Based on the description, Vrybusy was suggesting going over to Steep Creek Trail - the solid magenta on the Forest Service trail map. That's the boardwalk by the creek that I mentioned.
Gotcha! Thank you!!

Not sure when you're going, but make sure you check out the spawning salmon in the stream on the left (small parking lot area). There is another trail there you could check out as well.
thanks for the tip. I am looking at the map. The small parking lot is the one at the end of Glacier Spur Rd?

You time involves the "line up" time. How late is your port time? If there to 7pm, plenty of time. If leaving at 4, nope. Perhaps, just wait until you get there and use a cab- if you end up ok with time. No "reservations" needed. The park is open after the shuttles, just have cab company numbers to call from Mendenhall, at least 1/2 hour prior to needing pick up.
This idea could be a great opportunity, but doesn't really need any advance planning in your case. And you have at least a 3.5 hour block of time before back on board, 4 hours before sailing.
Thank you very much! I totally forgot to mention that our ship leaves Juneau at 10pm. Guess there is no problem time wise then. I just hope there will be a cab available without making a reservation ahead of time. We will see... :')

Our group has 4 adults and 2 kids (8 yo). We will be on ms Nieuw Amsterdam and visiting Juneau on Monday 8/6. We booked the excursion "Tracy Arm Fjord & Glacier Explorer" through HAL. The itinerary says the ship will arrive at Tracy Am Inlet at 10am. However, the excursion page states it starts at 9:15 and lasts 6 hours. I wonder if anyone who had experience could tell me what time we will approximately arrive at Juneau?
I'm thinking visiting Mendenhall Glacier and Nuggt Fall too. does it worth to go Mendenhall after watching glaciers close up in the morning? If so, I saw the last shuttle is often 6pm. Will we have enough time to catch it?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you guys!!! My friend read all of your replies and agreed with you. She will cruise on Magic! :D

A friend of mine plans to bring her family to a cruise during xmas. An interior cabin for 4 persons (2 boys, 5 and 1 yr old) is $3300 on Magic, and $2700 on Freedom or Dream. They live in Houston so logically Magic and Freedom would work best for them. However, Magic is $600 more than the other two, so she leans toward Freedom or Dream. Freedom is old but close to home while Dream is new but 6-hour driving away.
I only cruised on Magic and Triumph before and I LOVE Magic. Since she never cruised before and I couldn't give her any advice on either Freedom or Dream, I turn to you guys for any suggestions. Thank you in advance!
A total for each passenger will show up once you add it.
The thing is that it still showed the original total payment after I added it for everyone.
Well I guess I'll pass without adding it. -
I was in process to pay in total for my cruise coming up in December just now. The webpage says:
Carnival recommends
VACATION PROTECTION
Add to guest for $0.00
Is it really free? It's too good to be true so I decided to ask here first.:confused: -
Thank you! My 4 yr old DS will definitely try Dr. Seuss breakfast, no matter what reviews say.:D However, my DH and my parents might not go then.
-
it's taino beach according to previous posts on this board.
-
Aquarium at Atlantis? Walk around at Marina Village? Those are what we are going to do with our 4 yr DS.

48 days. Magic out of Galveston on 12/8. :D

Oh, yikes!
That's too bad...because sometimes I just don't have room for dessert right then and there but it would sure be nice to be able to take back a piece of cheesecake to our room and crack open one of our bottles of Moscato for later in the evening when we aren't quite as stuffed.
There are cheesecakes available at the buffet area on lido deck, although I forgot if they are the same as the ones offered in MDR.
-
i remember when I asked for a box to take my DS's leftover pizza back to cabin, they politely told me that if we'd like more pizza we can always order it on lido deck. so I guess the answer is no.

I would print and frame that photo
and get reminded every time when I lay my eyes on it that I was a faily failure who failed. :D
-
according to my 3.5-year-old DS, the best part of cruising was eating banana split while watching the sea....
-
Seriously???? It blew out of your wallet?
Yeah. Somehow I decided it was a great idea to put my iPhone in my wallet. And the view was so nice that I wanted to take a pic with it...
-
on ship we spent about $60 for extra tips to cabin steward and MDR waiters. ~$30 for a bottle of wine. ~$100 for photos and souvenirs. ~$20 at Casino (about $70 out $50 in).
And $25 gone with wind when I stupidly opened my wallet on top deck.....

Yes you can take taxi or water taxi to Atlantis, and buy a beach day pass (including aquarium, beach and lunch) on site. if you search “Atlantis Beach Day Pass” on this board, you will find a lot of information. We will visit same ports on Dec with Magic. My husband and I plan to do same at Nassau with our 5-yr-old DS and 60+-yr-old parents.

I bought my cruise and FTTF 88 days from sailing

He doesn't need a visa to visit Mexico. And if his visitor visa is not expired, he is okay to come back to the state too. i.e. If he holds a valid Chinese passport and valid US B2 visa, then he has no problem.
Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls after Tracy Arm Fjord & Glacier Explorer. Doable?
