  1. Just back off the Pearl Sunday which had Second City. The shows on the same day are the same in the theater. We went to our late show (9:30) and that is much emptier than the early show. I don't believe our theater took reservations, so can't speak to that part. We were all walk-in's.

Second City did another smaller show in the Spinnaker Lounge and that was completely different. Both HYSTERICAL shows!!!!

    Enjoy.

  2. Is there a 4 bottle minimum in each section of the package? I think I'd prefer a few from each section, but not sure I would want 4 from each section.

Thanks to all those giving "wine guidance"!

  3. Will I be able to find out exactly what is covered in my prepaid tips so I can address what is not covered should I choose to? For example, if they say it covers waiters, would it be all waiters in MDR and specialty restaurants?

  4. Dear Don't,

Thanks so much for that VivaVino detail!! Going on first cruise in Aug (Alaska/Pearl) and have already read far too much on wine confusing the heck out of me.

I had seen the full wine list for NCL and was content with the choices/prices. I thought it was worth the little extra $ to avoid running around Seattle when we land to find wine to bring onboard. We were all set to do about 6 bottles in the Vina Vino and then buy individual drinks "as needed", but this list doesn't have a great selection of reds IMO so back to being undecided again. I really appreciate the info! I'd rather know now than standing at the desk making my selections with no option to BYOB.

  5. Thank you all for the great info and leading me to a decision..... Pearl it is! Whew, what a burden lifted. Now I have a lot more to learn to make the best of our first cruise. I've read so much of the forums already and will continue because you contributions are priceless.

    I'll be in touch.:)

  6. Here goes my first post on CC so be kind! More to come I assure you.

Hubby and I (ages just north and south of 50, but much younger at heart) are first time cruisers going to Alaska in late Aug. After exhausting research, NCL Jewel and Pearl seem to be our final choices. I think i'm leaning more to Pearl, but saw reviews here saying that ship is not good for AK.

Is there a difference between these ships? Everything looks the same to my amateur eye. Cabin will be mini-suite and costs the same, looks the same, etc.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!
