    Hi everyone,

Received a letter from Carnival this morning saying that the stop at Antigua is now being replaced by Tortola on our cruise on the Carnival Magic starting February 29, 2020.

Anyone knows the reason why? Antigua was one of the reason we selected this itinerary (never been) and please tell me the beaches in Tortola are as nice (never been too) 🙂

    Thanks

    Jonathan

    Nice to know. Thanks

I heard work on the present dock is being done to expand it and cannot support all the ships that had scheduled to dock during that time.  We are disappointed also   We had a great excursion planned 😢

  2. We just got off Splendor and had cabin 8450. Although it was a very nice cabin and nice balcony with an overhang that provided shade, beware that the pool deck is just above it. My husband tried to rest one afternoon and there was constant scraping of chairs. People pick up the chairs and turn them around to face the ocean. I swear it sounds like they just drop them ! The cleaning crew also straightened up the deck late at night and early in the morning. It also sounded like they just dropped the little tables and the scraping was soooo annoying. We did make a complaint and it seemed the crew did make a better effort to lessen the noise. NOTE TO SELF: Bring earplugs because you never know. One great thing about aft balcony cabin is that there is much less traffic and therefore less hall noise.

  3. I really appreciate the many positive aspects mentioned of Splender!! A group of 8 are taking the Western Caribbean cruise in 3 weeks. We sailed Liberty 10 years ago and I enjoyed it very much. The pink won't bother us as we will be having too much fun to make this an issue. I don't understand the popularity and obsession with Guys Burgers!!?? If they are that greasy, I wouldn't want them anyway.

Can't wait to go and looking forward to a great time. Maybe I will write my own review upon return and then we can compare.

  4. My husband and I just returned from Rome. Prior to our trip, I had asked questions about "terminal 5". We had heard and read various posts regarding going there first. I thought I'd post our experience and hopefully in the future no one else will have a concern.

It is as a few people reported. Terminal 5 is a processing center for Flights returning to US and Israel. You must go there first to go through security. They give you a bag to put all electronics in: Cell phone, e-books, cameras, Chargers and cords. Make sure devices are charged so that you can turn off and on if they ask. Passports are checked. From there you go to another area to check bags. You then get on a shuttle bus that takes you to Terminal 3 (Short ride) from where all flights depart. Usually one departs from gate G or H.

It was not difficult - just not knowing what to expect!

  5. Hi. I am the friend in the above mentioned posts. Thank you all for your comments. Slider girl, thanks for that site. I went to that and entered info. It does show flights from CLT ARRIVING AT T 3. More than likely, that's where we will come in. This will make it so much easier to meet up with our friends.

  6. Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions. I checked my hair dryer and there is a switch to change to 250 but the converter should work with it anyway. The flat iron is not dual voltage. May have to get new one anyway! I guess this is just one of the little inconveniences I'll experience while being in a different country - Boy, how we get spoiled, huh?

  7. Not sure if there is previous info on this topic - I have read on the packaging of voltage converters "not to be used with flat irons" . Why is that? Any other options available? We are taking a land trip there in October and staying in an apartment and hotel. Thanks for your input!
