Oasis of the Sea July 12 with my 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter - advice?

This will be my first cruise. I wanted to see if anyone had advice for me. I am bringing my 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter. They are both experienced travelers but we have never been on a cruise.
Specifically:
What do you think of the kids clubs?
Safety tips for cruising with kids?
Advice on the shore excursions.
Will they hold my kids attention or should we skip them?
If so are there things to do on the ship while we are in port?
