We just got back from our cruise on the Getaway. We had a mid ship Oceanview with a large picture window OB was the description. It was great for the two of us. I can see where it might be crowded if you were in one of these rooms with the bunk beds too. The closet space was fine. Plenty of hangers. A lot of shelves to put stuff on. There were also plenty of cubbies to put more stuff around the room. Above the TV and below it....on each side of the vanity. There was also a box style stool that you could put stuff in. Luggage went under the bed. The bathroom had room for storage under the sink and also some other shelves to put stuff on. The showers have dispensers with shampoo and body soap. I would recommend bringing conditioner and a small bar of facial soap. Showers were nice and hot. Nice shower head - not a lot of water pressure....more like the soft rain showerheads. When you come in to the room you insert your key card in a slot which turns on the power. When you leave the room, you pull it out and everything turns off. If you bring an old key card from a hotel, etc. it will work too which can be convenient if you want to leave the air cond. running or are trying to charge electronics. The matresses were really comfortable and pillows were good. There are bedside tables with more space to store stuff and also individual reading lights on each side of the bed. Nice. Overall we were very satisfied with the accomadations. If you have any questions, let me know. This was my first cruise and it was amazing.

We used Jiffy Jeff Transportation and they were amazing. They have nice Mercedes Vans that are comfortable and got us there quick. Picked us up at our hotel on time and picked us up from the port on time when we got back and got us right to the airport. $15 per person each way. Excellent service. My family is leaving on the 5th also. I cannot wait to getaway. This is my first cruise and I am soooooo excited. Thanks for all the tips. Does anyone have a teen that went that did the teen club? How was it/ I have a 16 year old daughter and am hoping she is going to have a good time and make friends.

A few other questions....I don't know if this is the right thread but I will throw them out there and see if I get an answer.

My husband wants to bring his leatherman...pocket knife wit all the gidget gadgets on it. Can he bring that on the ship?

When you go on excursions like snorkling....is your stuff safe on the boat. I am trying to figure out what to do with my money, credit card, etc. How do you keep things from being stolen, etc.

Also, do most of you bring cash or travelers checks to pay for things off ship.

Are the mini fridges full of stuff when you get your room and if you use it, you have to pay for it. If you don't want it, do you just ask for it to be removed? I am planning to bring a couple of cases of bottled water.

Does the Getaway allow the over the door shoe hangers? I heard they can damage or scratch up the doors and then you could get charged for it?

Does it get real windy or cold in the evenings where you need to wear a jacket alot? Do you bring a windbreaker in case of rain?

Is it good to type up something with what is on each deck so you know where to go? Do they provide something at the beginning so you can figure it out?

I probably have more questions but I will stop for now. Please let me know if there is a better thread to ask these sort of questions. I am new at cruising so please excuse any dumb questions. Thanks!
