Some Emerald aft cabins have a part of the ship structure in the way of the view, hence the designation obstructed view. Here are a couple photos I found by googling E734 on the Emerald (I circled your cabin). You can see in the first photo that the openings in the structure of the ship don't line up perfectly with where your cabin window is, hence the obstruction designation. The white and silver divider you see in the opening for your balcony is what separates your balcony from that of the corner suite.
Some people (like us) are happy to be aft and just deal with the view issue. One of the nice things is that at the end of the hallway back there, there is very little hallway noise. Also the sound of the wake puts us to sleep at night. And it is just one flight of stairs down to the Promenade deck.
We did a Norway cruise last fall. You didn't say what month you are going... but you might want to overlook the obstruction because of the deeper aft balcony that will allow you to be outside and watch the scenery go by, and take photos, even if it's cold or drizzly. It is so beautiful there.
Thank you so much for your reply. I agree with you about the many advantages of having an aft balcony. I was able to change our cabin to one without the obstruction. Our cruise is June/25. Can’t wait. Cheers !!

Hello - We will arrive at South Queensferry at 7:00 am and our ship departs at 7:00 pm. I am looking for advice on how to spend our day. Transportation, tours, etc.
Thank you very much.

Hello - We have booked an aft Balcony E734 on our upcoming Norwegian fjords cruise. I have noticed on our booking states “obstructed” view. I can’t imagine spending extra money for a “Premium” balcony only to have an obstruction. Help.

That's funny when I check the April 30 Majestic I see inside for 288, balcony 399, minisuite for 599 and full suite for 1599..
That’s not correct - several sites list inside $118, balcony $199 and Mini-suite $299.

Totally agree. But I am skeptical of the underlying premise.
Hi - There are lots of full suites available.

If possible, would the OP @Pacific Sandy please share with us which cruise is this?
Hi - It is April 30 on Majestic Princess. We paid $619 for a Mini Suite and they are now $299. 😢

Hi - Our Majestic Princess cruise dropped over 50% after final payment and our TA says Princess will not budge to refund the difference or upgrade us. This means, people can book an Owner’s Suite for the same price we paid for the cheapest Mini Suite. I am devastated to say the least and I actually don’t even want to go now. 😢

We have just completed a 10 day Caribbean cruise on Serenade of the Seas. Hadn't cruised in a while and we noticed a huge difference in the services on board.
1. Our food in Reflections was always cold.
2. You couldn't get a drink to save your soul. There was a terrible lack of servers in the bars and lounges. The only way to get a drink was to go up to the bar and then you could wait up to 20 minutes. The poor Bartenders tried their best but couldn't keep up.
3. Hardly any deck parties. No party in the Centrum on the final night.
4. Super Bowl party out on deck had only chips and salsa and cold hot dogs.
5. Really focussed on getting money out of you. Constant announcements for spa/art auctions, etc.
6. Staff not nearly as friendly as they used to be.
We will try again, but I couldn't believe the difference.

Thanks everyone !!

Hi - We just purchased Drink Packages for our upcoming cruise on Serenade. We paid an 18% service fee on the package.
Can you confirm that there will be no extra Gratuity charges on the Ship?
Just checking so there are no surprises once on board.
Thanks

I booked with him for mid-Nov. This is one port that we are looking forward to the most! I think going with Levi will be excellent.
We are going on the Roseau Valley Best, which is his personal favorite.
Middleham Falls: The tallest waterfall on the Island. The hike to this waterfall is about 45 minutes one way, walking through part of the Island lush rain forest. For the first 20- 25 minutes you would be climbing up, which is the most difficult walk on the tour. From then it is flat and down hill until you get to the waterfall. There is a huge pool at the base of the waterfall with fresh clean water which will be tempting you to get in.
Trafalgar Falls: (two waterfalls in the same area) 10 minutes walk one way up a few steps. The walk is not too difficult and it is the second most visited site on the Island.
Titou Gorge: One of the most unique areas on the Island and it's also a spot where part of Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 was filmed. One can get to bathe in hot and cold water at titou gorge. To enjoy the gorge you would have to take the short swim up the cave like area. It's about 10 feet at it's deepest point, but if only about knee height when you get n the cave-Like area. There is an easy 7 minutes walk to the gorge.
Wotten Waven Sulphur Springs: (small boiling pools) 2 minutes walk one way up a few steps.
Depending on how long you stay at the waterfalls, we could also stop at the Botanical gardens and Morne Bruce.
Hi - We just returned and did this tour with Levi - It was fantastic. The hike to Middleham falls was just the right length. It was beautiful. You do need to be fairly fit to do it.
Titou Gorge was our favorite.
Levi is a very good driver and a real sweetheart.
We are planning to visit Dominica again and do a longer Hike with him.

When we were about to go ashore in Naples, the CD announced on the PA system that he highly recommended that we leave all valuables, including rings and watches, on the ship. I took it seriously and left them behind.
This was the only port where this announcement was made.

Hi Dee - No luck either. I have every port perfectly planned except for this one and its making me crazy.
If I find anything good I will be sure to let you guys know.

Hi Host Joe, Dee & Janis -
Thanks for finding that site - I had all but given up.
What day will you be in Tenerife? We will be there on Dec 4th on the Legend.
If by some chance we are in port on the same day, we would love to hook up for a tour with you.
Thanks,
Sandra
