I have a hold on this cabin and although I have managed to find that the obstructed view is the window washing ladder I cannot find whether it is something to avoid. The reason for maybe selecting it is that it shows a slightly larger balcony. However there are unobstructed cabins available at the same price and would really love to get some first hand advice on whether the extra space is worth putting up with the obstructed view. This will be for a transpacific voyage so 18 days. Thanks for any feedback.

Beachiekeen, If you are going to include Waipio Valley, I would drive there first and work my way back, stopping at Akaka Falls, and whatever else you have time for. If you start at the furthest point first you will have a better idea of your time. You might encounter road construction and delays depending on if current projects are completed by the time you travel. Personally I think you will not have time for everything but that's just my opinion. I don't know where Hilo falls in your cruise but if you like tropical flowers you could stop at the Hilo Farmers Market and pick up a bouquet for your cabin before returning to the ship. As you say, hopefully VNP will be open by the time you cruise. Have fun planning. Cherie
I did not realize that we could take fresh flowers back on board. I would love to do that.

When did Royal Caribbean ban allowing non-alcoholic drinks to be taken on at embarkation? We last sailed with them in October 2014 and it was OK to take soda on then. What with that and also just seeing that the internet is double what they charge on Carnival I am a little disappointed with RC.

I ran to Kroger today as well and bought $200.00 worth of gift cards. 80 cents off a gallon of gas plus the charge will hit this month and already be paid by the time we sail next month.

We are sailing with our 2 year old grandson in February. It just dawned on me that I have never noticed (and to be truthful also not been on the lookout) anyone getting off the ship at ports of call with a car seat. We know we are going to do excursions and probably be taking taxi's Anyone taken a child's car seat on board for use at ports? Thanks, Pat.

Imagine my surprise seeing a photo of me feeding the Iguana's on this thread......i wasn't even sure it was me at first and had to check what I was wearing that day from my own photo's. Coincidentally I had not been on the Carnival site for weeks and then I just jumped to page 50 on a thread I wouldn't normally look at....guess I was meant to see it. Scary isn't it thinking about people having photos you don't know about :) At least they don't have the next one which is me trying to escape the throngs of Iguana's.
Yeah next cruise in just 10 days!
The Gorgeous Beaches of the BVI!
in Tortola

We will be in Tortola on Celebrity later this month. We are renting a car and driving to Smugglers. As mentioned above all the beaches are beautiful, but we love the seclusion of Smugglers Cove. It is a beautiful beach with good snorkeling. We have been fortunate to spend several weeks in Tortola in years past, and have visited most of the beaches. Can’t wait to visit again.
