  1. I forgot the timetables

Please notice than on the 24th of May the bus will only run between Østerport station Sløjfen and Oceankaj because of the Copenhagen Marathon.

Hello DV, Thank you so so so much for taking your personal time to create this guide. Picture means a thousand words.

We are one of the thousands who will be boarding Regal Princess on May 24th and it falls on a Sunday. From what I understand Bus 25 does not run on Sunday neither. Would you be kind enough to review the directions below and let us know if this is the right route to go?

    ***

    On May 24th:

From Axel Guldsmeden to Kobenhavn H. Take Oresundstag to Osterport. Then from Osterport St., Slojfen, take Bus 27 towards Ocenkaj.

    ***

    On June 4th:

From Ocenkaj, take bus 27 to Osterport St., Slojfen. Then from Oresundstag to Copenhagen Airport.

    A million Thanks!

    Helena

  2. Hello Ultima Thule,

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions about Helsinki. :)

We are scheduled to dock (Regal Princess) at the West Harbor on June 1st from 7:00 to 4:00 and here is our plan:

    - Visit Seurasaari Open-Air Museum

    - Market Square

    - If time permits take a ride on Tram 2/3 to see the city

I google the transportations and would like to confirm if they are correct or if you will suggest a better route for our journey.

    1. West Harbour to Open Air Museum:

From West Harbour walk towards to Saukonpaasi and take Tram 8 towards Arabia, then get off at Perhonkatu. Take Bus 24 at Valnamoisenkatu towards Seurasaari -> then a 10 mins walk to the open air museum.

    2. Open Air Museum to Market Square

About 20 mins walk from Seurasaari to Meilahdentie, take tram 4 towards Katajanokka, get off at Ritarihuone -> then a 5 mins walk to Market Square

    3. Market Square to West Harbour

Take bus 20 from Erottaja towards Lauttasaari, get off from Lansisatamankatu and walk about 10 mins to West Harbour

    Many Many Many thanks,

    Helena :)

  3. Twins are the best :D

Btw I have found the time this Saturday to make a complete guide with photos to use the 25 and 27 busses.

There are 2 ships in port that day at terminal 1 and 2 at Oceankaj so we will also find out if 25 serves the terminals directly or just use the Oceankaj bus stop.

I will make a guide to find the bus at Nørreport from both the S-train/long distance trains and from the metro trains.

At Østerport I will make a guide to find the 25 bus at the regular Østerport bus stop and 27 from the sløjfen bus stop.

You are truly the best!!! Thank you x many millions!!! :) :)

  4. Hello Danish Viking,

It's me again... Sorry for keep bothering you.

One of the members in our Rollcall pointed out, on May 24th (same as our embarkation) your city is hosting a Marathon, starting 9:30am with 15,000 runners. After looking up the info online, it appears the route is scheduled to pass through city centre.

Do you have any insight on this? Will it affect any of the public transportations going to the pier? (from Axel Guldsmeden)

    Thanks again,

    Helena

  5. Hello again Danish Viking,

We have finalize our day trip and is wondering if you can review and let us know whether it requires any amendment.

    Arrival:

May 23rd approx. 10:00 am, travel to Axel Guldsmeden by Metro

Once settle down, we plan to take a bus to Torvehallerne and grab a quick bite. Then visit Rosenborg Castle, the round tower, Netto Canal Tour, Christianborg Palace (if time permits). Follow by taking a walk down the Stroget, and dinner at Cofoco.

May 24th, get ready for embarkation.

I understand most of the places are closed on Sunday. Do you know if there are any nice cafe near our hotel for a light morning breakfast?

Thank you again for your input. :)

  6. I've also used SPB and highly recommend them. They're great and easy to work with.

I've been to Russia several times on both land and river boat cruises, including Leningrad/St. Petersburg. Saw more with SPB than I'd seen previously. I loved that for lunch, they took us to small, very inexpensive places to eat with no tourists so we could sample the local everyday food. Nothing special but it was cheap and very good. Vika (the owner) kept stopping by on our tour to make sure everything was going well. Very hands-on.

Pam!!! :) I was just reading your feedback with regards to your cabin experience on Marina Deck - Regal/Royal. We just recently assigned M316 today, under the fountain pool? I understand you were located right underneath the Horizon Court which ours is a little further forward. Do you think if we will experience noise issue with M316? :)

  7. Yes, unless you are in a full suite or are Captain's Circle Elite, tender tickets are required from arrival in the port until some point later in the morning, maybe around 10am or so. There will be an announcement in the Princess Patter the night before indicating where you pick up tender tickets. It is usually a Dining Room. Tender tickets are not provided in advance, and tender tickets are not provided to an individual passenger(s) for a group. All passengers that wish to go ashore together must be present to obtain their tender ticket. Passengers that have Elite status, or are in a full suite may go directly to the tender dock, and can meet the rest of the group on shore. Full Suite and Elite passengers are not supposed to "cut" to the front of the line at the loading pontoon. They are supposed to just go to the loading area and join the line.

Thank you so much for the thorough details! :)

We did the tour with SPB last summer as you are, and the tender was no problem. Our group just went to the meeting area (dining room), got our number and I don't recall even having to wait for more than a few minutes before we were going to the tender. So just get your group together and go to the assigned meeting place as soon as you can so that you won't be anxious! (Our SPB tour was great - fantastic guide - we really enjoyed our time there!)

Glad to hear you enjoyed the tour with SPB!! We were debating whether we should do a DIY or joining SPB, now we know for sure - SPB it is!! :)

When you said, your group went to the meeting area and got your number... were you referring to the tender tickets? :)

  8. Calling for those who has tender experience with Princess. :) :)

Some of the threads said passengers are required to obtain tender tickets the day (or night?) before.

If tender tickets are required, where can we get it and when? Will Princess announce in advance? I'm assuming they would give priority to those who have joined their excursions, as well as some VIPs... We are booked with SPB tours at Nynäshamn and definitely want to get to the pick up point asap. :(

    Thank you in advance!

  9. On our Panama Cruise I asked the guy at Customer Service if he would Punch my card. He held it in one hand balled up his fist - punched the card and handed it back to me, smiled and said 'Anything else Sir'

    Lol! That's a good one! :)

  10. Yes and no. Strömma will offer hop-on hop-off buses during the following dates:

    May 11

    June 2, 13, 16, 24 and 28

    July 5 and 7

    August 7, 12 and 29

    September 1, 9, 10, 17 and 24

    October 1, 8 and 15

The price for a ticket is SEK330. This ticket includes the transfer to Stockholm, a hop-on hop-off tour in Stockholm and the transfer back to Nynäshamn.

There are no discounts for students and seniors. The price for children is SEK100.

The buses will be standing right next to where the tender boats arrive.

For any further questions please send an e-mail to bokning@stromma.se

There is a map where you can see the hop-on hop-off route in Stockholm but the pdf-file is too big so you can see it here: http://www.nynashamn.se/4.2447cef013e3c1b82892878.html

    Hi there,

Could you please elaborate the schedules from/to Nynäshamn & Stockholm? Is the transfer a all day servic (hourly?)? Or once in the morning from Nynäshamn and once in the afternoon from Stockholm? If it is the later, what time is the pick up and return?

Also, do we purchase the ticket online in advance or on the bus?

    Thanks,

    Helena

  11. Hello Danish,

We are booked at Axel Guldsmeden for one night stay and will be embarking Regal Princess on May 24th (SUN).

We understand Bus 26 does not operate on Sunday and is wondering other than taking a Taxi, would you please recommend how to go from our hotel to Oceankaj (ocean Quay) using public transit? The direction Google provided included a 39 minutes walk to the pier which we are uncertain if it is correct.

As well, we will be disembarking from Regal on June 4th and going straight to the airport. Could you please also let us know the best way to get to the airport from the Pier using public transit?

If we decide to take a taxi last minute, do you happen to know whether there will be any waiting at the pier?

Thank you again for all your assistance with our planning!! :) :) :)

    Thanks,

    Helena

  12. Isn't that crazy? Coming back would be perfect, it doesn't leave Stockholm for Nynashamn until 5:15, which pushes it about as late as possible for a 6:30 all aboard. I guess they figure the average passenger doesn't want more time than 6 hours to wander around.

They do have an excursion that leaves at 7:45, and goes to the Vasa Museum and then free time in Gamla Stan. But it leaves to return at 3:45, which is pretty early. You'd be back to Nynashamn 1.5 hours earlier than necessary. It costs $129.

100% agree with you! We are also looking at options from Nynäshamn to Stockholm and couldn't believe the transfer offers by Princess doesn't leave until 9:45! We are considering taking the excursion from SPB @ $115/pp or taking a train ourselves.
