Thank you everyone for the great information. We have been off the ships for 4 years now. Amazing how much has changed.
I appreciate the information.

Good afternoon,
I am looking to purchase the MedallionNet for our Itinerary. But we only have 2 devices.
Is the only choice 1 device or 4 per reservation, or can both parties order the 1 device?
We only have 2 devices and seems to be a sketchy that we would have to pay almost double to add the 2nd device.
Thank you.

I will be cancelling our Sunday Regal voyage. Wife just cannot think of travelling even though we were going Caribbean. No refund, no Cruise credit since I did not have trip coverage. A bit disappointed in Princess. They did not even reinstate our future Cruise credit.
We have rearranged trips in past because they have overbooked.
My Princess planner is out of the office. Maybe next week when she is back we can talk.

I am scheduled for Regal on Sunday also. I never buy the trip insurance and we are dealing with 'the fear of the unknown'. I would be cancelling if I had the opportunity to get a credit to make my family safer.
Not necessarily because of the virus, but because of the unknown' with the countries.
Question, since this ship leaves out of the US, do you think the US authorities would do anything differently. Like the flight they did out of China and then quarantine?

How about the Star?

Thanks for all of the responses. Fortunately I am going on this trip for the stops. I am familiar with them all and we will be spending a lot of time ashore. Family at almost every stop.

Thank you for all of the responses. Auto correct is terrible if you don't proof read. Yes it is the Regal.
Since you all seem to be knowledge. What is the status of the TV entertainment on the Grand. Has that been updated to match the Regal?
Thank you

Our last 2 cruises have been on there gal. I am concerned that the buffet food selection there has spoiled me.
Has the Horizon Court been updated with a better food selection on the Grand?
Thank you

I am now booked on the Regal for January 21. I did not book because of the Ocean Medallion. I did book because the Inside Cabin was $99.
I received an upgrade to Category 1B and now have a Cabin assignment. How do I know if it is an Ocean Medallion room?
Thanks

We were on the Regal. It was the first time with the updated TV system. We loved it. I did not have to try and make the movies. I could watch at my leisure. You could stop the show and pick it up at another time.
I think it added to our experience on the ship. Especially as we were resting from the very busy port heavy trip.

That's it.
You are not allowed thru immigration without some sort of visa or tour ticket saying that some one in Russia is taking responsibly for you with a blanket visa.
And the only way you can do anything on your own is to have a your own visa.
Just curious but why go to St Petersburg if you don't want to try and see it?
Cheers
Len
We have 2 days in SPB. We have booked the Ballet on the first night and a full day tour on the 2nd. I was wondering if there were any souvenir stands that were accessible before we started our evening.

If you are not on a tour, and do not have a Visa, is there anything else to do beside sit on the Ship?
Thank you for your help.

We had a fabulous day in NYC yesterday. The weather was gorgeous and we walked about 1 1/2 miles (half hour) to the Carroll street station- half a mile to get out of the port, 2 blocks on a street thru an industrial area and then thru a neighborhood with kids going to school, crossing guards at every corner and lots of folks pushing baby strollers (a little baby boom in Brooklyn!). The neighborhood was lovely - tree lined street with big brownstones decorated for Halloween. We're so glad we followed your advice! Everyone we met was helpful - we just needed to look the least bit confused in a subway station and someone would offer to help us. After a long day we returned to the ship where our balcony had a spectacular view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. The breath taking Sail away was the end of a memorable day.
Edit - darn auto correct. I know I wrote smeyer in the title!
We also enjoyed our day in NYC on 10/30. There is a bus stop right outside the port. We ran into the Liquor Store, bought a $5 Metro Card. Got on Bus B61 to the end of the line. Walked a little over a block and hoped on the A Train. Reversed the order on the way back.
Very easy. There was a group of about 10 of us that started the walk.

Geeeez. this is the only stop we are not using a "cruise excursion" I was hoping we were going to the manhatten terminal. Makes it more expensive to get taxi to hop on and off.
Does anyone know what would be the easiest way to do this.
I am going for the subway. Maybe a taxi to get back. I will see what the time is looking like.
-
If you are beginning or ending your cruise at Red Hook and have lots of luggage to schlep, the subway is not the most convenient method of transportation and I probably wouldn't recommend it either, but if you are docking there as a port of call and won't have luggage to deal with, you should have no problem using the subway and/or bus.
So what is the best directions to get to the subway? We have an 8 hour stop.

Why would I want to sail out of Houston? I have absolutely no desire to even visit Texas!
Transplant from So Cal. I never had texas on my radar until the company was going to open up a call center. Visited San Antonio for 3 days and decided to make the move. Other than the weather, I love this place.
Cost of living blows away California, NY, etc. There is a friendliness that I did not always find in Cali. Thr drivers in Texas are not the best, but I can get over it.
The best is that I can take more cruises, vacations, etc because more of my money goes into my pockets. Not into housing (bigger house, half the cost) or absurd taxes. I had 23 years left on a Mortgage in Cali. Now I only have 12 years left here in Texas.
Retirement is on the way sooner than I could imagine.
But that is ok Tip, you can stay out of Texas, we will do just fine without the Northeast Attitiude.

We did Galveston last year. Loved it. We leave next week. Even if delayed, the cost is too low to pass up for a week away from work. Should be about a 5 hour drive. No airport and again a week away from work.
This is our quick no frills getaway.

I still miss the days of limited minutes for Elite Members. I guess I will just have to do with getting my Laudry done.
