  1. We tipped $10 per person. Our tour was only $30 per person with the Fun and Sun package. Our tour guide was informative about the island and stayed with us the entire day. Our money is worth more than theirs. So tip well. Tourism is the #1 source of income for the island. Definitely worth it for what you get!

Thanks so much that's very helpful!! We were thinking 100-125 or so for the 9 of us. I appreciate your sharing, tipping is so personal, so it helps tip get an idea.

  2. I am looking into this as well for our Oct cruise. I was wondering about kids also, so I went to the Playa Mia website & used the live chat option to ask. They recommended for someone not drinking alcohol to just get the day pass & buffet option, and to use cash bar for soda. So evidently the buffet option comes with no drinks (soda, etc) whatsoever.

Not knowing the cost of each soda, I think I am just going to go ahead & buy the full package for my 10 year old. It's only like $15 more, so I figure she can get some soda & even a virgin pina colada or strawberry daiquiri.

I am also debating on whether to book thru NCL or direct. Either way, I'm thinking its cheaper (at least for me and my party of 8) to get the transportation included. Taxis are regulated, and for my party of 8 it would be $35 each way. At least that's how much to Mr Sanchos beach club, from what I see.

My problem is the timing. What time does the NCL trip depart? We want to get there when they open. Can we leave when we want? If NCL isn't rolling out till after 9, I would not be interested.

If you find out anything about times, please post! Thanks

We just booked this trip through shoreexcurioneer.com. You can also add transportation if you like. We are going in Aug on RCCL Freedom of the Seas

  3. Has anyone tried this? It's all inclusive for adults and families. They offer a day pass.

We just got back form FOS Westeren Carrib and went here for the day. It was very nice, clean. The beach had a lot of chairs and place in the shade. The swimming area is not that large, but it was not rocky and perfect for us. There are 2 pools, one had more activities going on and one was more quiet, but had plenty of chairs around them.

We docked in Falmouth so the drive was about 40 minutes.

We used resort for a day so our driver was Russell from Jamaica tours, he was awesome, made the drive seem like 10 minutes!! He was knowledgeable about Jamaica and he was EXACTLY ON TIME to pick us up to take us to the ship.

The food was good, there was several places to choose from. I would say it was worth the money. We were considering Rose Hall because of the waterslide but we didn't really need it. They are building a waterslide/park at this hotel soon I believe it said December?

Hope this helps. Any questions you can email me at macherenzia@gmail.com

  4. I have done the swimming with stingrays twice. The first time was great because the steps to get off and on the boat had handles which made my step climbing easier

The second time, the ladder into to water was not secure, had not rail and I was seriously injured both getting off the boat and on

Can anyone recommend a good excursion with a more stable step situation?

I don't mind the crowd, waves or stingrays slithering around me. Just getting on and off the boats.

I would email stingray sailing, my mom couldn't swim and they were very gentle with her. We had a wonderful experience. They limit the excursion to 25 people so it is smaller and you get more personal attention

  5. Ive decided to do stingray city here and a beach. Which is the best company to use for the excursion and which beach? Basically, someone tell me the best excursion to take =) Ages, 65, 43, 16 & 10 Thank you.

We used Stingray sailing and they were amazing!!! You can't go wrong here. After the stingray and snorkeling, they will offer to drop you off at the beach or at the pier to continue your day. Our party of 9 consisted of 84, 76, parents all the way down to my 12 year old nephew. We all had an amazing time. Email me at macherenzia@gmail.com for more details if you want.

    Have fun:)

  6. We just got back from our trip and took our 5, 7, and 8 year olds to Blue Hole with Liberty Tours.

There are guides at Blue Hole that are AMAZING with the kids. We brought our own life jackets for the kids (needed them at the other ports as well) and there was absolutely nothing to worry about. The guides there take your waterproof cameras for you and take as many pictures (and videos) as you want. They stayed with our kids the entire time, helped them walk the falls, and jumped in after them to make sure they got to the edge safely after their jump. They even carried our kids down the really big waterfall to the lowest spot so they could jump in.

I have some videos I'm going to upload to youtube if you'd like to see them.

If you could post this on you tube it would be great Thanks, Mary Ann

  7. We are cruising as a family with my parents, and my sister and her 2 kids. My kids and my sister and her kids have never cruised before. I am looking forward to spending time together as a family and seeing their faces as they experience their first cruise.

  8. "We bought the coke only packages and actually found we drank more water. We wont buy the package in the future."

Hi SD CRUZER, we are thinking of getting the drunk package and we are wondering if you can get bottled water and cans of pop out is it just fountain pop? The package we are looking at is the Royal Replenish, it's not very clear in the descriptions.

    Thanks Mary Ann
