  1. There parking lots near The Harbor and Mallory Square, and plenty of metered spots on the other end of Duval near the southernmost point. You will have to pay for parking and maybe walk a few blocks, but you should be able to find parking spots. If people in your group can't walk a few block, you may have to drop them off and pick them up again.

The area around White Street Pier and Higg's Beach has free parking and parking is included with your admission to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park if you choose to go there.

If you do decide to look for Street parking, be sure to look for "residents only" painted on the street and do not park in those spots. Also, be sure you don't block gates or driveways.

Exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you so much for the information!!!

  2. Really need help on this!!!! There are 6 of us traveling. I will give some background as to why we have to get an electric car. The last time my husband and I were in key west we biked it, it was amazing!!! However, this time around when I suggested bikes, my mom said "no", lol!!! I considered walking it, however, my dad is a heavy set guy so that isn't a feasible option. So at the end of the day the 6 passenger electric car seemed like the best option.

So on to the help I need. I have no idea where to go!!! The posts that I have read about parking are scaring me. When we visited last we spent most of our time near White Pier, which was awesome, very peaceful and we definitely experienced the laid back vibe that KW is known for. We wanted to go to the free gardens but it was closed unfortunately. We did bike past the Most Southern Point but weren't interested in taking a picture. I just more so like to explore.

Any suggestions on what we can do or where to go using an electric car? P.S. I don't think any of us would be interested in Hemmingway's house. We all like to drink and explore. Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!!!

  3. Leaving on the Sky 06/13/16. We are staying at the Chesterfield hotel in South Beach pre cruise but I am considering staying in Miami 3 days post cruise. This will be a first for us and I cannot decide where to stay. I have looked at multiple options but cannot decide. I am 31 and my husband is 33, we enjoy having fun and having multiple activity options like beach volleyball, live entertainment, and beach lounges; I am also looking for a spa. I don't know a lot about different areas of Miami Beach so I guess that's why it's hard to decide. So many options!!! We are looking for something no more than $190-$200 a night. It's also been hard to factor in the resort fees and some of the deposits these hotels are asking for. I believe I saw $100 a night for a deposit...That seems a bit extreme, or it may be normal...again I'm not sure. We have stayed at the Chesterfield before and not sure if we want to stay there post cruise, the rooms are a bit small for the number days we plan to stay post cruise.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

  4. You can reserve the clam shells on board at the Shore Excursions desk. Do it as soon as you board, in case they sell out. You'll also get a priority tender ticket.

Wow, didn't know it would come with priority tendering!!!! And we plan to be to the port of miami very early so as not to miss out on getting one, hopefully.

  5. Sailing ncl Pearl November 3rd...super excited!! But I have a dilemma when it comes to GSC. My first time visiting GSC was this past June, I got to experience what everyone raved about in reviews, very beautiful island. We enjoyed ourselves 100% while there. We were lucky enough to have a large cabana for just 3 of us, so we had lots of room. We enjoyed the priority tendering (which was also a suite perk, our concierge escorted us, so not sure how this works for non suite guests) as well as the $50 credit and floating mats. This time things are a bit different...the cabana prices have gone up significantly. On our last trip small cabanas were $250 and large were $300, once the small cabanas sold out, they dropped the price of the large cabanas to $250 so I was able to take advantage of that. This time around small cabanas are $315!!!! So, I figured this time we would just get a Clam shell covering (I know it's first come first serve for these) and that would give us an excuse to bar hop as, much like everyone else, we have UBP; we chose not to bar hop last time as the servers would just come to the cabana. My dilemma is, after such a great experience with the cabana, will it be hard to adjust to not having one or is it worth it to dish out the cash for a cabana despite the significant increase in price? I know this is subjective but if anyone has experienced both, I would like to hear your feedback.

  6. I have done a 3 day with Carnival however we stayed in Miami the night before so that just made it seem longer. We also had a sea day on the cruise and that made it seem longer. I have done the 4 day on the Sky, however, we had a suite with the works so that made it even better!!! We also stayed one day before and a couple of days after...so it was worth it. I agree it depends on flights, we live in atlanta and usually drive down and fly back. We really enjoyed the Sky, we went to one show with a mentalist comedian...we really enjoyed that.

  7. I doubt anyone will flame you. The May promo was made public several days ago. And, in credit to your PCC, the May deal isn't quite as good as this current one. It's a choice of a $75 dining credit, $50 per port excursion credit (that one is per statement, not person), internet package or on-board credit (amt dependent on cabin category). So, as you can see, none of the choices for May are near as good a deal as current promo.

Are they still going to have the friends and family sale free?

  8. So we arrived at the MDR. ANOTHER FIRST: We chose Your Time Dining. We did not have to wait long, this was the pattern for the entire cruise. I can't remember everything we ate this night. I remember I had a duck dish and my husband had shrimp cocktail as appetizers. For desert we had the famous Warm Melting Chocolate Cake (I think I put that in the right order). I'm not a big fan of it but I always try it. So this is still day 1 (01/23), the day before my birthday. Surprise!!! The staff came around with a slice of cake and sang happy birthday!!! Dinner ran a little long so we missed our planned activity, I think it was some kind of Gender game. But we left dinner and went to Stripes Dance Club because they were having ladies night where they were giving out a free glass of champagne to the ladies from 10-11pm. So we stayed there until the 12am comedy show. Stripes was fun, the DJ played a vast variety of music from pop to hip hop spanning different decades...it was fun. We got to the comedy club around 11:30 so we could get a good seat...we sat in the very front row. The host who introduced the comedian was good, he was funny. The comedian, I think his name was Andrew, was funny as well. He was making jokes but also telling a story. I did doze off a little during the show but I was exhausted!!! After the show, we headed back to the cabin. While we were on our way to the cabin, we started discussing breakfast. We were booked on a food and cultural walking tour and I read in reviews that the portions are equal to a big lunch, the tour was scheduled for 11:30am. So I suggested to my husband that we not eat to heavy and told him that I would like to try the room service breakfast which is a continental breakfast. He said that he needed something heavier than that. I told him that he could go to the buffet but I would still order room service breakfast for myself and anything that he wants of the menu. I ordered raisin brand cereal, a banana, juice, toast, and coffee; he asked for a banana and cinnamon toast crunch. I decided to get it early between 8:00am-8:30am so the food could settle before the tour. I put the door hanger out a little after 12:30am. Okay that's it for day 1, will be back for day 2.

  9. Sorry for the delay!!! It has been super busy at work. But I will start with the muster drill. Well, before I get to the muster drill. We did get a chance to explore the ship. There wasn't much to see because nothing was really open yet. But we explored the sun deck, mini golf, waterworks, Chinatown, the casino, Neon Piano Bar, and and the library. We liked liked the fact that they didn't tuck the library away as most big ships do. My husband didn't even realize that the other ships had libraries and that they all offer books to read as well as board games. After exploring, we went back to the other room. It seems like as soon as we got to the room and my husband got comfortable, they started the muster drill announcements. I made sure not to get too comfortable because I knew it was coming. So, when they they announced for everyone to start going to their designated muster stations I was up and ready to go...my husband, not so much. I told him over and over again that he has to go. He asked how would they know that he's not there, I told him that the room stewards check the room. I told him that I read on CC where a guy said he and his partner hid in the closet until the room steward came and went...we both laughed at that. He refused to go, so I went. I was seated at the muster station at City Lights...I was there for about 6 minutes before I saw him approaching me. I asked him if he had a change of heart and he said no, that the room steward caught him, LOL!!! This muster drill was a little different that what I was used to compared to the last 2 cruises. We were also grouped with a couple who had gotten married onboard they were still in their wedding attire...she was beautiful in her dress, I couldn't stop looking at them, thinking about my own wedding day and hoping that they have a long and prosperous marriage. Anyway, so the staff went over their normal demonstration of the life jackets and what happens with children during emergencies. I thought it was over after that, but then they started calling each station individually to their lifeboat decks!!! WHAT!!! Are they really going to stuff us on a deck? Yes, they did!!! And, of course, our station was the last to be called. Then there were more announcements, most of them not even about the muster drill but about activities on the ship and visiting the spa and fun shop and photo packages!!! So, you trap us on a deck for advertising of things that we can find in the Fun Times or things you can announce at any other time than this?! I was definitely frustrated at this point. The other muster drills we simply went to our assigned station, there was a demonstration, and we were then released to enjoy our vacation. We then went back to the room to plan the rest of the day. We decided to go to dinner, then to 1 other activity (can't remember what it was) and then to the comedy club. We were kind of dozing off while making the plans and then I looked outside and we were leaving!!! We both were shocked at how we literally felt no movement!!! So we started getting ready...I will note that the shower was AMAZING, the water pressure and temperature were perfect!!! I'll have to finish up at home, time to shut down at work.

  10. Well, I'm back!!! So we boarded the ship where we were greeted by "The Wobble" with crew members dancing to the song, I joined in for a while and so did a few other people...We're on a cruise, time to let loose!!! We then headed to our room, the doors to the hallways were closed so we thought we couldn't access the room just yet...but as we were walking away some guests came through the doors. That at least gave me a green light to try to explore. So we walked slowly down the hall, as to not get to excited because we may be turned away. We arrived at our room, the door was open and it looked like they just finished the room. This was when I turned to my husband and said "Oh, did I forget to mention I upgrade us to a suite?", LOL!!!! We loved the room!!! The decor was dated but the extra space was amazing!!! We loved the walk in closet and the bathroom with the whirlpool tub were a plus!!! The balcony was large, but we didn't use it much, so I'm happy I didn't pay extra fro the extended balcony. Well, our luggage wasn't there just yet so we decided to head to the lido deck, we boarded with our swimwear on, so no need to change. We found great lounge chairs on the Lido deck, got a little sun in, and then we decided we were hungry. ANOTHER FIRST: This was my first time relaxing almost immediately upon boarding. Normally, I'm like a made woman combing every inch of the ship. We checked out Mongolian Wok but the line was waaay too long. So we opted for for On The Grill. While my husband waited in line I went inside to check out the buffet there and also to see if the Pizza place was open. The Panorama Bar and Grill was featuring Italian cuisine. I checked to see if the pizzeria was open, it had not opened just yet but the deli, which was right beside it, was open. I went back to the line, which was moving pretty quickly, and relayed the options to my husband...he opted for On The Grill. Here we got burgers, hot dogs, and fries. The way they were passing out the burgers was odd...they were literally 'handing' them out, I felt the need to mention this because, again, I found it odd. Well, we sat down to eat...our first meal on the ship. Well, this is where my first real complaint comes in...the burgers were dry, my husband said that they should have taken the burgers off the grill 5 minutes early, LOL!!! The hot dogs were not beef hot dogs...I'm normally not a picky eater but I am picky about my hot dogs and they must be 100% beef; my husband, on the other hand, did not mind. The fries were really good. My husband did grab a cupcake from Panorama..that was the highlight for him. The cupcake was dense, kind of like pound cake, it had whipped icing and bits of candy in it. After that, we went back to our lounge chairs and had a couple of drinks. I think we ate about 2 more times while we were lounging. I got a chance to go to the Mongolian Wok, the line wasn't long at all at that time...I didn't get a good combination, so that was on me. We also ate some pasta from Panorama....It was a penne pasta with ground pork, it was really good!!! At that point I suggested we go back to the room to relax before the muster drill. I will stop here...be back tomorrow!!!

  11. Well, I usually present my husband with all the travel options: driving one way and Flying back, round trip flight, or driving round trip. I let him choose because I don't mind either way. When we drive we do rent a car...so far we haven't paid more than $70 for a one way rental...so I'm good at finding deals for that. I am usually pretty good at finding really great flight prices for one ways and round trips. So our first cruise together he opted that we drive and fly back because we would probably be too tired to drive back. The drive isn't bad....we love it!! We leave late at night usually 11 or 12 and arrive in Miami while the sun is rising. I guess it builds the suspense, lol!!!! We have even played around with times we leave for our flights. One time we left at about 12, the other we left at close to 7 so we had a lot of time to hang around Miami. This last trip we drove round trip, which wasn't bad at all. But on the next go round we will probably try a round trip flight.

  12. The next morning, we went down for breakfast. There were lots of pastries, a big variety of jams and jellies, assorted sandwich meats, cheese, breads (sliced, bagels, croissants), coffee, tea, juice, milk, oat cereal, yogurt, and fruit. I felt that it was sufficient...my husband on the other hand has a huge appetite and it took him a while to get satisfied. I told my husband that I would like to get to the cruise port no later than 10:30, because I know him, that meant we would get there at 11, which is when I really wanted to get there, LOL!!! Once we got packed up, I went down to the owner to see if he could give us a number for a cab to the cruise port...he pulled out his phone and had a cab there in minutes....very helpful. I believe it was about $20 to get from the B&B to the port...not bad. When we got there we gave our luggage to a porter who explained that we would get our luggage almost as soon as we boarded...at this time my husband had no idea we had FTTF or that it even existed; he's a bit frugal so at times I have to show him the value of things in order to be able to get it the next time. We went through the priority line, although there wasn't really anyone in the regular lines. We went through security without a problem. We walked right past the entrance that said Captain's Lounge and as soon as we got up the escalator and showed our boarding pass, we were directed back down to enter the Captain's Lounge, they could clearly tell we were first timers. We gave the reps our boarding passes and added cash to our onboard acct. One of the main reasons I decided to keep FTTF was because for the first time I was using cash instead of my card for my onboard acct and figured we would probably have to use Guest Services at some point in time and I did not want to wait in a long line!!! The Captain's Lounge was small than the regular lounge. When they called us we all walked out together and got into line to take the traditional picture in front of the picture of the ship...My husband and I declined. That's all I can do for today, tomorrow I will speak on another first and our initial thoughts of the ship. Thanks to everyone who is following, I hope I'm not too boring!!!!

  13. I never really understood the significance of people putting the review of their pre/post hotel stays but I see now. When I was younger and traveled with my parents, we would always stay in Miami a day before and a day after...when you are young, you don't know to appreciate those kinds of things. Now as an adult, we spend the day before getting things ready...well, getting my husband's things ready...I am usually packed at least a week in advance. I normally have to work up till the day before and have to return no more than a day after we arrive back home, so we usually don't have room for staying the day before or after. This is mainly due to the fact that I have never, in my adult life, been on a cruise less than 7 days long. So now that I have had the opportunity to do that...I see why it is a significant part of cruising. My review for SoBe You will be a short one...we were only there for a day. But the owner of the B&B was helpful. It seems like the reviews on TripAdvisor kind of exaggerated him a bit or I might have read too much into it. A lot of reviewers felt that he was very friendly and engaged; I didn't get that vibe from him. To me, he was helpful and I'll just leave it at that. I an extremely bubbly person, at work and at home. I know a lot of people cannot be like me but I was expecting from the reviews for the owner to be friendly and just a little bubbly...we got helpful with half smiles, but some people could take that as very friendly; don't get me wrong, I was not offended and would give the stay great reviews, just not what I was expecting. But upon arrival, our room was ready, which was a plus since we around about about 11am and check in wasn't until 3...but I gave him a heads up when I booked and was happy he was able to accommodate. He gave us a tour of the front desk, the bar area, the outside eating area, the pool, and then directed us to our room. While we were on the tour of the facilities I whispered to my husband "Are you read to share a bathroom", he whispered back "no", LOL!!! Opening the door to the room, I finally told him that we weren't sharing a bathroom, the look of relief on his face was priceless!!!! The room was a good size, the bathroom was tiny. I am a slim person, so it didn't affect me, however, my husband kept bumping into things (the wall, the toilet, the sink) every time he went in there, LOL!!! The decor was light and airy, light blue walls, with white sheets and tiles. The bathroom was a mustard yellow with some black tiles here and there...those 2 didn't match up to me, but again, didn't really bother me. First thing we did after getting settled in was ask the owner for a good place for lunch, preferably a Cuban place. He suggested Havana 1957. I ready about this during my research, which is why location was important for me. I also, saw a deal on Travelzoo.com for a voucher...didn't grab it at the time I saw it and when I went searching for it, it was gone....too little too late. I told my husband we could walk which would take about 10 minutes (the weather was beautiful, around mid 70's with a breeze) or we could rent the bikes on sight from $10 for 4 hrs or $20 for the day; he chose the walk. Walking in that type of weather was amazing, easy, and breezy. We arrived at Havana 1957. I got the special....I believe the waitress said that that chicken in the special marinates for like 38hrs or something like that....IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! My husband had a grilled chicken, he liked my better but he had them bring on the gravy that was on my chicken and put it on his, he liked it better that way. The waitress kept pushing for us to get mojitos...I wonder what their incentive is for that, we didn't get any but it was kind of annoying how much she was pushing. Anyway, we walked around a bit more, went to the beach briefly and then headed back to the B&B. We took a much need nap after so much driving. My husband brought along some homemade wine that my dad made so I suggested we go down to the pool and drink it, I took my portable speaker and put on some nice music...this is the point where it hit me. I now have time to just kick back and relax before the cruise. It was an amazing feeling and put in the right state of mind. I mean to sit there with my legs in the heated pool with wine, soft music, and a gentle breeze...nothing could have made that moment more perfect. After polishing off the wine, we were both hungry, we decided to go by a sandwich shop that we passed on the way the Havana 1957. I remembered it because I also saw it on Google Maps while combing the area for food and nightclub spots. I think at this time it was about 10:30pm, the place stayed open until 4am. I can't remember what sandwich I ordered...it was just okay. My husband didn't get anything from there, he ate my leftovers from Havana...I had a lot of chicken left over, they gave me such a large portion. After eating, we both couldn't keep our eyes open if we tried....guess I really didn't need to spend that time looking into nightlife, LOL!!!!!

Oh, and if you haven't noticed, the other 2 people who were supposed to be joining us bailed....I tried to see if I could get a flight back home but because it was days before there were layover flights out of this world, we wouldn't have gotten home until the 27th...same with the bus routes. So now, we were stuck making a 9hr 30 min drive back home by ourselves....more on that later.

  14. From the time of paying for the cruise I did A LOT of research on hotels in South Beach...I read a lot of reviews on TripAdvisor. After months of researching reviews, pictures, and location...I was down to 2 hotels. 1. Suites on South Beach and 2. SoBe You Bed and Breakfast. I was really leaning more towards Suites on South Beach because the location was only a block from Ocean Dr. and a block and a half from the beach I read a lot of reviews about Kevin, one of the guys at the front desk. Every time I called to the hotel I spoke with Kevin and he was always helpful and was willing to give a discount. I was always ready to book, however, the other 2 people who were going kept suggesting we book rooms at the same time....it was a big mistake waiting on them. Once I decided to stop waiting and just book...you guessed it, the rooms were SOLD OUT, I was furious!!! But I could only blame myself from trying to be accommodating. Kevin suggested the Kent which is a hotel owned by the same people...again I went into research mode, the location was great, however, they only had one floor of room renovated and it seemed that the rooms that were not renovated kept getting bad reviews. And really for the cost I was loosing a lot of space in comparison to Suites on South Beach. So I did more research into SoBe You Bed and Breakfast. The location was not as close to the beach as I'd like but it was still within walking distance. I continued to read reviews and the all seemed to be great!!! The cheapest room they had was a Queen room with a shared bathroom. I did not mind sharing a bathroom....hey, it was only for one night and it would remind me of my dorm days, LOL!!! But when I ran it past they hubby, he was not very happy about it. I booked the shared bathroom and after thinking about it, I just upgraded to a King suite with our own bathroom. At this point I had my husband thinking we were sharing a bathroom while in South Beach and had an OV cabin on the ship. Even though it was for my birthday....I LOVE surprising him. I think what attracted me most about the bed and breakfast was the heated, jetted pool that was in a small courtyard type setting. ANOTHER FIRST: First time staying at a bed and breakfast!!!

  15. Okay, I will start by pointing out that this was my 30th birthday cruise. It was really special because we were going to be in Nassau on the day of my birthday!!! It was initially supposed to be an all girls trip. I was a little hesitant about that because I am not used to sleeping away from my husband but I was going to try to get over it. My plan was to get a Grand Suite and invite my closest 4 friends, I was also concerned about 4-5 women sharing a room. Well the decision was made for me...there was too much back and forth and I wanted to make sure everyone was able to pay before final payment and it didn't look like it was going to happen. So I changed plans and decided that my husband and I would definitely go and I sent out a mass invite to EVERYONE, family AND friend....and whoever wanted to go could go and whoever didn't would just miss out, LOL!!!

HERE'S ANOTHER FIRST: For the first time, I paid for the trip in full AFTER final payment date. I wanted to see if there was a significant difference. The price did reduce by about $30 per person. Initially, I wanted a balcony but since the ship is older I noticed that most of the balcony cabins were aft and the ones that were mid ship seemed to be right under a active deck...I prefer balcony cabins that are mid ship and to have at least one deck between the deck that we're on and an active deck. So I purchased an OV, which would have also been a first had it not been for the upsell fairy!!!

But back to the planning. Again, I sent out a mass invite to a lot of people (about 20), in the end there seemed to be only 2 other people who would be able to make it. So that's what I made my travel plans around. Normally, my husband and I drive to Miami and then take a one way flight back home. So the other 2 people were on a bit of a tight budget so we decided it wouldn't be so bad to drive back since we would have 4 people to split the 9hr. 30min drive.

After purchasing the room, the first thing I checked was if FTTF was available...and it was!!! I was sooooo excited!!! I wasn't sure if it would be worth it on such a short cruise but I was willing to find out for only $49.95.

Upsell Fairy: About 2 weeks before the cruise...I received a call from the upsell fairy. The rep called about upgrading from the OV to a Grand Suite for $300 dollars. I did the calculations and I saved $300 in comparison to if I booked it by myself online....so I took it. I considered going with the extended balcony for and additional $50 but figured it was just my husband and I so we didn't need the additional balcony space. I told the rep that this was my first upsell call and that I actually read forums on CC about when people received the call...answers ranged from 1st cruise to 50th cruise. I was such a dork on the call...I literally called him the upsell fairy, LOL!!!

Now that I had the Suite, I had the tough decision of keeping FTTF or not...in the end, I decided to keep it!!! I would advise everyone, suite or not to get FTTF....BEST THING EVER!!!!

  16. So as stated in the title...This trip was full of firsts!! Before I get into that let me give you my background. I am 30, my husband is 32. This was my 5th cruise all but 1 with Carnival. This was my husband's 3rd, all but 1 with Carnival. My husband claims to be over cruising so I we can't go on anymore this year...yea, he's a bit of a grump, I mean who doesn't like vacationing? We don't have any kids...we are really just enjoying each other at this point in our lives/marriage. Okay, now that that's out the way on to the long lists of firsts.

    This trip included my first:

    --time purchasing FTTF

--time staying a day before the cruise (well, as an adult...I'll explain that later)

    --Upsell call

    --suite

    --time on a small ship

    --cruise less than 5 days

--itinerary that the ship stayed overnight

--time actually purchasing an excursion ahead of time (still haven't purchased one through Carnival...honestly probably never will)

    --review!!!!

  18. I have sailed on both Breeze and Getaway recently. Breeze May 2014 and Getaway November 2014. IMO I loved the Breeze more. I am a very active person and like to participate in lots of things. Getaway did not have a lot of activities going on throughout the day, don't get me wrong it was great to have so much down time, we napped a lot...could be considered the perfect vacation, lol!!! But there was still plenty to do with the ropes course, rock climbing wall, mini golf, and the array of water slides. And I did like that when there were activities they really involved those onboard. My husband enjoyed the stage shows more on Getaway more than Breeze...Both were equally entertaining to me, Breeze was more corny, but I'm a corny person so there u have it. We both like the food selection on Breeze better. There were LOTS of options on Getaway, however, nothing to write home about. We tried a lot of the for fee restaurants and we're not impressed. I liked the CD on both ships, both were high energy and engaged and attentive. However, I felt that the Breezes staff were overall more consistently fun and engaged. I enjoyed both experiences and now know if I'm looking for a more relaxed environment then Getaway would be perfect. If I'm looking to just plain have fun, then the Breeze would be my pick. Side note: I found the Getaway easier to navigate.

  19. Had my interview yesterday!!! It went extremely well...well enough that the interviewer went into salary details, relocation packages, and letting me know that if I was hired they would want me to start before the end of the month. I did not mention my cruise as he didn't ask if I had anything planned. As it stands I still don't know if I will be able to go...The suspense is killing me!!!

  20. They offered the extended balcony for $50 more...I figured we didn't need ALL that balcony space for just the 2 of us. Plus I'm nervous about the weather and not sure how much we will use the balcony. But I'm excited for all the extra space. "So much more room for activities!!!"--from the movie Stepbrothers lmao!!!

  21. Just received my first Upsell call, after 3 cruises with Carnival over an 11 year span, lol!!! This is for my upcoming 3 day ecstasy cruise on 01/23/15...my birthday cruise!! Anywho, I originally had an oceanview room on the upper deck, coincidentally 2 cabins down from a Grand Suite. I upgraded to a Grand Suite for $300 total for both mu husband and I. Before I booked I did a mock booking while on the phone with the rep and compared what I have already spent. He knocked off almost $350 off the room....I think I made a good decision. Not sure it was a great deal as the cruise will be a short one and not sure how much time we will be spending in cabin...but it will be our first time in a suite, so I figured what the heck!!! The rep was really great. I told him that I was just reading about the Upsell fairy on CC, he got a good laugh out of that. I told him that I hope I get a similar call when I plan my next cruise...more than likely on the Breeze again (just thought I'd put that out in the Upsell universe).
