A second jab is available for young teenagers where they are deemed vulnerable by you GP.  That might be a condition which they have making an infection potentially very serious or alternatively they live in close proximity to an elderly relative with a condition to which transmission of an infection might be very serious.  Some children are also registered as "carers" for adults within the household.  These are the only anomalies I believe might give rise to a young person receiving a second dose.

Ah I see, thank you, I'm really hoping we might get more options for 2022, I guess it's too early to tell.

  2. Are there any cruise lines I can take my teens on in 2022? I'm muddled with this, they all seem to need them to have had a second jab which I don't think the UK allows? Do I just hold off and wait, do I give up on cruising next year? Does anyone know of any cruise lines they're allowed on?

  3. Trying to work out if I can use my FCC of if I am better off getting a refund - I need your expertise!

I would like to use it next year for 2 separate cruises - 2nd August 4 days on Independence and 14th August on Brilliance, my queries are:

    A) would I be able to use it for both? My understanding is that I wouldn’t be able to apply it to the second cruise until the 7th Augustand that would be the week before sailing - would I be able to apply it then and get the the money I had already paid refunded?

    B) If so, I can’t work out what part of the balance owing  on the cruise I’ve booked includes taxes and fees or whether that was covered in the deposit ? I.e can the FCC be used for the entirety of the balance remaining or only what is left after minusing taxes and fees?

Thanks for any help with this!

  4. I loved the Rhapsody as an adult  for the customer service but my 10 year old has asked to sail on the bigger ships in future, there wasn't as much for him to do on Rhapsody, and I was shocked at the kids club cause it was quite a small empty room and the staff were heavily hinting to the kids that they might prefer to be with their families rather than in the kids clubs rather than trying to engage them which Is the first time I've ever experienced this on a cruise ship. My 10 year old spent a lot of time playing board games and cards with us, was nice to spend time with him but the ship was a bit of a disappointment in regards to kids activities.

We found the golf and basketball and arcade that were on Jewel made a big difference for him, they are not on Rhapsody. Travelled Rhapsody 2 years ago, Jewel last year.

  5. I think it depends on your personal preferences. I didn't find it funny, there wasn't any clues or puzzles to solve, there was no cleverness - I've loved the mystery dinners I've been to in the UK but this was nothing like that. There was just some jokes about boob jobs and a guy dressed up in a fat suit and a tired cliched mafia story. Honestly I'd rather have set fire the money and been in the MDR, however there were people there laughing and seemingly having a nice time so it must appeal to some people. I can't remember what time it was sorry.

  6. Honestly I hated it, it was so corny, and there were no actual clues where you could work out the mystery. I've done one in the UK and there were clever puzzles and it was very entertaining. On Jewel it was a badly acted cheesy stereotypical show, they then repeated the info they'd told you as monologues and then you could interrogate the suspects as they came round the table but they just told you the same info again and there wasn't actually any clues as to who did it or hidden clever stuff you literally guessed on a hunch. I wish Royal would go to a murder mystery evening on land and see how it's meant to be done.

  7. We sailed on Rhapsody a year ago and I honestly never noticed any problems with Rhapsody looking old or tired and our room was fine! I’m not massively picky but I think I would have noticed any problems! I personally loved Rhapsody, the customer service was probably the best of the ships that I’ve been on (Anthem, Jewel and Rhapsody).

To compare her to a 2 star hotel is just crazy and completely unfounded and unfair unless something major has occurred in the last year!!

  8. I think any holiday is what you make of it, my 10 year old has loved any cruise we've been on, they just need to make one friend and they're set! And to be honest if that didn't work he'd have a blast hanging out with us instead. I'd take some cards/board games for if it was too cold to be out by the pool and we always travel with his ipad for if he needs some downtime. I'm not sure which ship you're looking at but we went on Anthem on a colder cruise and he absolutely loved the table tennis, dodgems and video game area.

  9. Hello,

I'm getting a bit stressed trying to pick cabins on Jewel of the Seas as we're looking for connecting interior cabins with another cabin ideally next door, I got offered some on deck 9 but the third cabin was quite a way away or deck seven where the cabins are nicely together but it looks like they're underneath the cinema, it's 7553, 7555 and 7557, my boys will be trying to sleep about 10pm so unsure if this is going to be too noisy - does anyone on here have any experience of those cabins by any chance? Thanks for any advice

Excuse the inaccurate title of the thread, I originally thought the cabins were located further down the ship and now I can't work out how to edit the title!!

  10. Hi, has anyone any experience of sailing Jewel or Legend with children? are there family activities? had a bad experience on P&O a few years back as by a 'family friendly' ship they meant you could leave your children penned away in the kids club but felt they weren't really included anywhere else. We tried Anthem last year and it was awesome, so much we could do as a family and had a really good family atmosphere. Do Jewel and Legend have a family vibe or are they geared more toward the older demographic ? (Would really like to see Greece next year) Thanks for any help!

  11. Are these meant to be on sale to the general public now? Because after long patient wait I managed to get a list up of cruises for August 2017 on the UK website, and then changed the search to show prices for 2 adults and 2 children and now it'll only show me 2016.

Beyond frustrated with this right now. Desparately trying to hold in my head how wonderful the experience is once you're on board and that it's all worth it!

  12. Apologies I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I couldn't find the info! We're taking a 3 days cruise on the Dream out of Port Canaveral in November, on departure day we don't fly out till 8pm - Do you think there's time to go to one of the Parks? Has anyone done this?

  13. Michael Bayley's email is given earlier in the thread - mbayley@rccl.com

It is via emailing this I was passed onto someone at the American branch who empathised and was keen to try and resolve it positively. Interestingly, the American side apologised for the mistake and did not make any attempts to claim it never happened, instead they apologised for the mistake that had been made by their 'worldwide partners' in advertising DreamWorks as being on board. Luckily I had booked through a US travel agent as I never received another reply to any emails sent to the UK branch after I proved that Craig Masters' was telling a lie.
