    Did you reserve a cabana?

We did not reserve a cabana. When my sister called the consultant didn't even realize you could book Vibe passes over the phone.

  2. We were able to secure Vibe passes and I’m curious if our prepaid beverage package is able to be used while we’re in the Vibe Club? Is food included while we’re there? I’m trying to figure out what the $100 credit is to be used for 🙂

Frankly, the only cruise line I found that was pretty up front was Celebrity.  They tell you they’re “all inclusive” sailings have no hidden charges.  And, they’re right.  I didn’t pay a nickel for drinks, they included tips, and they give an OBC to cover some Specialty Dinning venues and perhaps an excursion or two.  They’re fares tend to be higher (except they have a great solo fare sale going on right now).

I absolutely love Celebrity. No hidden charges, port fees returned for missed ports and excellent itineraries and food.

  4. I also "jumped ship" to NCL...biggest mistake I've made this year. Our cruise has unexplained port cancellations, a new port with an arrival time of 4:00pm-11:00pm and an absolute refusal to return post fees for the cancelled ports. Other ships are docking on the same dates at the same ports and when we booked the Breakaway was the only ship scheduled to be in those ports. So now we basically have 4 sea days which is a cruise to nowhere.

Wishing you better luck than we had.

It might block someone’s view or be a hazard if it blew off.

I wouldn't use it if it was windy but there's definitely a shade shortage. Hopefully we can snag a Vibe pass, that seems to be where they're hoarding their sun umbrellas.

  6. Hi All,

We are sailing on the July 17th sailing on the Breakaway. Can a person use an individual size travel umbrella that clips to your lounger? This cruise recently became sea days heavy and I know shade is in short supply, especially when my travel mates are sun worshipers...thanks 🙂

  7. Hi, I actually live on PEI and your ship will dock right in downtown Charlottetown. You may need to tender in as there is only room for one ship. You'll be in the heart of the city where you can wonder around on foot exploring shops, restaurants and attractions. You may need to book a distillery tour privately if there is not an excursion option. Enjoy your visit!

  8. A visit to the home of Anne of Green Gables is a rite of passage when visiting PEI. You will need to travel to Cavendish, approximately 45 minutes from Charlottetown. Charlottetown is a very walkable city and there is lots to see and do while in port. The Father’s of Confederation will be walking around, have ice cream at Cow’s and go on a hunt for all of the “mice” hidden in and about. There’s an art gallery and Victoria Row is a great spot to eat and shop.

Our tour was not crowded...it was just 4 of us and our guide. We loved this tour and would highly recommend it ...it was really special!

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Your recommendation has me ready to book this tour 🙂

our tour was called "Barbados Cruise Excursions Green Monkeys Earthworks Pottery and Beach Day"

We are considering this tour. Was it large group tour and did you enjoy it? Hearing some mixed reviews and would love to know what you thought.

    Thanks!

  11. I was just there last week and the beach right off of the ship rents them for $20. You pay your money and they give you a flag to identify where you're at, in a matter of minutes he was there to set it up for us. It was the perfect way to spend the day in Grand Turk!

  12. We're booked here for Feb.28 and I'm second guessing this decision. When I started looking I was surprised by the prices for hotels in downtown Miami, especially adding the exchange rate to Canadian currency. I'll be anxious to here all your thoughts on the hotel. We're booked in a Bay-view king room and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's big enough to move around in!
