  1. My sister and her husband are on this cruise for their honeymoon. Heard from her around time orig. thread owner posted. She said the ship is full of kids, room is sub par, and their table count preferences were not met. Plus onboard shops have remained closed while stuck in port, so unable to purchase some forgotten items. Due to the technical problems the ship is skipping the first stop-which means they lose out on their booked all-day tour and will be at sea for 2 straight days if the ship leaves today as rescheduled.

Hopefully for all, things will only go better.

Cabin on Reflection "sub-par"???? I don't think so. How could that be?

  2. I agree...It is fun to do the door. We always try to bring something representing our state or locality. We like to decorate for holidays and special occasions. Like someone said, those halls get long and boring and I'll admit that at times I have gone right on by my cabin. So now I discreetly decorate the door.

  3. We bring too much luggage and truly need a car service. It is a two week cruise and we probably will have three large pieces of luggage and two carry-on's. How far away approximately is the Airport in Ft. Lauderdale to Miami? Any estimate?

    Thanks

My question would be....Why so much luggage? We do 14 nights usually but wouldn't dream of trying to handle that much luggage.

  4. What if it had been you or I needing to be rescued? What would we have thought if the ship went by going to Mexico and didn't take the time to rescue us? Personally if this was my cruise I would be disappointed but would totally understand and choose to go with the flow. We have missed ports before and it wasn't a big deal to us.

  5. Just read another jeans post on here and wanted to share my opinion for what its worth..First, I'm an old lady and yes I do wear jeans, nice-hopefully stylish- ones that fit well. Personally I see nothing wrong with wearing a nice pair of jeans anywhere! Goodness knows they cost enough! A nice pair of jeans dressed up with a pretty top, some jewelry or a scarf, maybe a jacket or sweater, some dressy pumps, heels or flats, a woman can look classy and definitely be considered "smart casual"! Same goes for a man if he wears a nice shirt and maybe a nice jacket. Don't see why this wouldn't work in any country or any cruise ship if done appropriately based on local customs or ship required attire. I do not feel the same way about the fashionable jeans worn by some which are ragged, full of holes, and tight as a rubber band. Not many ways to dress that up. So that's my feeling about jeans. Maybe it will help some soul make a decision about whether or not to wear them. Happy cruising everyone!

  6. During Easter week traffic is going to be much heavier, hotel rooms are going to be fewer and more expensive. I would check the airlines again. That is a long, hard trip even from South Carolina. Kind of ruins your cruise afterward when you know you're facing that long drive home. The price of fuel, the increased rates at the hotels, extra meals, etc., are all reasons why we have decided to never drive it again. Keep checking those flights every few hours. Maybe something wil open up. Good luck and safe travels.

  7. According to reliable information and common sense, some of the worse places germs are located in a restroom...These are some of the things you touch immediately after using the toilet. You should be very conscious of these things especially if there is noro on board.

    Germs on:

Not so much the toilet seat but the handle if you have to manually flush.

The toilet stall door slide lock/handle.

The faucet handle. (Remember to wash your hands 20 seconds)

    The soap dispenser handle.

The exit door handle. (Use your paper towel to open the door as you leave)

Why? Because after you use the toilet, those are the things you touch before washing your hands. Sad to say a lot of people don't follow these simple steps. Hygiene 101

  8. This is probably the unpopular stance on this subject, but it's soley my opinion so here it goes.

Even if a person does smell the herbal scent. What's the big deal on just walking by and letting it be ? To each his own. I seriously doubt that anyone bringing a little herbal-essance onto the ship is going to be trying to deal it. I'm quite sure the amount would be minimal and they are not going to want to sell or share. Their stash is golden.

I may be flamed by this, but like the songs says, Just walk on by and Let it be. MYOB. It may be illegal, but how is it directly affecting you ?

If your standing close enough to smell it, the worst that could happen would be and extra trip or two to the buffet. There are better things to do on the ship then try to directly police others.

BTW: my above opinion is for on the ship, that is, if one is successful in getting their herbs on. I would never buy or try to bring any herb products on or off the ship in a port of call.

    .

I read your statement but I have a question....What about the stated rules? Are they not in place for all passengers? Is it a gold star reward for somebody to secretively break this rule or any other rule? Don't know why the rest of us should walk by or "turn the other cheek". That would be my personal opinion.

  9. I've smelled pot on at least one cruise. I'm pretty sure I've smelled it on all 3 cruises I've been on actually. The cabin next to us was smoking it on their balcony. I'm not a smoker but I wouldn't report them. What they do on their own time is up to them. To me I don't know why you'd risk it. My father is a smoker, he has chronic pain and even he wouldn't risk taking any on vacation with him. Its just not worth the possible consequences.

I disagree with your statement....What people do on their balcony is their business until it affects me, then it becomes my business and yes I would report it without hesitation.
