I didn't realize that this would turn into a touchy subject, lol! I enjoy the buffet as an option, however I was thinking outside of the box.... More options, smaller eateries, waste management (to say the least), etc.

Perhaps better wording, I was thinking of the big picture.

Virgin Voyages have done away with buffets...No charges $$ in any restaurants

Obviously the buffet quality sucks on most cruise lines, so much food and money is wasted, flu's, noro, etc. shared with everyone!

Isn't it time for the buffets to go away and have smaller eateries (food courts)? So much space is wasted in the buffet area! More free food options, smaller portions=saved money by the cruise lines.

IDK, it's been on my mind and wondering if I'm the only one that feels this way!

I also have a problem with the word"class" as it has so many connotations. What other people wear has nothing to do with me so why should I care?

    Pat

It has the exact connotation that was implied and herein lies the problem...the cruise industry has become ubiquitous so that anybody can do it and I'm statiscally poor but class and good manners cost nothing.  And finally to all thoses persons intent on showing off your cheesy toes in the formal dining rooms, (not that I care),  you will be singing a different tune when a hot plate or soup falls on you...btw "common sense" is not common!

  4. If there is a less formal one they should be directed there for dinner :)

It still bothers me that people actually care what others are wearing when on vacation as well, it has nothing to do with how good a time you will have or the food you will eat. Plus some of us have to wear a suit and tie every day for work so you don’t want to wear that same attire to your vacation

Also once seated you can’t even see if people are wearing shorts it is only the 30 seconds as they walk in :')

"It used to be called class and good manners." You'll be hard-pressed to find those standards onboard any longer, sadly...
