I’m looking at their website italytours.eu and I can’t find any excursions to Cinque Terre. Is this the company you used? Was it a private or small group? Thanks!

They do not post it! Someone on the ship emailed them and asked if they went there and they said yes, but the group would need to be a certain number. We were a group of 11, I think. You just need to email them, then post the info onto your cruise board and others will surely want to go. When ItalyTours gets enough people, they will confirm the reservation. Its really very simple. Our guide was terrific and there was plenty of time to do a bit of shopping here and there, lunch in Nice, stroll along the beach at the Cote d'Azure, walking into the Grand Casino, seeing where Prince Rainier and Princess Grace lived, etc. Have a wonderful time!

  2. I used this company three times on my recent HAL cruise around the Mediterranean.  ARLES, LES BAUX, St REMY & AVIGNON out of Marseilles, BEST OF CINQUE TERRE out of Livorno, and THE BEST OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA out of Monaco. Communication between the company and myself and others on the tours was spot on.  These smaller groups were a great way for me to get to better know my fellow cruise travelers, as well. These were small groups in comfortable small vans and coaches (as opposed to 60 people on big buses where most of your time is waiting to get on and off the bus) and where able to drive right up to places of interest. The tour guides were all very nice and knowledgeable. The places they took us were wonderful and I learned so much. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future.

  3. Hello everyone,

I got quotes from 2 companies thus far: romeinlimo as well as Italytours.eu.Rome in limo is a bot pricier, but if I put that aside fro a minute, which company would you recommend> I saw rave reviews for romeinlimo on this site. Italy tours.eu has some reviews, but they are mostly a bit older. They do offer a tour guide included in their price, but I just want to make sure the excursion is high quality and I will not be missing anything out. Thank you in advance for your help. This is my first time booking something independently , so I want to make sure we get what we need from the tours. Thank you in advance

    Hi Angelik,

I'm leaving on a HA cruise in 6 weeks and traveling from Italy to Spain and we are looking into some tours with Italytours. Could you let me know if you did use them for any excursions and how you liked them? I hope ya'll had a great trip. Thanks so much. Beth

  4. Princess and HAL have pretty much the same demographics in Alaska. When cruising solo, price is more important to me than the age of the other passengers on the ship.

Roz, I'm with you regarding the price of a cruise vs. the age of the other passengers.

  5. Hey Denatravels, I just noticed you're doing a Koningsdam sail of northern isles and Viking sagas. Is that terribly expensive as a single, or do you have a roommate? Those kinds of trips are just too out of my league as a single traveler. Did you use a TA? Sure would like to know and would appreciate any help. Thanks and happy journeys, Beth

  6. I've done 2 solos to Alaska - one on HAL and one on Carnival. Both were great. Met a few solos on both. Alaskan cruises are more about the destination than the ship, and people are more into the port excursions and activities than onboard goings on.

I just returned from a Princess Ruby cruise to Alaska and can't wait to go back. So all I have is knowledge about this Princess cruise regarding Alaska, although I have done European, Mediterranean, and Caribbean cruises. When cruising Alaska, everything starts way early in the morning. That being said, many people were pretty low keyed in the evenings on the ship after a day of sight seeing and excursions in the Alaska ports. Having traveled after most schools had started, it was a relief to me not to have a bunch ch of kids running around. There were indoor and outdoor movies, several lounges, several naturalist events (which greatly added to our cruise), and many other things to do if you were up to it. As a 54 year old who is very friendly, I had no problem drumming up conversations and buddies with whom to spend some free time. But I also found myself winding down after dinner on board lying in a lounge chair, covered with a blanket and eating popcorn, cookies and white Russians while waching Movies Under the Stars. I too are looking for another cruise to Alaska in 2016. Beth

  7. Just off the Ruby Princess. both of us out of 7 day cruise 4 days in cabin...That's it for Princess.I heard from dock worker one is coming in tomorrow CDC wants cleaned top to bottom will see if the news says anything......

Sorry ya'll got sick. Norovirus usually lasts 1-3 days but in the young, the elderly, and those with chronic medical conditions or who are immunosuppressed, the dehydration can cause more serious consequences and symptoms. Hope all is well now.
