Has anyone done an early morning test (e.g. after midnight) East Coast time? What was the wait?
My husband and I did it right after midnight east coast and had no wait at all. The whole process took less than 20 min.

Thank you all. I guess I was just looking for a good faith gesture to loyal cruisers.
Oh well.
We did the same thing, having to Lift and shift a Feb 2022 cruise that they cancelled to Feb the following year. We were rather annoyed when RC initially told us we would not get double points, but did say that they were still considering changing that for people who had no choice about their cancelled cruise.
Fingers crossed

Can't some of them just park themselves at Coco Cay or Labadee? They wouldn't have to pay port fees there, although I don't know what the food situation would be. Just a thought

Or you might get lucky like we did on the Hurricane Dorian cruise last August. We were on a 7 day on the Harmony that turned into an 11 day cruise because the all ports were closed in Florida.
We had perfectly smooth seas, beautiful sunshine and warm weather. Only drawback was we did have to go to Cozumel three times because of limited docking space for all the ships waiting out the storm.
One of our best cruises ever!!!
We were similar, had an extended 11 day cruise on Empress and they added two extra ports, Grand Cayman and Roatan. PLus to top things off, because they had to cancel our day at Coco Cay, we got FCC for that one day.
It was an awesome trip!

We were in a junior suite on Empress on deck 9 in August. Yes, the showers are small, but if you know that going in they're not too bad. I've certainly had smaller ones on other ships.
Enjoy your cruise, we loved our hurricane Dorian extended time on her, she's a wonderful ship!

We were there last month and went to Maya Chan resort. We had a wonderful time, great food and drinks but you do need to make a reservation. Have fun!

Having done Radiance a few years ago I completely agree to get a balcony, but also plan on being up top to get other views. We did a northbound out of Vancouver and enjoyed the build up but we also did a land tour after the cruise and while I understand what people say about relaxing on the cruise after the land tour it doesn't make that much of a difference. In my opinion, the most important thing was doing a land tour. If I was going all the way to Alaska I wanted to see more than just the coast. Our 2 days in Denali were absolutely amazing!! I actually most regret not doing a longer land portion.
Whatever you decide though, I know you'll love it!

We're sailing on Empress for the first time the end of August. I'm loving your review and all the photos!

I found that price also for my cruise which isn't until Nov. of 2020. I was sure that I was misreading something. I hope they honor it seeing as they've already charged my credit card. Fingers Crossed!

I didn't mean to restrict this post to just "incident" related questions. It was just a big issue before our cruise so I thought I would be able to report back on the damage to the ship for those that have cruises after us. Any and all questions are welcome, I will do my best to answer them all.
Thanks for updating us on the condition of the ship, I'm so glad your sailing went off without a hitch and that the ship is in good shape. How was the weather? It looks like it might be cooler than I had thought. We sail on the 19th.
Thanks

Would love to see the cruise compasses, can you send me in the right direction? Maybe a DM as I think I read that Facebook is a dirrty word here?
I couldn't figure out how to DM you on cruise critic, I'm not sure if its allowed. But hopefully without getting into any trouble, the cruise compasses are in the group "Oasis of the seas Cruisers past, present and future".
Hope you can find them.

Hi Cruisers! We are sailing May 19, 2019 on the Oasis, out of Barcelona. I haven't seen any postings from people who were on the most recent sailing regarding any visible damage to the ship from the port accident. Has anyone posted a review from the May 3rd cruise? Just wondering if they were able to repair all of the damage and if all venues were open, as promised.
We are sailing on the 19th as well. I haven't seen anything from the May 5th cruise on cruise critic, but I have seen a few posts to an Oasis facebook group. One gentlemen has been posting the cruise compasses from each day which has been very informative. He hasn't mentioned seeing any remaining damage so hopefully we'll have a great sailing!

I'm really enjoying reading your report. We leave Thursday for our trip which includes a land portion in Denali and Fairbanks. I love all the details you included. Thanks!!

We have just returned from our northbound Radiance OTS and took a bus tour to the white pass summit, into Carcross, and to emerald lake. We booked outside of the cruise line, with Frontier excursions, who were excellent and our guide Mike was also great and knowledgable. Our tour was amazing, we saw three bears along the side of the road and we stopped for pictures of all three of them and the scenery was outstanding. I have never done the train, but I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to stop at the sight of wildlife.
We're going to be on the Radiance northbound at the end of June and booked the same tour with Frontier Excursions. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour, hopefully we'll get Mike as our tour guide also.
I'm wondering when you got back from the tour? Did you have any time left to wander around Skagway, or was it cutting it too close to having to be back on the ship. We're supposed to be leaving port at 4:30, but I'd like a little time to see the town.
Thanks

Thank you so much for posting your review!! I love reading them.
We are also doing the Misty Bay lodge whale watch in ISP, now I'm even more excited about it!

We went on the 3A tour- first we went to the Sealife Center and got to walk downtown/ back on bus to docks for lunch. ate at Rays- Seafood chowder was excellent.
Then about 2 hours on bus to Alyeska resort. Gorgeous 5 star hotel. Tram ride was amazing views. Snow on top of mountain.
THen took hotel free shuttle into town and had Pizza at Chair 5. Good Pizza.
We left Alyeska at 11:00am and drove 1 hour to Anchorage and we had two hours at the 4th street market (flea market). There was a halibut food stand that was in the back row- had the best food. A little pricey for a flea market.
We left at 2:00 with 2-1/2 hour ride to Talkeetna. Quirky little town.
We did the Flightseeing to Mt McKinley with Glacier landing. Very pricey- K2 Aviation. Awesome sites- we were the only ones to see Mt McKinley from air.
Worth the money. Especially if this is your only time in Alaska.
We got dropped off in town. We missed the last shuttle to hotel, but if you eat at Denali Brewing company they get you a free taxi,
Some people did the Jetboat tour an didn't like it.
We stayed at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. A little rustic, but still top notch hotel.
No safe in room.
Then we got on bus at 8:00am to Denali around 2-1/2 hours. We had lunch at the visitors center. Then did the upgrade Tundra Wilderness tour at 1:00 pm
We were done around 8:00 then that bus takes you to hotel. We saw lots of animals. All were on the left side of bus. Grizzly bears with baby, caribou, ptarmigan, moose, article squirrels, Dall sheep with babies.
We stayed at McKinley Alaskan Lodge.
Awesome views. No safe and no fridge in room. Shower with no tub.
Great restaurant. Take a walk - river and mt. View behind the hotel.
Nice decking -
Some people did puppy homestead- loved it- nice place-good stories.
Others did Atv tour- fun but dirty.
Got on dome train wilderness Express at noon to Anchorage. Loved the train.
We shared a lunch and had a nice dinner. (Request to eat dinner on first round so you can relax an maybe have an after dinner drink before arriving.
Arrived at 8:00 pm- went to Downtown Marriott. Typical Marriott. No safe.
Pricey breakfast buffet- but the best service we ever had.
Originally we were going to rent a car and go back toward Girdwood, but it was a yucky rainy day. We took the City Trolly tour $20 pp. Awesome tour. Saw moose and baby. Then we saw FREE movies about the Railroad, Earthquake, & Gold rush in the federal Building across the street from visitors center.
Our flight was at 9:30pm.
We had Patricia as a guide and Lou the Bus driver.
Hope this helped. I am finishing a review with pictures and will post soon.
Have a great time.
Thank you so much for all that information!!!! It will be so helpful to just have an idea of the way things will work. I'm getting more and more excited for our cruise
and the cruisetour. 3 1/2 weeks to go!
I can't wait to read your full review and pictures, it sounds like you had a wonderful time!

I was just on the First Northbound Radiance of the Seas with 4 Day cruise tour..May 16 - May 27
I am sorting 3000 pictures and I am starting a report, but if anyone has any questions... I would be happy to answer if I could.
Lynn
We're doing a northbound with the 4 day cruise tour at the end of June also. I'd love any info about the cruisetour, where you stayed, ate, what time you got places etc.
Thanks!!
