Wife and I  from the UK looking to go on this ship Nov 2024 12 nights Beauty in Bonaire cruise from Miami.

This would be the most expensive cruise we have ever booked, it's for my 70th birthday but looking at the many negative reviews on quite a few different sites about Regent  it's putting us off now. .

Before we went on our 1st Regent cruise, that was also for my 70th, I felt like all I was reading were negative comments.  I was very worried with all the comments that we might have made an expensive mistake.  Just know it was the most wonderful cruise we had ever taken.  We will be leaving for our third cruise with Regent next month and have learned to ignore the negative comments.  Those comments come from the people that assume they are entitled.   Don't read the negative comments and you will learn the names and just skip over their remarks.

    Have a wonderful time.

Two Regent noobs boarding Dec 21, MIA-LA.  I think I've worn out Youtube watching every RSSC video I can find.  Excitement is building. Secure in the knowledge we will have a marvelous time(we always do, that's the frame of mind we bring to every lux cruise.)

    See you on board!!

I want to let everyone know about my experience this morning with the Regent Air department. I was out of bed early to call right away when they opened. We live out West, and it was 210 days out for our cruise. I called right when the clock turned over at 6 AM. The phone was answered immediately and I was connected with an agent. I had done lots of homework on flights thanks to the cruise critic community. I was asked which airline/flights I preferred. She offered me one that had no up charge right away. She then looked through many other flights to find one that had a small up charge ($400) with a good layover time. It goes directly to Frankfort from SFO and has a 3 hour layover/cushion before going to Barcelona. She worked diligently to find us this itinerary with good arrival and departure times. On the way back, we were able to book the one nonstop flight from Rome with no up charge. She was very patient and our interactions were wonderful! I was immediately sent an email confirming our flights and seats. I can’t say enough about how great she was. My experience was awesome!! Kudos to the air department!!

Would you please share the direct phone number for the Regent Air department?

    Thank you

I'm really happy to see your report on Icelandair.  I'm flying to Iceland at the end of the month and I also arrive at 6am, which will be midnight for me.  I'm counting on trying to get some sleep, but I was worried because others have reported that they had trouble sleeping. Do the seats recline enough that your head doesn't keep falling forward when you nod off?

Yes, the seats do recline.  I have to admit it was a comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised.

We are on board and enjoying a glass of champagne. First time on Icelandair, seats are very comfortable with a blanket, pillow, Iceland water and an amenity kit at the seat.  Not bad for a 5 hour flight!

Totally argree with you regarding Icelandair.  Very surprised with the comfort and service on board.

We did fly overnight and even though the seats did not lay flat, they were comfortable enough to get some sleep.  We fly non-stop from Portland to Reykjavik and arrived at 6am.

Hi all, taking our first Regent cruise on Grandeur, Dec 21, Mia-LA. We have two sea days that occur on Sundays.  From what I've read, this means a grand buffet featuring caviar(asking for the spouse.)  However I've also read that this only happens once a cruise.  So can we expect one included caviar feast or two?  Guidance appreciated.  (The Sundays fall on Dec 24 and Jan 31, so I'm guessing, if it's one, that'll be NYE.)  Correct my logic if I'm wrong.

Also, appreciate guidance on booking the specialties.  Specifically, I'm thinking of booking P7 the first night, as I suspect CR will get very busy(although I'm sure they handle the crush just fine.)  We tend to dine later when cruising, around 8:30.  Hoping that dining time also works for Sette Mari on other evenings.

And if you want to tell me I'm over thinking this, why, yes, I am.  That's part of the fun for us.

We are also on this same cruise and looking forward to it!  Following for the answer.....

Good news! We've been on Navigator since 4/21.  NO "brown water" problems.  Or any other functional problems for that matter. Crew is phenomenal.   Dining is excellent.   So glad to be back onboard this little gem 💎

Thank you for the update and positive news!  We will be boarding her in July!

Thank you for this!  This will be our first Regent cruise, and the cooking classes are something we very much look forward to.  I've managed to snag a couple thanks to your post.

Non-snarky question: Regent let me know when we can book excursions and optional dining.  I'm not aware of seeing anything about this date for the cooking classes, either in "my account" or via email.  Am I missing something?

You are not missing anything…. I learned from our first Regent cruise last October it’s just shows up.
I have been checking weekly and decided to check today.  I also snagged two today.  They are great and fun.

Hi, we sailed on Splendor in November 2021, but I didn't see our PH -606 updated, so thought I'd add.  I think you have most of the information, so here is the bathroom:  large shower, double sink, no separation for commode, step up entry from bedroom or walk-in closet.  Comments:  walk-in closet accessible from main room (flat) or bathroom (step); lists for 3 ppl, but large enough for 4 (IMO), right outside stairwell, so easily accessible to other floors.  No noise noted.

Hello, missed your previous review regarding PH-606.  We will be in this suite on the Splendor in October, would you mind reposting the whole review?  Thank you in advance.

  10. UUNetBill, we could not agree with you more on all points.  We are so sick of the entitled and complainers.  People have complained about the covid testing prior to boarding and not are complaining that it is being stopped.  We are now being  pickier  what we read.

We are grateful to be retired and able to travel.

    Life is to short ...........

At last, our much delayed and much anticipated trip has arrived.  We were scheduled for this in June 2020.  Obviously that didn’t happen.  I was getting worried about this time, but it is a go.

As usual, we had precruise drama, but this time, far more serious and far reaching.  You can read about it in the news.  Won’t go into details here, but it happened where I work every day, and I lost a close friend.  So I have been stressed to the max.  I am hoping the cruise will be the tonic for recovery.

We are currently in the Flagship lounge in Chicago after a totally uneventful and ahead of time flight on AA.  We fly to Madrid on Iberia then on to Tel Aviv.  I haven’t flown Iberia in several years, but it is supposed to have gotten better.  The tickets were using miles and a bargain as far as miles go.  We have a long layover in Madrid so plan to visit Parque Retiro and walk around some to fight jet lag.

i had not been in the Chicago Flagship lounge since pre covid.  It is totally remodeled and very nice.  Big buffet is on offer with good choices as well as a self serve wine and beer bar,  also with good choices.  Not crowded at all. So far so good.

masks were not required on the AA flight, but I have some in my tote bag just in case we need them.

i will as usual report every day, so I am happy to answer any questions or check on anything people want to know.

RachelG, condolences on you loss and having to go through such a trying time.

Have a restful and wonderful cruise.

Will be following along, and thank you in advance for your postings.

My wife and I are booked on our 1st Regent  cruise departing Miami,  March 25. As part of our package we see we were promised  “luxury overnight hotel stay, breakfast and transfer to the ship”

Our TA Advises that the hotel(s) Regent uses In Miami are full and they are refunding  $150 per person in lieu. In checking availability for Miami hotels at the four-star and up level range from about $550 a night to over $3000. With Regent’s  “allowance”, that will get us at the Marriott courtyard near the airport, breakfast at McDonalds and an Uber to the Ship. A Check of rates show no hotels as being sold out. Just very pricey.

I am wondering had there been “room” what hotel does Regent use in Miami? Any other suggestions?

We have not sailed on Regent yet, but have three booked cruises and this is what we have found on Regents site.

Log into Regent and click on Manage this Booking

    click on My Itinerary

scroll down and it should show a calendar of your itinerary

the first day should show Pre and name of the hotel

You can also call Regent to confirm the information you received from your TA.

    Hope this works for you
