We did the Celebrity Silhouette for 9 nites on 2/14. Loved the cruise. We were the first on the ship after of month of dry dock.

No issues at all with Uber. Driver was there in about 4 minutes after contacting Uber.  We were at the pier in less than 10 minutes.

In Nov there was a $2.00 charge on our bill for shuttle from airport to Hyatt.

The cost of hotel shuttle from hotel to pier was $8pp . We just took Uber to port for $7 total.

Used Uber to port from Hyatt Place in mid Nov without any issues at all.

We got this exact same message yesterday about the medallions being shipped.

We have been on four T/A cruises from Europe to Fort Lauderdale. Now however. Princess seems to have given up on T/A cruises returning to Fort Lauderdale as I could not find maybe 1 or 2 at the most. They seem to be going elsewhere on the return, several to N.Y. Looking at fall of 2018 cruises.

 

Found one from Copenhagen but the airfare to get to Copenhagen was absurd. I have about 150,000 Delta Skymiles which seem to be worthless on most international travel (some seats in cattle car coach). The Delta fare to Copenhagen was $3022 each coach. :(

We flew from Boston to Copenhagen in Sept of this year on British Airways for $201pp using EZAir. Very pleased with flights.

Does anyone have any experience with disembarking at the Brooklyn Cruise Port in NY?

Does Princess provide shuttles to Penn Station? I mean shuttle you pay for while on the ship?

I called Princess, and they said no. I realize you can get different responses depending upon the agent you are dealing with on the phone. A friend of a friend said that last year when the Regal TA arrived, Princess did have buses to book.

True. And at that point you could take the ferry's free cross-town bus.

There is a 10am and a 1 pm train to RI.

Friends took this cruise last September and told us Princess offered a bus to Penn Station. They found that out while on the ship. I called Princess and was told no bus to Penn Station.

It looks like you are 4 people coming in on a transatlantic with stops in Boston and Newport before New York.

 

You should have already done customs in Boston. The ship arrives at 6 am. If you can self disembark with your luggage, a 10 am train should be doable. I would book a car service. How much luggage will you have? You have to specify the amount of luggage so that you get an appropriate sized vehicle.

 

If you're from Rhode Island, it might be a lot easier and less expensive to see if you can just disembark in Newport the day before.

I contacted Princess months ago about disembarking in Newport. The response was there are no facilities for us to clear customs etc.

Disembarking at Brooklyn Cruise port on a Sat morning in late September.We would like to take a 10am train to RI from Penn Station. Is this doable?

How long is the drive? Are travel options available at the port to get us to Penn Station?

Our status match took over 2 weeks!

There seems to be a considerable difference in the amount of time MSC takes to respond. Guess it is just "wait and see"!

Jim and I just got an email from MSC with our black card status which was matched with Princess Elite. It took almost 3 weeks. Patience is not one of my virtues!

I just applied for the status-match using my Princess Elite membership and have not received a reply as yet (3 days), but I assume I will receive Black status on MSC from what I read on these boards. The MSC rewards program does not compare to the rewards program on other cruise lines such as Princess and Holland America. I'm in the top level of both programs and they offer free laundry, free internet (PCL) , and 50% on wine packages (HAL) in addition to other benefits such as priority boarding, etc. MSC is about the only cruise line to offer Mediterranean cruises in February, so that is why we selected them. We are mainly looking at itineraries and value for the money when we book a cruise. Depending on the experience with this cruise we will book with MSC again despite the rewards program on the other lines.

Hi Ron,

Jim and I just applied for the status match on MSC using our Princess Elite. I have read it matches for Black on MSC. It has ben 5 days, and we have not heard anything yet.

Will be disembarking the Regal Princess on 9/22. Would like to take Amtrak to RI that day. What options will be available? Does anyone know if Princess offers a bus to Penn Station?

Is Uber an option? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there anyone who has disembarked in Brooklyn and wanting to take a train or bus home to RI or Boston?

There are 4 of us leaving the Regal Princess TA on Sept 23rd and need transportation back to RI. Princess does not provide any transportation.

We are interested in the train or bus to Providence.

Has anyone experience with this?

Two weeks ago the playoff game was shown in all cabins and on the big screen on the Royal.

The week before that it was also shown in all cabins as well. We just got off the B2B on the Royal on 1/29.
