  1. I am new to HAL and have a couple of questions:

    1. Open seating on the NS. How does this work. I can come at any time or is there a time slot after the first fixed seating (this is what I understood from earlier posts here). It indicates table any size. Can I change this to table for 2 and where could I change it? Can I make a reservation in the MDR for open seating?

    2. How do I notify food intolerances in advance. I found a phone number on the HAL website. Is there another way or is it sufficient to notify it on-board?

  2. Hi there,

I have a couple of questions with regards to the Crown Princess.

    1. Is it shabby and in poor condition?

    2. What is the quality of the food?

    3. What is the current state of the entertainment in Crooners and Adagio? Are there regular performances?

    Thanks

We stayed on board for 38 days between end of November and beginning of January. We found the ship to be in a very good condition. We moved balcony cabins twice and everything was as expected.

We found the food to be excellent, much better than on previous cruises. We mainly used the MDR. The few times we went to the buffet, much more choices than an our previous MED cruise on Emerald and very good quality.

There was a piano player in Crooners. I don't remember if there was anything taking place in Adagio. Overall, I would rate the entertainment to be average.

Overall, we found this one of our best cruises ever. The crew is very friendly. If you miss anything, just let them know and you'll get it.

  3. My main concern was leaving a box with the porters at port everglades, and if there is any issues having delivered to the cabin. I can't see a problem myself. Think I'll just take the chance

I took my race bike on a Med cruise last year. I had it in a special bike bag with 'handle with care' stickers. Delivery to and from the stateroom was fine. I kept it on the balcony during the night, covered with pool towels. But the balcony was actually high enough, so no issue with spraying sea water. And also no rain during the cruise. I kept the bag in the space for the clothes. This should be big enough to also accommodate the carton you might use. I enquired with Princess before if it was ok to bring a bike and they said yes.

  4. Approaching 50 cruises, I think we are on cruise 49.

The vast majority of which we booked last-minute.

No frills, no perks, no nothing to worry about.

Just off the Crown Princess on 11/17 from a 28-day LA-Hawaii-South Pacific-LA cruise which we booked 30-days within sailing and "only" paid $3998 total for the 2 of us (port charges and taxes/fees included) for a great balcony cabin.

Those "free" promos come with a price tag built into the cost of the cruise.

The "only" freebies we received were:

$300 from 2 future cruise certificates

    $250 military benefit

    $250 shareholder benefit

    $50 loyalty benefit

    Plus the usual Elite benefits.

    Thanks,

    Fred

I watched the pricing of this cruise but never saw the price tag you paid. Congratulations for your excellent deal! How did you get it? Did you book with Princess directly? Was there some further military reduction?
