  1. If you move from one room to a room of higher quality you are still getting an upgrade regardless of whether or not you pay extra for it. Not sure why so many people have to nitpick when someone uses that word.

If the OP desides to take the room were they then upsold or can we say they upgraded their room?

Or did they upbuy? upbaught? uppurchased? It's kinda silly IMHO.

  2. Just got off Valor this morning. We were in Captain's Suite 9202. We got the 2 extra bottles of water, room was cleaned twice( without asking), nothing really special about the enhanced turn down service, no specialty chocolates. We're Platinum so we have priority embarkation, free laundry, and water. We got fruit basket, Champagne (2) from the Hotel Director, so i don't know if that's part of the perks or just because we were at the Captain's Suite.

The basket and champy are captain's suite perks.

  3. Care to elaborate? Are you talking about onboard purchases, or online?

I thought that the entry fee was $500 for the event, unless you won or came in 2nd on a CCL cruise Slot Tournament??

There are literally thousands of these floating around every year, there are various places to buy them online. About $50 is the actual street value.

  4. I'll be on my 4th Premier cruise on 10/30 on Splendor. That's 4 in just under 2 years. I've never come close to reaching 7,500 points in any 12 month period. I'm not a high roller. My casino cash is always $300. The mailing I received doesn't mention the Ultra at all. But this page mentions 7,500 for the Premier.

Yes, 2nd person gets DOU card and can join you at the cocktail party.

First two were from Ft Lauderdale. They try to pack all the priority people in one small room. Not pleasant unless you're there very early. Last time was from Port Canaveral, and that was a mess, too. It was a Journeys sailing and had tons of Plat/Diamond already. They finally called Diamond first, then the overhead displays simply said "Priority" and the mobs all tried to board at once.

Just to let people know that boarding may not be terribly organized! We'll see how it goes in Miami with the staggered check-in. May help with the crowd control.

Casino has been packed on the three I've taken. Unlike some who have complained in other threads, I've never had a problem getting drinks. Yes, the servers are busy. Don't expect to sit down and have a drink in 3 minutes. It's an issue at the bar, not the servers. There will be 6 servers at the bar waiting and maybe 2 bartenders, usually only one. And, of course, those bartenders are having to take care of the mobs of smokers who live at the casino bar. I always end up with a "favorite" server who takes care of me pretty well. I always add at least $1 tip and always tip extra in cash at the end to show my appreciation for their hard work.

Look under the sticker at the bottom of the mailer.

  5. Theoretically in order to get these offers, whatever formula the casino uses has them coming out ahead in the long run based on how you play. (how long and how much). Some people get offers and spend less and some get offers and spend more. Other than upgrades from the free interior for two that is my normal offer I have only paid port fees and taxes for my last 100 or so sea days.

My next cruise is a 4 day in a Grand suite that is sticker priced at 3K, I only paid $600.....so my gambling budget starts at that $2400 difference. Did I pay full price for the cruise, sure I did, but I will get offered another free interior before I get off the ship, and we will see how that one plays out.

  6. First, it's a "ship", not a "boat". Second, there is a limit to how many cartons you can buy on board. I believe it's a limit of four cartons per person.

You can buy as many on the boat as you like, you are only allotted 200 cigarettes pp over 18 years old when going through customs.

  7. Last Breeze cruise we were just on, they did have a table set-up in the Casino area that had coffee, juice, and pastries during that time frame. Never checked the coffee shop for the chocolate croissants, though will be checking next month on the Glory....Yum!

They do that on the Premier and Ultra casino cruises, I don't believe they do it on every voyage.

  8. I was vague for a reason. I won't turn a positive customer relation effort into a why you and not me issue. I think that anyone with sincere personal/medical issues will be treated properly with the end result being a life long returning customer. I'm in the service business and one out of a hundred calls say "You guys are awesome, thank you". That was the only reason for the post and respectfully the last comment.

    Thanks Carnival

Some people that post here find it impossible to believe that CCL is a decent company to deal with. I am glad things worked out well for you.
