I'm basing my reply on the title of your post. RCCL (RCI) no longer as formal nights. Based on our July Oasis sailing, I would now call those nights...wear whatever you want because we no longer enforce or care what anyone wears!!!

Lol, agreed but what I'm hoping to find out if if they still sell the faux rings on the ship because a few of them I bought in the past I absolutely loved and am hoping they are on the Harmony in January. I picked up some cubic zirconia cocktail rings  (probably wasn't even CZ, actually) set in silver and, I tell ya, they were fun to wear because they sparkled like real diamonds in evening settings. They were fun. They just don't survive a trip through the washing machine after you pocket them on a humid night! 🤣

Oh, if that were the only reason, that would make sense. Then again, if it made sense, Royal Caribbean/Club Royale probably wouldn't do things that way.

I'm getting comped balcony cabins regularly again. Here's my current status:

We haven't cruised in years but the offers started coming in weekly again about a year ago. Mostly balcony offers for me, Junior Suites for my husband, sometimes with freeplay ranging from 200-700 dollars.  My guess is there is an algorithm that sees they haven't gotten any money from us in a few years so it keeps putting a bigger carrot on the stick to get us back.  I guess the right carrot finally arrived and we took it.

The bridge is forward, not aft.

Oh, I see what the OP is talking about now - the "cross shaped" open spot at the aft.  My bad.  Been on the liberty many times, usually on Deck 10, yet I have no idea what that is.  I'll find out in August on my next cruse --  now my curiosity is piqued as well!

The on line booking shows lots of pices for cuts, shampoos and styles.  Do they do hair color?  Would be interested to hear from anyone who has had their hair colored, how much did they charge?

I get mine done about once a year on board and it usually runs me about $300.  Last year, on the Liberty, I had the best cut and color of my entire life from a Serbian woman.  She has since moved to the Harmony.   She also gave me a hand/arm massage and since I came back the next day to get an eyelash lift with her she gave me a free updo - and it was stunning.

Wow, I'm Signature the last 2 years and only get dollar off offers.  I had one balcony offer in 2 years. What was the offer called?  What date is the Anthem offer?

Offer code 191RCL602, titled "Bet Max on Bold".  Anthem dates from Cape Liberty:  9 night Canada & New England, 8/29 (GS) and 9/26 (JS).  6 night Bermuda, 10/19 (GS).  5 night Bermuda 7/27 (JS).  I'll get a pic of the list on here.

What's with the drooling over Suite guests, that may only cruise once a year or two. All this catering to them, when Diamond/Diamond Plus and Pinnacles cruise much more often and keep there ships pretty full with repeaters.

Royal needs to stop this nonsense!! They are going to start alienating and losing the "bread and butter" cruisers on there ships in my opinion.

I am thankful they drool over the suite guests given the final bills we receive on our suite cabins.

  7. Last year I hit a $2400 jackpot on Royal Caribbean - the last night of the cruise. The first night I made $800 off $20 during the first hour of the casino opening. My husband hit a $1,000 spin somewhere in the middle of the week. Also on that cruise a man hit $20K. Problem is.....when it's all said and done, we still lost more than we won. We enjoy the casino and put money aside all year for our cruises and never plan to make a profit. We get lots of free cruise offers in the mail and never pay for our cabins anymore - but they certainly aren't free!

  8. When we book our cruises from casino offers they do not appear automatically in our account. When you log in on the RCCL webpage, you will see a link that says "link a missing cruise", or "add cruise" - select that link then input your cruise confirmation number, which will be on the email you received from the casino cruise rep. Viola - it will be added to your my cruises section.

  9. We LOVE Santosh! We first met him about 3 cruises ago when he was working the pool deck - and the service he provided was exactly as you stated. He made us feel like the biggest VIPs on board. The next cruise we took he was working the casino bar and he remembered us -- not just like familiar face - he remembered our drink preferences and our names! The last cruise we didn't see him at first but one day he walked up to my husband in the casino, hugged him and said hello, even asked where I was! Turns out that trip he was working the pub so we made a special trip just to see him. Absolutely THE BEST OF THE BEST! We are cruising again in November and you bet we will be looking for him. Not only do we provide an extra large tip for him at the end of a cruise, but we always leave an excellent review for him on the comment cards and I have emailed corporate RCI gushing about him as well. I'll say it again... we LOVE Santosh!

  10. Royal Caribbean doesn't have "fees" when making a comped booking. That seems to be an NCL thing (the ~$200/person fee).

I'm not sure, but I think I've heard that if you get a fully comped booking on Royal Caribbean, you don't even have to pay the taxes. You are still responsible for gratuities, and I do think they make you pay those up front, but that's about it I believe.

We just booked fully comped cabins on two different cruises and the only thing we had to pay were the taxes and port fees. They gave us the option to pre-pay gratuities but did not require it, we said we would pay on the ship and they were fine with that. All this was within the last week so hopefully this helps someone looking for how Royal Caribbean is currently handling comped bookings.

  11. We just went through this last week. Our cruise was cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey and it had been booked back in January using a casino certificate. The representative at Club Royale was amazingly kind and professional and re-booked us on a cruise for next month using the same certificate offer code. So, to answer your question, there was zero problem. That said, it may have been because we were still within the one year time frame to take the cruise - the offers state they need to be booked within 30 days to sail within one year. So if you are planning your next cruise within a year of when the certificate was awarded, I think you should be golden. If not, I would hope they would honor it since it was cancelled due to circumstances out of your control, but the reps hands may be tied. Wishing you the best of luck!

  12. What a beautiful dress! I could see where you would be attracted to shoes with the details on the backs because of the slit in the back of that dress...however, I would agree with the worry of the dress catching on the backs of those shoes... Really like the idea of a peep toe though...I think that you need to have a flash of skin on the bottom of that dress to counterbalance all that coverage. I don't love the black shoes that the model is wearing...did someone suggest a metallic shoe? A matte metallic would be lovely...depending on your skin tone and what would be best for you and the undertone of the navy IRL...I would check out a deeper pewter or bronze...something that would not be as contrasting to your skin as a dark shoe but something that would have a bit more color than a typical nude color.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful suggestions! It just so happens I have a strappy pair of heels in a goldish/pewterish tone with very subtle tiny rhinestones. They match my skin tone so don't break up the leg line at my ankle or foot - perhaps I already have the perfect shoe sitting in my closet...:D

  13. FYI - Just got a certificate on Grandeur and it was the old type.

    Hi Lady!

This offer isn't the same as the ones given on the cruise ships, this one was received in the mail. I think the offers given on board always say either balcony, ocean view or interior, but as another poster said, if you call Casino Royale they can check to see if any other offers are available based on play. We also receive offers via email, such as this recent one for a complimentary interior stateroom and tournament entry. We get offers frequently - more than we have vacation time for - an equal mix of interior, balcony, or junior suite.

  14. Those are beautiful shoes but I would prefer the bling on the front of the shoes and then you could see it. There's a pair of Badgley Mischka and a pair of Nina that have the bling on the front of the shoes on that site. Don't know how to link like you did.:o

Thank you! I found a pair of the Nina's like you suggested and they are gorgeous. Plus, several inches lower which my husband would actually appreciate....;p Officially added to my option list. You're awesome!

  15. Those shoes are too much for that dress. You've got a "bling" dress, so I'd go for plain shoes. Not nude though.

Thank you -- it seems everyone is in agreement so far with dark shoes and that these ornamental shoes might be wasted on the long, floor length gown. Thank you so much for taking the time to help!
