Hello and thanks for all the great info and pic’s. We’ll be on the Caribbean Princess Sept 9..can’t wait 👍
We have Princess plus which includes 2 Casual dinings free of charge at Planks and or Steamers, they both normally seem to have a $12 cover charge, might I ask if you have seen them both open ? Or,not open and just extension of the buffet?
Many thanks in advance if you find the time to post a reply.Bob

Thanks so much for the information.
In your experience, would that apply to the Terrace Cafe ( self serve buffet ) ?

Ahoy all experienced Oceania cruisers, I am trying to understand the “at lunch and dinner” specifics of the house select option. ( never been on Oceania, but soon will be )
Are there specific hours they consider to be lunch and dinner times ?
Are there specific venues they consider eligible or ineligible?
Most often dining rooms are closed for lunch on port days leaving buffet or pool grill as eating options… will I be able to get a beer or glass of wine at these 2 venues whenever they are open, assuming I get food?
Often we like to head to buffet area at back of ship and sit outdoors for a pre dinner for a cheese plate and glass of wine before heading to dining room, will the house select cover that wine ?
And just on a whim…let’s say it’s 3:00 in the afternoon and we’re at the pool area and the grill is open….if I decide to grab a plate of fries and want a beer to quench my thirst…is the beer covered on the package?
Did anyone find it overly restrictive? -
I should have been more specific…a Canadian cruising with MSC going to the Caribbean…..
None the less…I suppose it is what it is..

Any Canadian out there experienced the pre test requirement on MSC simply because your a resident of Canada ?

NCL would only know that I previously had Covid if I show up with a Covid Recovery certificate instead of a negative test .
-
2 cruises booked in next 90 days that require pre test -( Canada /Greece )
Therefore 4 tests at $70 each in our area = $280
Covid recovery document :
Positive PCR - already have
Dr’s note - Free in our area
Zero cost vs. $280
They created the protocol , I’m just trying to find someone who’s used it .

Hello, we are fully vaccinated and fully recovered from Covid more than 10 days ago and less than 90.
Our upcoming sailing ports in Canada as such we require either a negative test prior to boarding OR meet the Covid Recovery protocol, which would be providing proof of the positive test result and a Dr’s note.
No contact with NCL to date as been able to provide confirmation of what information is required on the Dr’s note.
we will put Name, birthdate, confirmation that we have recovered, on the Dr’ letterhead and dated.
Has anyone been either successful providing said on a previous NCL cruise or obtained any firm details as to what should be written on the Dr’s note?
The roll call for my sailing has been helpful but I thought it best to expand my search for information as we would hate to show up for embarkation and be refused by NCL because we are missing an element of detail.
much appreciated,Bob

With the new announcement from the Fed's that all Canadians will be tested upon arrival, unless arriving from the USA, does it not seem silly to be required to take a PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival if we'll be tested upon arrival anyway ? IE flying back from Europe.
Or has anyone heard of an upcoming change to the 72 hour prior testing requirement ?
-
Which country is the embarkation port ? Rules can vary.
Will your test have been done within 2 days of embarking?
is the cruise line offering a PCR test prior to disembarkation?
are the names on your vaccine records the same as your passport?

Hello, would anyone know if the I-lounge on the Constellation sells laptops ?
We have a lot of on board credits on our Jan cruise and hoping to upgrade our home computer.
thanks, Bob

Although HAL has started informing it’s non US clients about this issue, and advising them that due to the proclamation they are unable to take the cruise ( the various TA’s they have sailing back to the US within 14 days of being in a Schengen country ) Royal still has said nothing despite our calls advising them of the problem.
We cancelled for a full refund. -
At the end of July my call in regarding my oct 31/21 cruise had confirmed PCR test given prior to disembarkation. I’ll keep checking though as policies keep changing.

Thanks for the great contact info.

So I just did our check in for our Royal Caribbean transatlantic from Barcelona which has us in a Schengen country within 14 days of arriving in the US. Due to the Presidential proclamation not allowing non US citizens into the US who have been in a Schengen within the past 14 days it appeared we could not take the cruise….BUT Royal’s on line check in asked us if we would be in the US for more than 8 hours after disembarkation which has us thinking they found a loophole and perhaps the cruise is possible.
Anyone had this happen to them too ?
-
Flights cancelled today…we’ll follow the progress and hope for the best. Cruise with confidence allows us to cancel up to 48 hours prior if things haven’t worked themselves out. Risk of higher flight costs but we can make that desicion when and if the other issues get resolved. Worst case an FCC .
-
I have challenged RCCL to reply to this situation however all they can say is that the protocols specific to this cruise are not yet out. Seems like we either cancel our Flights we booked via RCCL to avoid the penalty if we have to cancel, cross our fingers for a revised travel advisory allowing us into the USA , or just cancel the whole trip move our fcc and stop all the stressing.
-
Yes the cruise is Oct 31 so we have time except final pyt is Aug 2, although we do have the. 48 prior to cruise cancellation option. We booked flights with the cruise line but would have $250 p/p penalty to cancel the flights.
-
Question for fellow Canadians… if a transatlantic cruise leaves or stops in a Schengen country within 14 days of arriving in the USA, are we permitted entry ?
-
Great info Russ…thanks for sharing !

Island Princess casual dining?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
I see the work around here that Princess is doing to accommodate for the 2 free casual dining experiences with the Princess Plus.
Caribill: did they have the full Alfredo’s menu…or just free Pizza ?
