  1. Paul - have not been following, until now, just read every post. Fantastic job!

My partner, Rick, and I sailed an 11-nighter on Equinox back in November, 2016, had a fantastic time and fell in love with it.

I'll be sailing on Equinox on November 5. Unfortunately, my partner of nearly 16 years lost his battle with cancer and passed in May of last year so I will be cruising solo. But, I won't be alone, sailing with dear friends Amy and Mark (MrsB05) ... and, who knows, maybe I'll meet someone onboard! LOL

We fell in love with the Martini bar, and the Sunset Martini, had several each night. There were two servers that were fantastic, Boris and John, more than once they both brought us drinks at the same time since they knew what we liked. I have to wonder if they might still be onboard, it would be great to see them again.

Anyway, thanks for your fantastic blog ... I can hardly wait until November!

  2. Terry I have also commented on the social media site we cant speak of on CC :D

It is an hour bus ride to the start of the tour, then an hour and a half bus ride back at the end. Actual time on the ferry is just over 5 hours.

I can access this site from work (during lunch, of course), but I cannot access that "social media site which must not be named" from work - I'll check that this evening.

    Many thanks for the info!

  3. In Panama the CO26 ship tour of the Cannel is excellent, 8 hours.

Hoping someone might be able to provide a little more info on this excursion. We currently have it booked for our Equinox cruise in November, but my partner has some lung issues and is concerned.

How much time is actually spent on the ferryboat?

Are there places on the ferryboat that are air conditioned where he might duck in for some relief from the heat & humidity every so often?

Is the area where lunch is served air conditioned?

    Many thanks for any info!

  4. We're booked on the Jewel of the Seas B2B in December and had booked this tour as soon as we booked the cruise, as we tried to do it on our Celebrity cruise last December, but unfortunately it was sold out. However, I received an email this week saying that the tour had been cancelled. Needless to say we were very disappointed as we've heard such amazing feedback about it. Anyone happen to know why they're no longer offering this excursion?? Also, will they be offering something else, similar to this tour perhaps?

We saw it still listed for our cruise but when we went to book it said the excursion could not be found. We called RCL and they couldn't find it listed. Add that to what you've found and it looks pretty grim.

When my manager and her husband went there in April they said the owners told her the villa was for sale, so I guess it may have sold and the new owners aren't willing to have people there now. Just a guess, but sounds reasonable if the excursion isn't available anymore.

  5. Wondering if anyone has any information about this shore excursion offered by celebrity or royal caribbean? Thanks!

A client of mine (who also happens to be my boss at my day job!) just returned yesterday from an RCCL cruise that stopped in St. Maarten, she and her hubby did this excursion and she has just RAVED all morning about how WONDERFUL it was. A little pricey, but she said it is well worth it for the day.

I'm sold on it, just hope they are still offering it the next time I'm in St. Maarten in 2015!

  6. We'll be on the Carnival Liberty 4/14/12 for 7 days of bliss. This will be my girlfriend and I very 1st cruise and we are so excited! We are actually overly excited because we already have everything packed lol.

We are from Fort Lauderdale, FL. Any FOD's onboard with us?

Hi, Pinklover! We'll be sailing on April 14 as well (did you realize that's the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic?) - but we'll be on Carnival Dream.

  8. Hello, all! I have not had a chance to read all of this thread yet, but I will! We have done several "regular" cruises (see list in signature) and we have always been a couple on them. Not once have we had an issue. Okay, there was one couple that didn't come back to our dining room table the next night ... their loss! LOL Mind you, we do not go around "sucking face" (remember that from "On Golden Pond? LOL) in public, but we do not hide the fact that we are a couple. We have met some fantastic people and now have very dear friends from all over the world and we all try to cruise together each October. Oddly enough, they are all straight couples, and we are the only gay couple ... but that's never bothered us, or them.

We did book with a gay group on a regular cruise once ... that will never happen again. A few bad apples spoiled it for the lot - I won't even go into some of the behavior we witnessed in public areas, but I kept saying to myself "Okay, guys, a little decorum ... and GET A ROOM" (or at least go to your cabin for that!) LOL If it were an all gay cruise, that might be different ... but, I'm still thinking there's a time and place for everything, and a glass elevator in the middle of the day is not the time or place for sex acts, know what I mean?! LOL

Looking forward to our cruise next month on RCCL's Serenade of the Seas! Have a great day!
