Any ideas on what ships will be calling on Bermuda in 2025? I was hoping Odyssey would stay, so seeing it in Europe dashed my hopes. I’m assuming it will be another season of Liberty… 😢

Will O5 (Wonder) going to China impact Galveston's hopes and dreams.
I still think the plan is to have Oasis sail out of Bayonne during the summer months and Galveston during winter months. Then you have the other 3 out of Florida (Canaveral, FL, and Miami). This seems like the most realistic scenario.

Does Royal still have a ship doing a 9-night ABC island itinerary out of Florida? This is one itinerary I’m hoping for in 2021. We’re doing Freedom out of San Juan to go to St. Lucia, Barbados and Antigua in 2020 but don’t want to travel to San Juan twice, and back to backs are out of the question for us.

Are there any updates as to when the new Independence sailings will be released for the summer 2020?
-
Yes Explorer is set for the beginning of 2020 before her summer European season. You can see a gap in her schedule from April-May.
-
Someone on FB said the Oasis repositioning cruise is slated for May 6th - they did not list an itinerary.
-
Oasis is already confirmed. Oasis will definitely be in Bayonne during summer 2020. Expect the itinerary release tomorrow.
-
I heard that Oasis will only be doing 7 night Bahama/Port Canaveral sailings out of Bayonne. A little disappointed as we’ve been to the Bahamas many times.
-
Looks like Oasis is officially coming to New Jersey. Reports on Anthem is that the Next Cruise desk has announced it is true and Oasis will be doing the 7 night Bahamas sailings.
Many doubters and skeptics on this page the last few weeks, but it is coming to fruition.

The Oasis will Be doing the 7nt May-September 2020, Bahamas/Florida ITIN from Bayonne.
The Adventure will be doing the 5/9 Bermuda, Bermuda/Caribbean ITIN, May-Late August 2020.
Not sure how I’d feel about this. I’d love to go on Oasis out of Bayonne, but I don’t really want to do Bahamas again. We love the updated Mariner for those cheaper sailings!

If Oasis was actually coming to Bayonne, it’s the best kept secret by the cruise line and the port. I am hopeful it happens, but with itineraries released this upcoming week I would think something else (other than Anthems captain) would give some sort of clue but there has been no other talk. Even Anthems return to Southampton was confirmed a few weeks before the itineraries released. Same thing with Ovation going to Alaska. Like I said, I’m hopeful but there’s not much smoke surrounding it.
-
Only two weeks left until the announcement, any new updates?

Perhaps Oasis splits time between Bayonne and Galveston? Anthem is already set to come back to Bayonne in November 2020. So Bayonne would have a set rotation between Oasis (summer) and Anthem (winter). I’m betting Royal gets it done even if some additional dredging is required or smoke stack modification during its dry dock.

Imagine approaching the N.Y. Harbor and there is a Nor-Easter affecting the weather so that the ship is in a snow storm for 3 or 4 hours before it docks.
It would be a seasonal port. New York does not get snow late April through early October. And it is rare to get snow in late October. If Oasis is only in Bayonne seasonally, you wouldn’t have to worry about snow. Oasis can avoid the Canada/New England sailings by doing Bahamas/Caribbean while Adventure (and a 3rd ship in the north east) does those itineraries. Snow won’t be an issue for a seasonal sailing.

If you can get access to anthem’s leaked itinerary why can’t you get access to Indy’s, she going to bayonne?
I don’t want to fill this thread with info on Independence since this thread talks about what is replacing Anthem. Independence will also be in Southampton for the summer of 2020 (May-October) and will return to Fort Lauderdale in November. The ships itinerary can be found on a different thread.

Where is Indy going?
They posted Indy’s itineraries on another thread - Deployment 2020-21. According to Royal Caribbean’s website the full U.K. schedule should be officially released this week (the week of Nov 19).

They might still be able use central park when it’s cold for snowy events like in the city being magical.
It doesn’t snow May-September and rarely in October. Y’all are acting like Oasis would be in Bayonne all year! May, late September and October may have some chilly days up north but nothing that would keep people stricken indoors. June-MidSeptember there would be no issues. Anthem is coming back in November 2020 to do the winter sailings. Calm down with this cold weather stuff.

I was told today (in a Southampton travel agent / cruise shop), there's a third RC ship going to be based in Southampton in 2020 but she wasn't allowed to tell me which. Anyone heard anything regarding this? Apparently public knowledge from Monday!
Perhaps Quantum 5 goes to Southampton when Anthem goes back to the states in November 2020. I believe Quantum 5 is a fall delivery, but I could be wrong.

As another poster mentioned, Oasis class out of NY/NJ only happens on TV shows.
I find it hard to believe that Royal would leave Adventure and a smaller ship in Bayonne for the summer season. They said a ship similar (or bigger) in size to Anthem would be home ported in Bayonne. I don’t believe Quantum 5 will be available for summer 2020. Anthem is scheduled to come back in the fall so it wouldn’t make sense anyway. My bets are on a newly amped Freedom or an amped Oasis if they can squeeze it under the bridge.
-
Rumor going around on Facebook is that at the captains corner on Anthem the captain said Royal is considering Oasis from Bayonne during the summer season and that this could be an ongoing rotation: Anthem from Bayonne during winter season, Oasis during summer.
Does Oasis have retractable smoke stacks? Can Bermuda handle Oasis size? I’ve heard different opinions with the consensus Oasis can’t fit in Bayonne, but do we truly know that?

We all seem to assume this means the SkyPad was a failure, but it could also be that Royal just wants to create variety between ships. Or it could very well have been a failure and the SkyPad won't be added to any other ships.
I also went with this logic. Mariner and Navigator will both be sailing short Bahama trips. There will be enough of a difference that it may intrigue guests to sail on both ships to experience the full array of offerings. I feel this way sometimes about ships within the same class - if I experience Oasis there isn’t anything on Allure that would be any different. But if you put different attractions on each, it keeps the experience fresh within the same class of ship.

I don’t think Quantum 5 comes to Bayonne. Quantum 5 will be an LNG ship, and Bayonne is not set up to handle liquified natural gas. The only port I’ve heard of that does (on the US east coast) is Port Canaveral. Perhaps Anthem comes back after the summer season, but what happens during the summer is still up in the air.
-
Unfortunately, Quantum 5 will be powered by LNG. From my understanding, Bayonne is not equipped for this kind of ship. So I think this rules out Quantum 5 and the Icon class.

Odyssey is a great ship and includes some upgrades that make it stand out from the other Quantum ships. The solarium is still indoors, so perhaps they will open that up to families on the colder days. Outside of the holidays I can’t imagine many kids on these sailings during the winter.
