  1. Whenever we book OV on the M-Class ships, we always go for one of those new OV cabins that replaced the conference rooms. They have huge OV windows. They are 3112 to 3144. I think 3112 is the best. Stay away from 3140 because the cabin door opens in full view of the aft elevators -- those folks can easily peek into your cabin with the door open when you exit or enter. If you want quiet, 3142 and 3144 have their own entrance door. There are a couple of stateroom closets in that area, but nothing to be bothersome.

I forgot about these cabins I think my sister & I stayed in 3120 a few years ago on this ship We had a quiet room and the distance to the elevators & stairs made us walk off a lot of our daily caramel lattes.

  2. We were on this cruise as well and enjoyed the trip. Did notice one issue on the last night in the My Time Dining: 3 security guards rushed in to one of the rooms opposite ours not sure what was happening but did see on Fri morning in New jersey while we were waiting for our ride a older gentlemen escorted out by the Police in Handcuffs not sure what he did

Wow I missed all the excitement

Hope no one was harmed on the ship

  3. i have booked an Oceanview cabin on the Summit for the New England -Canada Cruise. I booked deck 7. Cabin 7000 which is at the front of the ship because it has a large picture window. Is this a good/quiet/cabin?

So many of the decks only have balconies or have obstructed views. Would I be better off on a lower deck or in the rear?

If anyone on this forum has been on Summit on one of these cabins, please give me your honest feedback

  4. Respectfully disagree. The responder just sharing an alternative to much more expensive suite option. As far as perks which come with regular cabin, depending on booking TA can be quiet large OBC ($400 per cabin on our last booking), with additional for fee restaurant and Spa treatment per cabin, etc.

    Exactly my point!:)

  5. My sisters & I traveled with adjoining cabins that opened to each other and had more than enough room. We had 2 bathrooms to use at any given time. & more than enough walking space. This was much cheaper than a suite, we got perks for 2 rooms and more than met our needs. We did not want to eat in the Suite Only restaurants so this did not come into play.

  6. I use a CPAP, and it's not always that there aren't enough outlets, but their location. I have found they aren't always close enough to the bed.

So I'm OK if it doesn't have surge protection?

If you contact Customer Service they will put in a Special Needs request & you will be supplied with an extension cord and distilled water for your CPAP. from the ship.

They dont have regular wiring on the ship and the regular cords/power strips are a fire hazard.

  7. I sailed on Anthem last year and am booked again for Feb 2018. I really enjoyed the ship. We had great service in our cabins & in the dining room for My Time Dining.

As for the shows, We Will Rock You was fabulous, the other shows were just fair or weird. The performers were top notch but the shows were not well thought out, no story or odd. I caution you to bring earplugs to the shows, as the sound is mega-loud.

  8. We cruised last year on Anthem in March. We never received an invite in our room the first night. We went to guest services and was told a place and time. Well, we went and no one was there. I was told the wrong time and missed it by an hour.

    Now Serenade was great!!:halo::halo:

I was on Anthem last December & had signed up for the M & M but never got a notice about it. We got lots of invitations to different auctions or activities to purchase items but never got the M& M invitation with the date & location.

  9. Although they had several games of Bingo on the Anthem last December I only played once. If you got the large package it included a computerized bingo, but also some extra paper cards. I was annoyed that when you bought the SUPER package you still had to pay for the daubers. I know RC is in business to make money, but OMG charge for a marker to use for 1/2 hour.

  10. In February, I put my iPhone in airplane mode, connected to rccl wifi to use the royal iq app.

Received iMessages as well as my aol email. I did Facebook and Instagram notifications but could do anything with them.

In December my sister & I were on a 1 week Anthem cruise. We both had IQ app on our phones, which we downloaded before boarding We each paid $7.99 for the week to have access to text & call on board the ship. We were also able to send & receive texts from people not on the cruise who had iphones. We were able to read our mail but not send it as well.

  11. My sister & I got comped for 2 specialty restaurants. I am on a special diet so it was wasted on me, but she enjoyed Chops mushroom soup & veal chop. & Jamie's pasta with some seafood.

Chops made us wait 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated & food was not delivered hot, but they reheated it with no loss of flavor

My sister was on Anthem last year & she told me that the regular dining room food & service has improved since they ended the Dine around program

  12. I just got off the Summit and had the same thing happen, daily gratuity charges changing mid week, also other random charges on our account. Something was going on with their computers and we had to go to the desk to get then fixed.

As for tips, we tipped the cabin steward & assistant & waiter & assistant as well as the maitre d a bit extra for the excellent service.

The issue was not the extra tip amounts but that random amounts appeared on our daily bills.
