Is any information for the land portion sent pre cruise via email?  I can see excursions for the cruise portion now.  Is the land portion available in the cruise planner?  I just want to know the normal process.

I am interested in knowing the answer to this.  Also how to upgrade the Denali Natural History Tour to the Tundra Wilderness Tour.

  2. We booked an Alaska Cruisetour (12 night Mountain Panorama Adventure 5B).  It is my understanding that there are optional "excursions" for the land tour part of the cruise.  I don't see these on the Cruise Planner with Royal Caribbean.  Will we get some kind of notification prior to the Cruisetour of what optional things to do on the land tour or will we get this on our first day of the land tour?

As for Denali, I see recommendations to upgrade to the Tundra Wilderness from the Natural History Tour.  How is this upgrade done?

    Thanks,

  3. Last spring, I went to the Rip Ty'd brewery with my 2 20-something kids and we all loved this place.  The bartender, Tony was very hospitable.  There is a food truck behind the brewery that you can order food from through the bar.  We definitely will go there the next time we visit Nassau.

  4. My family will be on Symphony in August.  I am reading conflicting posts about whether using iMessage to communicate with the members of my family (all have iPhones) will work without purchasing the Voom internet?  If we connect to the Royal wifi to use the app, will iMessage work?  I am aware of the chat feature in the app, however, do not like the fact it doesn't notify you when you have a new message.

  5. I will have the deluxe beverage package on my next cruise and I will also have the 4 drink vouchers as a Diamond member.  If I don't say anything for the first four drinks, will it be automatically charged to the vouchers or will it be part of the drink package?

I would like to save the 4 drinks in case I want to buy drinks for friends who may not have the package.  Do I need to specifically say not to use the Diamond vouchers every time I get a drink?

Thanks for all the information.  I will definitely love the large shows!!  I am not a fan of all Carnivals trivias and music shows.  The ship looks amazing.  We are going on the harmony in an extended ocean view balcony.  One thing I do not like about the room is that it has a double sofa bed and not a seperate bunk.  My 11 year old and 17 year old do not get along and will refuse to sleep together.  I am sure one of them will be on the floor.  I'm hoping they can just make a place for her to sleep on the floor when we get there.

Sometimes booking two rooms can be about the same price or slightly more than booking one room for four people.  Then you can separate the bed to two twin beds and have two bathrooms.  We have two children and have always booked two rooms.  Peace of mind and extra space goes a long way.

Our Christmas cruise on the Navigator...

    * Traditional Christmas songs played throughout the day.

    * Massive Christmas tree on Deck 5 between Playmakers and Cafe Promenade.

    * Catholic Christmas mass held at midnight...Father Bob, from Apostle's of the Seas. San Jose, Ca.  Additional services held at 8am every morning.

    * Chritmas gift distribution to all children, Studio B.

    * A large Christmas gingerbread house displayed in the Windjammer.

    * Free egg nog...with, or without liquor.

    * Christmas tree lighting and Chritmas carols.

    * Chritmas wreaths everywhere.

    * Crew members wearing Santa Clause hats.

    *  Special Christmal menu in the MDR.

My family was also on the Navigator last week and agree with the above.  My kids commented that towards the end of the cruise, they were getting sick of the Christmas songs.

My only gripe was that the water in the pool was too cold.  I wish the pools were heated so we could enjoy them during the winter cruises.

  8. Does anyone know what's up with tax being charged for Cruise Planner Purchases?  In the past, tax was not charged on cruise planner purchases for shore excursions.  Gratuities were charged for purchases of beverage packages and dining packages which was ok.

I booked a couple things for our upcoming cruise in August 2022 on Symphony of the Seas and a 12% tax was charged on the purchases.

That is correct.  Royal claims that the way they do their accounting does not allow them to move cruise planner purchases from Navigator to Freedom.  All the cruise planner items whIch I purchased on sale will be refunded to me and I will need to repurchase them.

I had two reservations that were linked then when they were transferred to Freedom, they became unlinked.  I had 5:30 traditional dining then when the transfer took place, now I have 8 pm traditional dining.  I had to call and change it to the early traditional dining. The only positive is the new cabins on Freedom is very close in location to the cabins I had booked on Navigator.

So it seems there are still snafus with the IT system.

One more thing, to top it off.  I received the updated confirmation and it shows a balance due when I had the cruise paid in full by the final payment date.  Per the email I received from Royal, my room should be price protected.  Hopefully, this will be resolved over time.

Am I to understand that your cruise planner purchases from Indy or Navigator didn't move with you? If so that's not right.

  11. Has anyone experienced the Cenote Hopping Adventure through Royal Caribbean.  We will be going to Cozumel in a couple weeks.  One of the members of our party recently broke her wrist and has a cast and is not able to swim.  Are you able to experience this excursion without swimming?

Thanks for any insights into this excursion.

  12. We purchased an All Prints Photo Package.  We are a family of four and we booked two adjoining cabins.  For simplicity purposes with the drink package as my wife does not drink, we put myself and my daughter (21 years old) in one cabin and my wife and my son (19 years old) in the other cabin.

Would the package include pictures taken of the following:

    My wife and I

My daughter (21) and son (19)

    All four of us

I'm finding conflicting information and was just wondering if anyone with a similar situation as ours has been able to get all the prints.

  13. We stayed in one of these cabins on Deck 7 on Allure last summer.  My wife wasn't a fan of the room because she didn't like having to close the curtains at night or during the day while she was changing.  Oftentimes, the crew would be walking in the helipad area and could see directly into the room.

It is also a long walk from the elevators.

One plus is that there is extra space by the window to put your luggage.

We wouldn't book this type of cabin again on future cruises.
