  1. Hi

We were looking at booking up the above and there doesn't seem to be many balcony rooms on either empress or verandah decks left, are we missing something, would there be a particular reason this itinerary is booked up so early? Is it school Holidays in the US early June?

    Thanks

I was checking ours for July 15th, Looks like it's fully loaded. I couldn't do a "mock cruise" for 1 cabin with 1 person. It's Crazy never had that happen before.

  2. I saw that there is a "tasting bar" on the Magic. Does anybody have any detailed information about it?

I have never heard of this, but we are doing the Magic in July for my kids graduation present. We are neighbors, You HAVE to let me know how the Magic & tasting bar was. (Live in Canton she is a "Park" senior")

  3. My wife and I are going on our honeymoon on the 22nd of this month. We are leaving our 1 year old with our parents and will without a doubt miss him dearly. We both have iPhones and plan on purchasing the premium wifi plan. I know we can use skype with this service, but can you still call family with iPhones back home on wifi?

Look into the Carnival Hub. They just changed their internet packages. My kids are getting the Hub app and from there are going to pay the $5 per day cost and they can do FB calls/chat etc from there. From what I gather, you download the app NOW, when you get on board you put the phone on airplane from there you access FB or whatever the lowest service is. it just depends on your ship.

  4. Hello All!

We are confirmed for the Chef's Table on our Magic cruise in November. Does anyone know where it is held on the Magic. I know it varies from ship to ship. On the Sensation we were in the Library. On the Liberty we were in a private dining room just off of the main floor.

    TIA!

I do not know where it is held BUT John Heald (I will add the FB link) was just talking about a menu change for the Capt table for the dream line which includes the Magic It's a "live feed" from today

  5. I am interested in booking a cruise on the carnival magic. I found a cruise for August 13 2017. It's a 6 day Eastern, visiting Nassau, Amber cove and grand Turk. I did a mock booking for the lowest inside category with the past guest rate and it totaled $1529.18 without grats. My cousin who will be cruising me is saying that is to expensive. Is this a common price for this time of year and type of cruise?

For an interior yes. I have a grand suite for 4 for July and you are way over priced. Hit the Carnival site direct, and as others have said, call them direct. There are 2 bookings Early Saver or Price Guarantee. I can't remember which one BUT they offer free upgrades. Our sons started with an interior and ended up with a balcony with no additional charge. You just have to stay on top of it and do the work because they generally won't contact you.

  6. Lucky you. I have been checking daily for a month now and no luck yet. Sept 2017.

Depending on the room you have it may not even be necessary, same as depending on level. We are in a suite and I was told not even to worry about it. Apparently after Diamond/Platinum we get boarded next OR with the FTTF crowd. Last cruise we went on we only waited 15 minutes with our in a balcony room.

  7. Happy to have YTD on the Magic in September! We've always done early dining, this will be our first experience with YTD.

We are a family of 4 (3 adults, 1 child), and I'd like to know if anyone suggests requesting a specific seating area in the dining room. Are window seats available? We'll likely dine no later than 6:30 or 7 so the sun should be up and I'd love to be able to look out at the sunset if we're still dining at that time.

Anyone with favorite servers on the Magic?

    Any other tips for YTD?

We always do YTD, although this will be the first time on Magic. We have found when we go, they try to sit us at the same table if possible (same with the RCL cruise we did last year) You "may" be able to request a table but not till you are on board since it is YTD. Maybe contact your Carnival Cruise Agent and ask? They may not be able to answer but give you suggestions.

  8. I been in aft, forward and midship on so many ships and experience this at all areas, which areas do you feel are cooler?

I have not been on Magic before BUT I heard something about the temps. Either where the lights are or thermostat there is some slot card thing. If you put your room card in there it over rides something. I have also heard you can use a business card. I have also heard to bring a large magnet if you have a balcony and want to leave the door open. The independent magnet acts like the balcony door is closed and the A/C doesn't shut off.

Keep in mind, these are things I have read but have no actual experience in it.

  9. We are booking our excursion for Belize and had our mind made up on the "Shark, Rays & Island Getaway". We did it last year and loved it.

I just noticed they have a new, very similar excursion, "Sharks, Rays, Barrier Reef, and Island Escape".

I'm having a difficult time comparing the two. Both are the same length, but the new one includes Barrier Reef, and it's $10 cheaper, per person.

Just trying to figure out why one with TWO snorkeling locations would be less expensive than one with ONE snorkeling location. Like I mentioned, the length is the same. Both are 5 1/2 hours.

Anybody have experience with the new excursion?

    Thanks.

Have you tried looking direct to Belize and see if you can find the same excursion? I did that for our tour as there were not a lot of reviews, I found it by checking out "what to do in Belize" found the tour and read reviews there. Carnival contracts with a company to do this so there should be something.

    Good luck

  10. Just booked our first ever cruise!!!! 8 night Eastern Caribbean on 5th August 2017. Super excited!!!!!!!!! Don't know where to start. Do we book shore excursions in advance or is it cheaper in port? Is drinks package worth doing?? Any hints and tips appreciated!!

Check out the "first time cruisers" section here. It's good for ideas/suggestions etc. I still check it out.

Make sure you also check the Carnival site on the FAQ's page, sadly I think they got rid of their forum or it's under construction or something.

Here is their site info on the cheers package (this will be our 5th cruise) and personally find it is too expensive. There is no way 3 of us have ever drank $1000 worth of alcohol. Now the "bubbles" card 2 of us get. The cheers package is if 1 gets it everyone over 21 gets it

  11. Can anyone recommend a cabin number for an Ocean Suite on Carnival Magic? Thanks in advance!

Check the floor plan, I would stay away from access areas next to the room. Other then that we prefer anything in the middle. FYI July 15, 2017 have no suites for 4 people apparently they are selling out fast.

  12. There are many good videos of the Magic. Make sure they are recent since she was in dry dock a couple on months ago. We're booked for next October and have a balcony on the Lido deck.

To the OP, note that not all ships have deck 5 pushed out like the Magic. Possibly just that class of ship.

Where would you find the videos at? Thanks
