  1. Hi Jester02, I’m loving your posts (my wife and I are on the same itinerary in august) and we have learned a lot from you. Can I ask a question about the onboard Wi-fi please?… when you connect with the medallion app apart from the service it offers (drinks food etc) does it also connect you to the World Wide Web… is that what you use to make your posts?

    TIA

  2. Wondering does Celebrity still mail your luggage tags, we are less than 60 days out & cannot get our tags via the website, thanks.

I have been advised that they e-mail them to you to print yourself... or your TA can print them for you.

  3. I haven't made any claims whatsoever, that was someone else, but you're repetitive posts are really obnoxious while people are trying to have a real conversation.

For someone who is 55 or 56 I'd think you would know acting like a child is a bit petty and uncalled for.

    whatever will bewilder me

Interesting, I am following the posters advice and looking for the relevant information.... which I can't find. I then provide evidence.

I just want someone to explain what I'm missing.

Have I offended you by asking for facts?

Not fake facts or alternative facts.... I think you need to chill. My posts are relevant to the OP..... are yours[emoji1417]

  4. I did find this:

    Unsafe Behavior

Sitting, standing, laying or climbing on, over or across any exterior or interior railings or other protective barriers, or tampering with ship’s equipment, facilities or systems designed for guest safety is not permitted. Guests may not enter or access any area that is restricted and for the use of crew members. Any other unsafe behavior, including failure to follow security instructions, is not permitted.

But I don't see how Celebrity considers pushing their excursion customers in front of other customers in an immigration line is a security issue.... perhaps you can help.... still keen to learn[emoji1417][emoji1][emoji1417]

  5. Googled.

Carrier may refuse to transport any Passenger, and may remove any Passenger from the

Vessel or Transport at any time, for any of the following reasons: (i) whenever such action is necessary to comply with any government regulations, directives or instructions; (ii) when a Passenger refuses to permit search of his person or property for explosives, weapons, dangerous materials or other stolen, illegal or prohibited items; (iii) when a Passenger refuses upon

request to produce positive identification; or (iv) for failure to comply with Carrier’s rules and procedures, including, for example, Carrier’s Guest Conduct Policy or Carrier’s policies against fraternization with crew; or (v) Guest’s passage is denied by Carrier pursuant to its Refusal to Transport policy. Carrier’s Guest Conduct Policy and Refusal to Transport policy are available online at http://www.celebritycruises.com/plan-and-book/before-you-go-during-cruise and http://www.celebritycruises.com/media/en_US/pdf/cruise_ticket_contract/Refusal-to-Transport.pdf.

    j. In the interests of safety and security, Passengers and their baggage are subject to inspection or monitoring electronically with or without the Passenger’s consent or knowledge.

    k. If Carrier exercises its rights under this Section 8, Passenger shall have no claim against Carrier whatsoever and Carrier shall have no liability for refund, compensation loss or damages of Passenger, including but not limited to any expenses incurred by Passenger for accommodations or repatriation.

I still don't see where Celebrity has the authority over immigration lines in a foreign country..... please help... still keen to learn[emoji1417]

  6. There are two documents. The first is the passenger ticket contract. The second, referenced by the first is the passenger code of conduct. Do a search for for each with Celebrity added to the search terms. There are some regional variations depending on where you do your booking.

    Are you referring to this:

5.6 Can you refuse to allow me to travel?

If in our reasonable opinion or the reasonable opinion of the ship’s Master or doctor, you are or appear to be unfit to travel for any reason or a risk or danger to yourself or a danger to others or behave in such a way as to cause or likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or danger to property. In this situation we are entitled without prior notice to refuse to allow you to travel on any ship and to terminate your cruise holiday at any time. You may then be left at any port or place at which the ship calls without us incurring any liability. You will have to pay any costs, expenses or losses suffered as a result, and we will not pay any compensation or give you any refund. Once your holiday has been terminated in this manner, we will not have any further responsibility towards you.

I don't think this gives Celebrity the right to control immigration lines formed off of the ship.

Am I looking in the wrong place? Still keen to learn[emoji1417]

  7. Actually they do. The reason why is when you sign up for a cruise you agree to the passenger contract and code of conduct. Part of that includes a phrase about obeying crew instructions. When a crew member tells you to let other passengers in front failure to follow the instruction puts one in violation of that agreement on or off of the ship. In close proximity to the ship, in a port area and prior to clearing immigration control that agreement would clearly apply. One may not like it, but if one made a major issue about not following the instruction could result in action taken under terms of the contract and code of conduct.

Now they could not tell passengers of another cruise line what to do, only their own passengers have agreed to the terms.

Just asking... at what point do I sign this agreement you speak of? I purchased my holiday from my travel agent and have signed nothing, is it something I sign as I board? Or are you confusing the captains authority passed to the crew by proxy? In which case it only applies on the ship.... or life boats. I am keen to learn[emoji1417]

  8. The OP is talking about the lines on the ship waiting to get off and go through immigration. Celebrity took a group of people that were departing on a ship sponsored cruise and ushered them to the head of the line.

This has nothing to do with immigration.

You should re-read the original post I think.

  9. How can this come as a surprise to you? Of course they let the people on their excursions off first. This is a risk you take booking your own.

What a load of tosh! That is no excuse to push in front of an existing line.... I agree with the previous posting, Celebrity excursions should have their own passport control to expedite their customers.

  10. Hi all,

I have been reading this thread with interest and having lived in Belfast for the last forty odd years during 'the troubles' terrorisim was almost a daily occurrence one just lived with it. Like the respondents here people just took the basic precautions and got on with life, I as a firefighter would have had more direct contact than most 'civilians' with the end results of terrorist acts, but it never stopped me getting on with life. I done a quick google search and in Western Europe there were approximately 175 terror related deaths in 2015 and in NYC in the same year there were 330 reported murders so on this basis you are more likely to be murdered than killed in a terrorist attack. My point being would terrorism prevent me taking a holiday in Europe Hell No would I have a holiday in NYC Hell Yes

  11. The Post Office and Halifax Clarity are both cards that do not charge for foreign currency transactions. If you check out moneysaving expert.com it lists the best credit cards for use abroad.

Never let the cruise company convert your purchases in to pounds. That goes for purchases from anywhere abroad. It is always better for your card to do it.

  12. Do any of you clever people know if is better to use ships currency converter for on board charges or to have the conversion done by your own bank?

I register a card with no fee for currency conversion, I was advised this was the cheapest way..... and I agree that it is[emoji1] I also get a better conversion rate than the ship provides.

  13. Hi Has anyone been on a Baltic Cruise to St. Petersburg. WE are going next July and are to spend 3 days there. I am looking at Excursions for the 3 days and need to find people who have experience of these for their comments. I do not like being herded about and need either a private tour with our own driver etc. or a small group tour.

We will be in St Petersburg for 3 days in August and have booked with TJ tours. The main reason was sensible start times (9am) and back at the ship by 5pm this also gives us time to go to the ballet one evening. Remember you go through 3 time zones (I think) on the way losing an hour each time (sailing from UK).

    Have a fab time[emoji41]

  14. On board Equinox now. Cans of soda are included on the classic package. Have had one just now. Also the packages are being promoted in the ships daily paper. The price limits are the new ones and it clearly says ' all fountain and can soda ' included. According to Celebrity's posting the new package was rolled out on this ship over a week ago.

This is good news and seems fair[emoji1417]

  15. I have e-mailed Celebrity who sent me the new drinks list, I have replied pointing out that this is not the offer I purchased..... I am waiting for a reply.

On a positive note the Classic also includes everything in the Standard package, I will have to pay extra for my Baileys but still get my Pena Coladas[emoji1417]

  16. We were able to do this for my wife on the Summit last week. The 1st time I asked at Guest Relations they said no but he asked me if I originally bought the package or if it was a perk,I told him it was a perk, thats when he said no. I thought about it afterwards and thought maybe he thought I wanted a refund as well, so I went back down and tried again, specifically saying I don't want a refund, just change the package, then he said no problem :)

Just a thought but if you were really unhappy with the "new" arrangement but had been given it as a perk would Celebrity convert the value to " OBC"? Just asking.
