Spirit.  Classy and lots of space.  I'm surprised you didn't like Gem.  Most of the Jewel Class get good reviews but they don't have all the options from Epic forward.

I did like the Gem, it was my husband who wasn't keen.  Glad to see so many votes for the Epic as that's our next booking in July.  Praying it goes ahead.

  2. Hello,

havig just had our second sailing cancelled we are looking to re-book (goodness knows for when!) We have sailed the Getaway (loved) and the Gem (OH didn't like it, said everything was too close together!)  Escape just been cancelled for April 2021 😞

My question to you is: what is your all time favourite NCL ship and why?

Let's cheer ourselves up with some fond memories.

Please don't be among those who mistakenly are thinking that when the dining package amenity was lessened for new bookings it was also revised for existing bookings. It wasn't. The OP apparently mistakenly believed that but finally realized in post #21 that only a new booking they made had the reduced number of specialty dinners.

NCL can't change it on existing bookings. It would be  a breach of contract if they did.

Thanks Horseman, my original sailing was cancelled and I rebooked 2 new ones, so technically after the change was 'announced' on April 15th.

    Specialty Dining Package

    Sail Length # Of Dining
    Package Meals
    Retail Value 20% Gratuities
3-5 Nights 1 $44.95 USD per person $8.99 USD per package
6-8 Nights 2 $79 USD per person $15.80 USD per package
9-10 Nights 3 $99 USD per person $19.80 USD per package
11-14 Nights 4 $114 USD per person $22.80 USD per package
15+ Nights 5 $129 USD per person $25.80 USD per package

Bronx 12, I have been on 7 night cruises before and had 3 speciality dininds included.  It's the fact that they have changed it 'quietly'  that people are bemoaning!  I could always call them but I'm already in enough battles with them!

  5. Wee update,

NCL have emailed this morning to say that because we paid full balance just 2 days before they cancelled the sailing there has been a mix up (no kidding) and that it was passed to the HQ on May 25th for resolution (still not heard a word!)

Will keep you posted.  Very tempted to cancel the whole lot and just ask for a refund.  Wanted to support NCL and cruise industry but this has left a very bad taste.

  6. I noticed this too!

I had a 10 night Med cruise booked for July and I have rebooked a 7 night and only getting 2 meals now.  Doesn't really seem worth it, might've chosen internet or shore excursion if I'd known that!

An FCC is really nothing but a book keeping entry and should not take very long to put in place, but my real question to everyone who is receiving them, is "What are they really worth?", especially if NCL has to seek bankruptcy protection.

I guess you should let me worry about that!  Meanwhile, I'd still like to see my book keeping entry!

  8. zqvol, I'm not looking for money, but Future Cruise Credit, do you still think it should take that long?  They have admitted an error.  The email told me the FCC would appear within 24hrs, and it did, but was nowhere near the correct amount!

  9. Hi everyone,

hope you are all well.  Our cruise (Greek Isles and Italy from Rome on Getaway in July) was cancelled exactly 2 weeks ago 😞  We had paid in full.

We received £126.88 FCC each and I have phoned NCL numerous times to advise that we are owed a lot more FCC than that!  Has anyone else experienced this?  Each time they tell me that they can clearly see that there's been an error and to wait 3 days, 7 days, 7 working days, all of which have now passed and I think I've been reasonable but I'm losing patience.  I have booked another sailing and the deposit is due tomorrow.  I advised NCL today that I won't pay another penny until they can sort this out.  They phoned HQ in Miami apparently and assured me that they won't cancel the booking, and that someone will get back to me by the start of next week.  I am not holding my breath!  I realise that they are dealing with thousands of us but given the number of times I've called them I feel this is getting ridiculous, would you agree?  Have you ecperienced similar?  It is rapidly putting me off NCL (usually my favourites!)

  10. Evening all,

We disembark in Rome from NCL Getaway in August and we don't fly til the evening. We usually spend a few nights in the city but that isn't possible this time. I fancy doing NCLs Rome shore excursion that will drop you at the airport in time for return flight. Is this sensible? I figure they will deal with our luggage etc as I don't relish dragging my luggage around Rome as I try to sightsee. We wouldn't normally book through the ship but it seems like the best option. Any advice gratefully received,or indeed alternative suggestions. Thank you Donna

  11. Thank you all for your input. Think we will either book KSC via NCL, or go to Disney Springs or the Daytona tour, will let hubby decide. I rarely book via the cruise line, could we do Daytona or Disney Springs self guided (e.g. taxi?) Think they are about an hour away. I used to work for Disney so this could be nostalgic!! The ports aren't great on this sailing actually. (PC, New Stirrup Cay and Nassau-we've already been to Nassau once.) Donna

  12. Good evening, we are at Port Canaveral from 1300-2100 in July and I am at a loss as to how best to spend our time. The 1300 arrival time is awkward and I doubt we'll have enough time to see the Kennedy Space Centre or any Disney park properly. Any advice gratefully received. Donna

  13. Hi everyone,

we're cruising on the Allure in April and I bought the 5 night dining package. I couldn't see an option to book restaurants online so I phoned RCI today, only to be told that I have to wait until I board the ship :( I want to be more organised and enjoy planning. We sailed NCL last year and I knew where we were dining every night. Surely all the 7/7.30 reservations will be full by the time we board? I'm worried that it won't fit in with the shows I've booked. Should I cancel dining package and just reserve online and pay the extra? 7.30 reservations probably still won't be available! I also asked if I could upgrade my drinks package while on the phone. Guess what? You do that onboard too. The first hours on ship will be spent trying to sort all this out. Please reassure me that it'll be OK?! I guess we should've stuck with NCL but I wanted to try something new. I left RCI feedback on their telephone survey. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, Donna

  14. Hi all,

i've just booked the 5 night dining package and it allows you to make one reservation (restaurant unknown) for day 1 or 2. I want to be able to make all my reservations online. I don't want to have to visit each restaurant individually to make reservations. Surely all the 'prime' times will be booked up already? If so, what's the advantage of the package. I'm not too happy! NCL let you reserve them all in advance with Dining Package. Is there a way around this?

    Many thanks,

    Donna
