ITA about deciding whether or not to let things bother us. I am incredibly excited about this cruise, as I have never been to Japan before and I am a Japanese-American! My sons and DH haven't been either. Can't wait to experience the culture.
I am happy that there will be a variety of foods and (hopefully) a good mix of people. I love that half the plane was also from the cruise haha.
You'll have a ball!
Take lots of photos and enjoy yourself!
Was def great to see alot from my plane on the ship :)

Oh dear I wasn't aware there was going to such a distinction. This piece of information will definitely put a damper on things.. guess I'll have to re-align my expectations when I go for my Nov cruise later this year.
It will only put a damper on things if you let it.
My cruise in january on the mariner from singapore was great. Mixture of ppl and nationalities. Lots of children too

Good to hear that things improved! We are on the 3/22 sailing and have heard very little pertaining to that itinerary. I am anxiously awaiting the 3/7 reviews!
Bummer that Chops sucks. We already reserved it. The kids don't want to go to Giovanni's. but maybe we will add it once we board.
Was the Feb mix still dominantly Chinese? I guess I can expect that since we are embarking in Shanghai.
Your trip will be what you make it to be.
I went in January leaving from Singapore (first cruise ever) and enjoyed ourselves.
The ship was mixed. Id prob say more aussies than anything. Im from perth n we were always coming across ppl from perth, melb n sydney. There was a family of indians, asians but more japanese, americans, french, german.
Food was for everyone from vegetarium to indian, asian, there was roasts, stir fry noodles, egg noodle soup
Wen we flew to singapore half our plane had ppl on it going on the cruise :)

I can't seem to start a thread, but I would like to ask a question nonetheless. We are deciding between Phuket and Langkawi on Marina OTS, and would like to seek your opinion on which is the better destination?
I loved both places. Both gorgeous relaxing placed. Phuket more for shopping and Langkawi sight seeing.
Depends what your after and want to do

I wore jeans on my recent cruise on formal night, noone said anything. Mind you i did have a nice top and shoes on

Then a credit which would have remove that laundry cost from your onboard account would have likely been given.
We just take it as a learning curve and to not do it again

No i don't think they post them online cos things can change.
Best thing is find a cruise similar to yours and ask if people will email you copies of the cruise compass
-
Yes they'll add more as time gets closer
-
Yes, see this is one of the reasons I will never send laundry out. I will wash out a few things in the shower myself and hang them to dry before I send it out. I wouldn't expect laundry to come back smelling like flowers or such (allergies, sensitivities, Save the Waves program, etc.) but I would hope they'd smell like, well, nothing.. then you know they are clean, at least. ;)
Oh I def didn't want them coming back smelling like roses but i also didn't expect them to come back smelling yuk

If you had complained about this to the service desk, IMO they would have arranged to re-wash your clothes for free and ensured this was done properly the second time. ;)
Unfort we recieved our clothes back the last day so bags had to be packed and put out that night

Was on mariner 3wks ago at they had Pets at Sea but it was only available at certain times. Also found you could buy the stuffed toys already stuffed and clothed at the merchandise store on deck 4
-
3wks ago i was on the Mariner. They had a special for $30 unlimited amount (or wat could fit in the paper bag). Since the cruise was 7 nights we thought we might aswell do some washing. Well the clothes came back not smelling very nice at all, they def didn't smell clean. Pretty disappointing.
-
Mariner 3wks ago had this channel, even had a webcam of the front of the ship and you could check your onboard account
-
When on the Mariner couple wks ago there was staff at most water stations keeping an eye.
I even saw one guy fill straight to his bottle and the staff member told him no, signed him the sign and he then filled from a cup

So, inquiring minds want to know: how do you fill your water bottle? Do you get a glass of water & attempt to pour it into your bottle without making a mess?
Yes definitely that is what you SHOULD do!

Was on the mariner 2 wks ago with port klang been the first stop. There were taxi's there waiting for ppl getting off the ship. Best thing is tour through ship since its so far from KL. Def visit Batu Caves if you can!

Thanks for visiting and spending time here! I'm curious - what is your favourite food when you visit Singapore?
Cheers.
Roast pork and haianese chicken rice of course :)

Port Klang
in Asia

I reccomend doing the tour through the cruise ship!
Traffic can be chaotic to KL from port klang and if you are late ship will not wait for you.
We were on the Mariner and did the ship tour - batu caves, kl tower, and petronas tower plus royal selangor visitors centre.
