  1. Does anyone know if there are usually taxis available (without pre-booking) at the cruise terminal in La Rochelle? Visiting on Thursday and need to disembark and get to the airport to fly home for family funeral :( Also hoping that if there are taxis that they have fuel!!

  2. Herbie100, I noticed you are on a cruise in May. You are not by any chance on the Arcadia doing the Fjords on May 28th are you?

Dorsetlad, No not the Fjords but would love to go there. We're just going on a short 4 nighter in May. Hope you enjoy the Fjords.

  3. We had our eye on one of the 2017 cruises, on Oceana in May doing Greece, Turkey and Croatia. We are on Arcadia this May and were going to book on board. However, on seeing the cruise details, I opted to register our interest. A cruise advisor phoned me back, and I told her our intention of booking on board to get the extra OBC. She advised that once the cruises go on general sale, fluid prices will come into effect, and if demand is good, prices will certainly rise. She offered us additional OBC as well. To cut a long story short, we paid a deposit, and she will book for us as soon as sales start. We got the brochure price, and ended up with OBC of £450 including my military benefit. We are extremely happy with the deal.

Thanks dorsetlad. Looks like it may be worth a phone call and can then decide when best to book depending on their response.

  4. I'm looking at booking a 2017 cruise when it becomes available in a couple of weeks. I know I qualify for the 5% past passenger discount, if I book before 31st May, but does anyone know if I can also get the additional OBC for booking onboard (as I'm on a cruise in May 2016 and can book then)? If so, it will be worth waiting.

  5. We stayed in this suite last year. We didn't hear any noise from Havanna below. I think that E732 may experience problems as that suite is directly above the disco. I've attached a few shots of the balcony (hope it works!). It will comfortably seat 4 but as you can see there was only 2 sun loungers. There is a beam (as per photo) but this only restricts one end slightly. We loved the suite and wouldn't hesitate booking it again. Hope this helps.

  6. I've never been on a ships excursion before and have one booked for St Peter Port, Guernsey. Is the time they give you an "assembly" time on the ship or is this the time we need to be onshore (having used the tenders)? The trip is 8.45a.m and I'm not normally a morning person!

  7. All 2 nighters I've been on have had one formal night. I'm on a 2 nighter in September on Ventura and just checked the dress code planner and it says 1 formal. I agree yours on Oceana says 2 evening casual and maybe 60/70's which seems odd. Have you phoned to check that it's not an error? You wouldn't want to turn up without your posh frock if there is a formal night!

  8. I want to book a speciality restaurant on a 4 night short break cruise but would like to avoid the formal night. Does anyone know what night they may have the formal night? The itinerary is Zeebrugge, At sea and Guernsey so I'm thinking they may make the evening of the "at sea" day formal?

  9. I do tend to agree regarding child/3rd/4th adult prices. We will be travelling with 2 teenagers and would quite happily share a cabin if the child prices were cheaper. We've ended up booking 2 balcony cabins for not much more than a single balcony. We've had to book the select price (as we wanted to use some Tesco vouchers for partial payment). One of the balcony cabins has the capacity to sleep up to 4 (as we need this option as one of my children is Autistic and 3 or all 4 of us may end up sleeping in the same cabin anyway with a vacant one next door!). Maybe the select price shouldn't be as high as 80% but understand more when it's 80% of a saver price.....?

  10. Thanks for the advice. I'll go prepared with everyone's details and see if it is possible to book there and then or get the future cruise credits and book on my return. Unfortunately, we can't wait for the saver fare as we need one disabled cabin so have to select the cabin number. Have considered waiting for the other 2 cabins but would rather have all the cabins together and choose the same dining option (rather than risk all being on separate dining times!) It's a price we're prepared to pay. Anyway, looking forward to 2 nights on the Aurora this weekend - never been on her before - and weather looking fab!:)

  11. I am due to travel this weekend on the Aurora mini cruise. I understand that if I book a future cruise on board then "the 1st two passengers on each booking receive on board credit" for the future cruise. I want to book 3 cabins (want them together and includes disabled cabin so can't wait for saver offers). Will I be able to book this under 3 booking numbers (and hence get OBC for all 6 passengers) or am I being a bit optimistic?
