  1. We did speak to a supervisor and he told us the same thing. they said its their policy and we could do it that way or they could refund us our $199 we paid online and not have a package at all. Some did go with the refund verses paying again and left with no pics. I was surprised because we hadn't heard anything prior to the cruise about this being a thing. We heard them tell others the same that they told us. So frustrating! We argued with them about it and they could see we had paid in advance but it didn't matter.

  2. Yes they are refunding the amount they charged us the 2nd time but now here I am 4 days later waiting for the charge to drop off my credit card. What I was thinking tho was is most wait till the last day to handle their pictures what if by then they don't have enough money left to purchase it again and wait for the refund? I put it on my credit card but if someone had to do that on a debit card it could cause them problems ya know? Anyways I hadn't

heard of it being done this way before. Most in our group had pre purchased and all of us had to do this. Next time I think I would purchase onboard for the higher price just to not have the hassle of waiting for the refund.

  3. So we just got off the liberty Sunday and prior to the cruise we purchased the 20 print photo package for $199 and once onboard when we went to pick out the photos we wanted on the last sea day we were told we had to re purchase the photo package at the current rate and then they would refund us! We asked 3 different people about this because I couldn't understand the reason behind it and they all said it was their policy. They could see on my account that I had already paid for it. Anyways we went ahead and picked out our photos and paid for the package at the current price of $239 and then had to wait for over a hour to get the refund and now that I'm home and look at my credit card statement online I show they haven't refunded me for it yet. It shows pending so hopefully It will fall off in a few days but what what a hassle!! So right now I have $438 tied up in photos waiting for my refund of $239. Is this a new policy? Does anyone know why they make you re buy it and then wait to get the refund? Thank you :)

  4. So we haven't cruised RC in a while and so I'm not up to date on how everything works now. So I have a few questions if some of you kind folks might could help me please:roll eyes:

First off I booked cabin 1400 on the liberty of the seas (is that a good choice?) and a inside across the hall for my boys when I booked I thought you had only 48 hours to get a better price and then they would credit you 110% but I saw on here last night where someone asked the question about when to book and everyone told him to book right away and he can alway call and get a price adjustment if the price drops so how does this work? the other thing I was wondering about was I have seen different ones talking about booking excursions and internet and dining while they were having a sale? When/where/how do I find out about when they do a discount on these things? I'm sorry this is a lot lol I'm just trying to get up to speed on everything! And if there is anything else I need to know please tell me:o thank you!!

  5. I'm guilty  At home when the kids are at school or at night I am able to join in on the roll call and enjoy seeing and knowing who are all going but once I'm on the cruise i'm pulled in 4 different kiddo directions and my husband wants my attention too so most times I don't make it as well! If I run into someone I'm thrilled but then I have to remember that our family vacations are about our family and that comes first and foremost over any meet and greet for me :)

  6. We were on the Magic a couple of years ago and as a family of 6 we had 3 in each balcony, cabin numbers 9457 and 9461 and the room steward opened the dividers for us. It didn't matter to us if it blocked the kids door because I didn't really want them to have access to the balcony except from my cabin. We now have 9446 and 9450 on the Dream and I am hoping they will let us do the same? Otherwise I could have put my kids in a room across the hall! I really want to open the dividers:rolleyes:

  7. My family of 6 have 2 connecting balconies on the Dream 9446/9450 my question is can the balcony divider be opened? We did this on the Magic and it was great! I found a website and it looks like they don't :( It doesn't matter to us if it blocks one of the doors to the inside because our plan was for the kids to only be able to access the balcony from our cabin. With that being the case would the room steward still open it? Are there any connecting balcony cabins that have connecting balconies as well? I know we did this on the magic. Thank you!

  8. I would have never done separate rooms across the hall at those ages while you can trust your kids you can't always trust other people! Mine are 16,13,9 &4 and we do connecting! I thought about a room across the hall but we were on a cruise once where a drunk man tried to get into my sisters room at night and she had to call security and my parents slept thru the whole thing! And she was 19! So a 9,10 yr old hear a knock at night and may think it's you and open the door and it could be a bad thing. I'm not trying to be a kill joy and it seems that you've already made your mind up but I would at least think about getting connecting for safety reasons. Somethings after they happen can't be undone ;)

  9. Hilton Riverside is a great location and near the Port.....you can walk thru the mall attached to this hotel and then just take the elevator down to the ship....NCL and I think RCCL are docked there...

Hotwire has it for $77 a night for September....just got it.....it is listed as 4 star French Quarter/Mississippi River.......great deal...excellent hotel.

How much for parking did they charge you after you arrived? thank you:)

  10. Hi! This is a wonderful thread! Our family has been on 7 cruises so far. My husband and I have 4 kids. 3 boys ages 16,12,9 and 1 daughter who is 4. We usually cruise with a group of 30/40 other witnesses. Our last cruise we did their ended up being over 300 on board all in different groups! We had a great time. We are currently planning to do one November 29th out of New Orleans on the Carnival Dream. We are so excited! We are in the process of planning a trip to a Bethel in March and once I get that one planned (hopefully in the next week) then I'm going to start working on the cruise! I'm going to have to check here often to see what my fellow bros and sisters are up too :)

  11. Since I have small boys and the room is always dark (except this time I have a balcony) but I still will use this. I always take a glade plug in with a nitelite it makes your room smell fresh and gives a little light when needed you can also get them with the extra outlets on them which we all need.

Also helpful is a small power strip if extra outlets is needed. We also love those pop up clothes hampers they fold pretty small and when needed they just pop up. Also those of us with dirty little boys know that washing of swimwear is almost always needed so bring detergent in little containers from home. You can use the laundry or handwash in room. I have more but I'll have to think on it:cool:
