  1. Could this work ?

I have 750 usd non ref deposit.

I want to cancel the cruise, so 100 usd three times ( 3 persons ) are lost, and 450 is in future credit.

But i do not want future credit.

So if i change the booking to another ship, and i choose a booking with refundable deposit. Then i pay the 300 penalty but the 450 is in the new booking , and i can cancel this one without penalty?

    Could that work ?

  2. Does anyone know why the new 2019 Pearl Northern Europe itineraries have not been posted on NCL? I thought they were on sale today, July 31? Thanks!

Last week the joy itineraries also came at nighttime ( for me, europe) so I guess Ncl is not awake yet

  3. The Pearl's itineraries should be out July 31/18 and the Jade and Spirit's should be out August 6/18.

THe pearl s itinerary is already out, it is posted in a different thread on this website but don t ask me how to post that link, i don t know how :)

  4. I believe the seafood buffet is in the buffet. It is not specialty dining nor in the MDR, that I am aware of.

Yes, it is difficult to get into Prohibition...I would try to book it as soon as you board. It is very entertaining (but adults only). No movie theatre but they did show movies under the stars on the big screen by the pool...this was on the Panama Canal cruise...not sure about Alaska.

Manhattan Room is a nicer MDR...larger, more open, ambiance is not much different than the other MDRs, at least not in my experience. We did tend to go there though, just because it was easier to get seated.

    Movies are in the atrium.

Manhattan is more open, less loud and not so dark .

Seafood is on seaday in buffet ( but no king crab ! )

  5. Tallinn is perfect for kids or teenagers. We always look for the free walking tours, those guides are students ( like 20 years old ). They do connect a little bit with the teenagers and they have the same interests. Our guide was really anti russian ( like most of the tallinn people ) and he made funny jokes about them . My son had a great time! We also wached the changing of the guards , really nice, the orchestra ( don t know how to call them properly,) plays mordern songs like michaen jackson , not the army songs :) . Just be in time, there is a huge crowd !

In waernemunde we went on a tour with a segway, he loved it! In stockholm we went to the vasa museum, that is all about the vikings .

St petersburg is of course quite historical and we did the museum, but we also took the hydrofoil to st petershof. You can even do a detour to the footballstadium , it s not far from the harbor.

Copenhagen we did quite a few times, we go to hardrock cafe , you can go to tivoli ,an amusment park, there is a splendid sea life park in copenhagen, time is too short ..

I m sure kids can go on and off the ship, they never asked him where his parents were when he entered. But i m not sure about that.

  6. Can i ask you something about the weather?

Is it possible to sunbathe every day on deck ? I ofter read about windy nights, cold to swim, etc....

I d like to do this cruise next year but we will only go if we ll have sun since we don t have a lot of that in Europe :)

    Thanks,

    Sue

  7. From NCL's press release about the ship:

"In line with its youth programming across the fleet, Norwegian Bliss will offer a wide range of family-friendly activities for guests to enjoy including family balloon twisting, interactive games and the Family Glow Party."

    So, Glow Party is on.

There will be no glow party, they told me on the phone to bring the cowboy attributes and the caliente party would be somewhat alike but not just glow so the glow attributes can be used there if you would want to.

  8. Just off Getaway... first NCL cruise. Great time. I cannot understand Jimmy Buffet's at all. Never saw anyone in there and it seemed closed most of the time! Now it's back on Bliss? Did try the Brazilian option and it was ok, but not gonna miss it. Le Bistro, La Cucina, and Cagney's were great. Ocean blue ran out of Lobster... substituted King Crab. Was REALLY good! O'Sheehans was a terrific option for a quick meal, and Prime Rib on Monday... but I see it's now called "The Local" on Bliss, and if you select "Complimentary", the venues that are offered are highlighted and those that are not, are dimmed out. The Local seems to be in neither category! I hope it continues to be a complimentary venue on Bliss. Can't wait to try Food Republic!

The local is complementary in my booking summary !

  9. I asked someone working ont he joy, she saiid it s a 1m40 restriction, which makes more sense than an age restriction .

I'm not ready to assume that what holds true for the Joy holds true for the Bliss.

The Joy has additional kid-friendly options that weren't carried over to the Bliss. Compared to BA and other BA+ ships, the Bliss has displaced many activities for teens & younger children: ropes course, mini golf, sports deck, etc. I'd be surprised if NCL isn't taking this into account.

We have read that NCL can alter the max speed of the karts, so I wouldn't be surprised if they offer different times for different "skill" levels. Also - am I recalling correctly that we saw some 2-person karts for the Bliss? That may be another opportunity for younger riders.

Or maybe the min age will be 14. So long as there's not a max height, max weight, or max head circumference, I'll be in line.

  10. This is exactly what I am worried about with our 14yo boy. He loves the ropes course, mini golf and sports court. While he would enjoy the go karts and laser tag the extra cost for these (I am assuming both will have fees) would add up very quickly on a 7 day cruise.

I have the Bliss booked for Thanksgiving 2018, but I also booked the Getaway and the MSC Seaside. After I read reviews we can then decide which ship we will stay on.

And regarding your bookings, i just got back from the Getaway, great ship. I just got back from the msc Meraviglia which is their newest ship on the fleet for now, and it was a disaster! Even the staff confirmed it was really total choas , everybody cancelled the prepaid gratitudes and they did not bother to ask why...they knew why...they can not handle the crowd! i would not hesitate, bliss is the boat to get !

Ok, i got some info from the staff on the Joy. There the fee for the racecart is 5 dollars and the minimum height is 1m40 meter ( must be quite a challenge on the joy for the chinese people :) )

She will double check for the lasertag but she thinks it might be 10 dollars .

    I ll confirm later :)
