We are sailing with you. Fingers crossed Summit makes it through the Panama Canal!

I hope so or I’ll be there pushing her through the locks

Ugh! I hope this is a fluke thing. We head for Miami to board Summit on Monday. The last thing we need is a canceled cruise 😩

I know. We were on the apex cruise that was supposed to go to israel and Egypt and you know what happened there. I’m packing now but hope we don’t have to unpack before getting on a cruise again. Getting very concerned

A  update on our ongoing "discussions" with Celebrity through our TA.

We can not take one of their lift and switch cruises because of scheduling and we can only get OBC.  I checked other Celebrity sailings and found that the ones that interest us cost twice what we paid for the Infinity for fewer days. Therefore we had our TA ask Celebrity for any other options.

About 3 weeks ago they asked that I provide options that would be acceptable to us.  I sent them 5  options: return the money we paid them, transfer our FCC to RCCL, and do a lift and switch to one of 3 different cruises.  They immediate!y rejected 3 options leaving lift and switches on one of 2 cruises neither of which really interest us, but at least we would not lose our money. They misunderstood one option (purposely?) And did not comment on the last one.

I clarified the option they misunderstood.  They responded yesterday rejecting that option and saying they would discuss the last one, an upgrade to an outside on an April Apex Caribbean cruise. They gave no indication when they would decide.

When I sent them the options an outside on the Aoex was only about $100 pp more than our OBC.  Now even an inside is more.  Therefore, if they reject that option, I will have to pay extra for a cruise that does not interest me just to use the OBC.  Meanwhile airfares are rising increasing the cost to us.

After reading other posts, I realize that we are not alone.  Given Celebrity's poor customer service to us and others, I will think twice before booking with them again.

You may be missing the point of lift and shift….doing a lift and shift you get the new cruise for, the, price you paid for the original cruise.  so If your original cruise was $2000 for example and the new cruise your lifting and shifting to is $4000…you get it for the $2000 you paid on your original cruise

Celebrity will allow you to pay tax+fees and hold a booking until your FCC is created.

My TA used pending fcc and put it in a courtesy hold so no out of pocket money for us. It worked because she did that for the cruise that got canceled and celebrity treated it as an actual reservation.

Has anyone that has recently done a lift a shift able to book any extras through cruise planner, anything I try to book is greyed out and says to contact Celebrity. Celebrity are saying it’s an IT issue I wondered if it was just our booking or anyone who was lift and shift?

We had to deal with FCC from a different cruise to be applied to  the cruises that were canceled. For me, until those fcc are applied, I can’t book anything. I wonder if the same applies to L&S

Was booked on Infinity’s September 17 sailing from Ravenna to Rome which is on the list as being eligible for Lift and Switch.  My TA called Celebrity and gave them the Reservation Number that is on my booking confirmation and it now comes up as a cruise on the Equinox out of Ft Lauderdale to the Caribbean departing the same day and with the same stateroom number as the Infinity Cruise.  I went on to my cruise planner and sure enough the booking now shows a Caribbean Cruise.  Of course Celebrity is saying that this is not an eligible cruise.  No resolution to this point.

If you have your documentation with the original cruise information on it, I’d start with that and tell them YOU didn’t make any changes. I’m sure their records have some indication of who and when the changes were made. It might be encoded and only an IT person can see it, but I’d start forcing the detective work to show it was changed in error

I see only three options to replace 10/12/22 Spain and Portugal.  And the replacements cost almost twice as much for 1-2 days extra.  One is on the EDGE so I expect that to be a little more expensive but the others aren't much cheaper.

I'm waiting for confirmation that we can move our deposit to our 12/23/23 cruise but I don't expect confirmation for 2-3 weeks.

With lift and shift you get the price you paid on your original trip. We had a b2b scheduled and got skunked on the 2nd one since there were no options. I’ll have to check if they prorated for days….

We’ve just done a lift and shift from Infinity (12th Oct) to Edge (14th Oct). We’re disappointed not to be visiting the ports of our choice but accept that at least we can still cruise. However there was no select dining available so we’ve been assigned to traditional dining. Could anyone who has been on Edge before please explain how this works. Are we stuck in the same dining room every night with repeated menus? What’s the chance of being able to dine elsewhere other than the buffet or pay venues?

We’re trying to do that too but it appears we paid more for our infinity than the edge will be. Don’t know what L&S will do for us

Not saying that the Eclipse cancellations are related to the Infinty sailings, other than it, the Infinity, and the Solstice were grouped together as three with delays in starting this year. Now the Eclipse is basically being further delayed. Maybe indicative of something, maybe not.

The eclipse is also caught up in the issues with Australia.

Any cancellation is far from ideal but I’m sure you will not loose that kind of money.  When eclipse had some cruises last week celebrity offered some “lift and shift” options

I think we should know more this week

I hope you’re right. I don’t think they have this cruise next year. If they cancel things they better give me back my money or at least give me an extension to use it.

  11. We booked a b2b in the fall using fcc from a cruise we canceled with cruise with confidence. If these cruises are canceled, we stand to lose about $8000 according to current cruise with confidence rules. Fingers are crossed. This whole thing makes me very nervous. Fingers crossed that they’re just trying to limit capacity rather than cancel infinity’s season.

  12. I am also in the same boat....  We purchased before doctor's note was required.  We also bought insurance.  Now we cannot board.  So, we paid $700 for insurance for a trip that we cannot take?  I don't understand.

You should be able to get a refund in your insurance. I did
