  1. I forget which boat it was, but I read a thread on here a few years back that told of an older lady who essentially just lived on a Carnival ship and only left the ship about once a month in her home port to go see her doctor. When it was all said and done, it was cheaper to live on the ship than it was to live in a retirement home. It's actually not a terrible idea at all.

This is our retirement goal as well given how expensive most retirement communities are. Too bad we're a few decades away from having to worry about this though...

  2. You can sacrifice a goat before you leave home too. I have heard that helps.

This literally made me lol. Thank you and the other non-germophobes for keeping it real. Germs are a part of life and they're EVERYWHERE! All of these people who won't touch this or that or drink a gallon of sanitizer everyday...SMH...

  3. What time do they typically start the check in and boarding process? My boarding pass says 2:30 but I thought I remember seeing earlier than that in reviews of prior cruisers.

More importantly, did you get FTTF????? That is all that matters!!!!!!

  4. As someone who has to get dressed up for work every stinkin day with no casual Friday, I look forward to NOT having to get dressed up on vacation. I think it's kind of silly to spend all day lounging around the ship or exploring a port city in relaxed clothes just to turn around and get dressed up for a few hours at dinner.

If you want to get decked out to the nines by all means go for it, but I for one will pass on the formalities while aboard.

  5. On our very first cruise we booked an interior. We had no idea what to expect and never thought about how dark it would be. We didn't like it because, while we don't spend a ton of time in the cabin, we both need the natural light. If we ever went with an interior again we would definitely do the TV trick. I hope you enjoy your cruise!!!

  6. Never had The Wee Jimmy. We had a little guy as CD on our last cruise, George Robert I think his name was but I don't remember for sure. We weren't impressed with him. Before that we had Felipe and he was alright. Our fave was Kirk Benning because we thought he was hysterical. Now that I'm thinking about it I think Felipe will be our guy again on our upcoming cruise in January. Woohoo!
