  1. All good thoughts, we have been going over this alot and as most suggested maybe the cruiseline is not the way to go. I think it is best we just rent a car in Fairbanks and do our own thing.

Only thing is might we miss alot of that neat information about Alaska that the tour guide would be telling us along the way?

I thought i read somewhere there was a book out that could tell you everything to look for along the route from Fairbanks to Seward to Whittier?

Anyone know the name of it?

By no means an Alaska travel expert. We used The Milepost extensively as we traveled for a week after a cruise. 7fe0bd80977c17c19de5d263b3f63667.jpg

I️ highly recommend it. You may want another book or two with more detailed background info on major sites but this was a very handy guide.

  2. We are first time cruisers traveling with two children both special needs (autistic). We are moving to Europe for several months. Flying is not a choice. We need help locating and selecting a transatlantic crossing in early 2018. I've done a lot of reading here on Cruise Critic and it does seem that actual recommendations for a travel agency are discouraged. That seems fair considering the readership this site attracts. But I could really benefit from some advice to help me select an agent/agency.

  3. This. It's been a bit of a quandary. Doing a last minute review of clothes for our Coral Princess Alaska cruise next week. Have wished and washed about formal night. I've read much good advice to counsel we can dress up or not dress up. We like to "blend". For someone(s) who has recently cruised this ship/itinerary? What is the majority of style on formal nights, men and women?? Most specifically should I keep DH dark blazer in suitcase or no? (Dress shirt and tie stays. That's a minimum. ) I have long skirt and dressy top.

  4. I would love some input/suggestions on what is available on the Coral Princess to commemorate an anniversary. We had a cruise booked in 2014 to celebrate our 50th. Then my mom passed away so we put that off to help take care of my dad. Then in 2015 my dad passed away and my DL had an heart attack and bypass surgery so we put it off again. I had decided it just wasnt meant to be to grant DL's life long wish to see Alaska. But my son took over and booked us all a trip on the Coral coming up May 27. We have much to celebrate, better health and 52 years of marriage. The Personalizer has a spot to denote special events. If I fill that out what does that usually generate? We're not huge party folks, so aren't planning anything special but it might be nice for some small recognition, the grandsweeties going with us would love it. For those who've cruised Princess before, what do you think is normally done?

  5. First time cruisers here. No I don't know why it's taken us so long! We will be traveling with our grandsweeties age 11 and 13. We will be doing the formal nights with suit and dinner dress for us. Would love to know what seem to be the trends of dress for the kids?
