  1. Thank you for your idea. I'm still looking for this tour but will keep this option in mind.

You could try contacting one of the local tour operators running the current tours. Often they will customize itineraries. It's very easy, on these boards, to find a few others to join in to save costs, if you like. I've done it numerous times, and can tell you, it's easy as pie. It's also the best way IMHO to tour.

  2. I did a tour through Celebrity Cruises a couple of years ago that included San Giorgio,Murano Island, and a Gondola ride. I will be going back to Venice, and wanted to book a tour that included these 3 sites/activities. I would like to book this independently and not through the cruise line. Can anyone tell me of a tour company that operates this tour?

  4. Book excursions for some, but not all, ports. We did not book an excursion in Mykonos, and I will never regret it. It was also wandering through the small, tangled streets. It's easy to find a nice restaurant (you can research this before) and the shopping is awesome. My two favorite trip souvenirs-- ever--- were purchased in Mykonos.

  5. I know that really doesn't answer your question, but it may give you some idea. You can also enter the starting and ending destinations into the app ahead of time to get some idea. Try to do it at a similar time of the day and day of the week as so when you'll need it, for the most accurate rate.

  6. With a group of eight, you should really look into private tours. Go on the roll call for your cruise date to get ideas of what others are doing, and also look through the ship's offerings to get ideas. It's very easy to plan (but as said, take it one port at a time). It's not only far cheaper... it is worlds better. You'll not only be able to do what you want to do when you want to do it, but when you get there, there will be just eight of you to worry about. No waiting for inconsiderate strangers, and You can go to the little, local restaurants, or hit the little shops, whatever you want, without being held back by the crowd. I, too, hesitated at first, but now I will NEVER go back.

  7. Itinerary change...I'm joining forces, once again, with Mr. P and White Shorts to visit the lovely island of Bermuda on the Anthem of the Seas this May. Stay tuned for a live thread of a completely different nature.

*We regret to inform you that no OBC will be offered as a result of this modification.

  8. Do you receive a guest foil it when you book through a travel agent? If so, it should be there, under "Booking Charges - Currency". Ours has different codes there, one of which being. "BEVCLINGRAT." Your code may be different, but probably will at least in Luce "Bev" in there somewhere. Then it will show an amount that he package is worth. There will e a separate code (in our case, YEG5-PROMO2C) that then deducts he package amount. Hope this helps!

Sorry, spell check changed my text. I am retyping it below.

  10. I have tried to order halves of things. And no, I don't mean two half dinners and three half desserts. I truly mean just a half dessert. I can't eat all that! But they still bring the entire thing.

  11. Does anyone have any experience knowing if the specialty restaurant deals have been offered recently on European sailings? I ask because I think something like this might vary between itineraries. I'm not certain, just wonder. If you did see deals on a European itinerary, any/all details (I.e., mon/year, restaurant, deal) you can provide are much appreciated.

  12. I love Blu. Totally adore it. As said, the breakfasts are awesome (totally top-notch), the food varied and tasty, and the service is very personalized. However, if you're a real foodie, you will want to try the others. You can buy just one special meal out, or two; for longer than a week, you might choose a three-restaurant package for $109 I think. It's not that much money and will really heighten your cruise experience. That said, I agree that Murano and the Tuscan Grill are the best choices. On some ships, they also have Qsine and the Lawn Club, so those are worth a try as well. (I have been to the last two yet, but will our next trip). I've heard wonderful things especially about Qsine.
