We to are going on the RCCL Independence to get married. However we are not going through Royal. We are doing it on St Maarten for a fraction of the price, mostly because I wanted my toes in the sand.
This is our boat though! I recommend splurging on a larger room to get married in, like you, we have a very large party. (30+) Good luck, and let me know if you have good insider information!!!

Hi Everyone! I am new to cruise critic, but my future mother-in-law told me how helpful it can be!!
I am getting married on the Independence of Seas next May, and because I am a full time student we are planning everything pretty far in advance.
We are getting hitched on St. Maarten, and it has been hell trying to find a wedding planner, since we want to save money. RCCL wants to charge us over $4500.
Just a heads up, I was able to save over $300 dollars on invitations by designing them myself on Zazzle.com
We did Boarding Pass themed.

I too was in this same predicament. I heard too many stories in which the cruise line was not communicating well. That could drive a bride crazy! If you go through a private on-island consultant you get everything you want at a fraction of the price. It just takes a little bit of trust, and I like the response to get trip insurance that covers the cost of it. Very Smart.
