  1. I too was in this same predicament. I heard too many stories in which the cruise line was not communicating well. That could drive a bride crazy! If you go through a private on-island consultant you get everything you want at a fraction of the price. It just takes a little bit of trust, and I like the response to get trip insurance that covers the cost of it. Very Smart.

  2. We to are going on the RCCL Independence to get married. However we are not going through Royal. We are doing it on St Maarten for a fraction of the price, mostly because I wanted my toes in the sand.

This is our boat though! I recommend splurging on a larger room to get married in, like you, we have a very large party. (30+) Good luck, and let me know if you have good insider information!!!

  3. Hi Everyone! I am new to cruise critic, but my future mother-in-law told me how helpful it can be!!

I am getting married on the Independence of Seas next May, and because I am a full time student we are planning everything pretty far in advance.

We are getting hitched on St. Maarten, and it has been hell trying to find a wedding planner, since we want to save money. RCCL wants to charge us over $4500.

Just a heads up, I was able to save over $300 dollars on invitations by designing them myself on Zazzle.com

    We did Boarding Pass themed.
