  1. This.

I'm thinking this is a joke.

Actually it's not a joke. I was venting and clearly should have worded my title differently and should have just stated facts. But I asked for advice on something that seems like a no brainer-I get it. Yes, I see my room was unacceptable and should have been dealt with right away. Instead I tried to just clean it myself and move on but it bothered me enough that I put my thoughts down here.

Thank you for all the comments. I will talk to guest services.

  2. I'm currently on the Breakaway, early morning day two. I'm in a 2 bedroom suite and have sailed quite a few times in this category.

I've never had an issue with a room steward but this trip I do. When I walked into my room yesterday it was filthy....BOTH toilets had enough feces in it that it was clearly never even looked at to clean, there was a used SHARPS CONTAINER in the bathroom! no toilet paper on holders, no hand towels and the bath towels were stiff and wrinkled and because of the state of the room made me wonder if they were used and just put back up?!

Ugh, I'm so disappointed because I know this is not the norm. My question is, if I make a complaint to whom? Guest services, concierge? My biggest worry is that if I complain about this room steward, he then will be entering my room for the next 6 days and, well would you feel comfortable with that?

I always bring hydrogen peroxide wipes and wipe down the surfaces in the room anyway for some "extra" cleaning, but this time I LITERALLY cleaned my room.

I really didn't want this to be a damper on the start of my vacation but since its 5am and I'm asking for some advice on CC, I'd say I clearly can't let this go yet!

  3. Maybe it is regional, but these tips seem low to me. Does anyone tip more? I also think I am more inclined to tip throughout the trip versus just at the end. Do some people tip this way as well? This is our first cruise.

I originally felt the same way, that I would tip throughout as I didn't want the butler to think I was going to "stiff" him. But now after several times in a suite, not only is it easier to tip at the end, most of the butlers I've had brushed off being tipped during the cruise and requested to be tipped at the end.

I will say that I do tip the night butler right then if he delivers late room service because that's the only time I'll see him.

One thing I've learned here and I think it makes tipping at the end even easier......I bring thank you cards and put the cash in there along with a quick note, usually about how they made my vacation so wonderful!

  4. I'll be sailing on the Breakaway on my actual birthday and am wondering what gifts others have received from CAS during their birthday?

I've been Golden for some time and I'm assuming your gifted based on your tier.

Obviously this "gift" will not make or break my cruise.....just curious!

Also, I believe I read that Golden can get canned soda at the casino bar and a pack of cigarettes a day? I was never told that before but wanted to confirm.

I've also been very lucky and had really great hosts that pretty much comped everything off my final bill, so it wasn't like I ended up paying for cigarettes anyway. BUT now that we can't bring soda on board anymore, grabbing a can of soda to bring back to the room would be awesome!!!

  5. I've always just called CAS with a specific cruise date. You will be comped depending on your previous play. I've been comped from balconies to suites and have never waited for an offer.

Reading from other posters it seems the minimum would be a 10% discount.

If you have a specific cruise in mind, give CAS a call and see what they can do for you. The number is 877-752-9625.

    Good luck!

  6. Another reason to love CAS, bottled water comes with your drink card and I get canned soda from my casino tier. I will just have to order extras when playing.

Though I am a Pepsi fan it does suck for people who love coke products.

I knew that you were able to get bottled water from the CAS drink card but I didn't realize canned soda also. What tier do you need to be to get that? I'm currently Golden.

  7. I was on the Gem 1/2/16 and only interacted with two hosts:

    Rimarie (executive host) and Antonio.

I thought Rimarie was great. She offered dinner and wine just about everyday and she took way more off my final bill than I was even expecting.

I only play slots so not familiar with staff by the tables, but I hope this helps!

  8. I was just in 11030 on the 10 night on 1/2/16 and the butler was Dilip.

He was a good butler. He certainly did his job but I guess I've been spoiled and had others go above and beyond and anticipate our needs.

Side note.....note sure if you've stayed in this cabin previously but it is extremely noisy. It was difficult to get a full nights sleep without waking up every hour or so. It didn't ruin my vacation one bit, but maybe bring some ear plugs!

  9. This might be a silly question but hoping to ease my mind....

I just booked the CTN for 12/11/15 on the Breakaway with CAS today. I was comped a balcony just having to pay the taxes.

I've had booked for almost a year through CAS the 10 day on the Gem 1/2/16. Again I was comped a balcony but paid to upgrade to an aft balcony.

I really have no plans on gambling on the CTN because I'm going with a non-gambler.

Will this affect my comp on my 10 day? Can they downgrade my comp because I won't be gambling on the CTN?

I recall reading a thread here a few weeks ago where someone did get their comp downgraded after booking but I've been booked for months and I'm 80 days out.

Hopefully all you seasoned CAS cruisers will tell I'm being paranoid!

  10. I wonder if it will be an issue because it was booked thru CAS. Which passenger had the comp/discount from CAS?

Many people here will know better since I've only cruised once before on a CAS comped room but if I didn't show up and I was the rated player that got the comp, I would think that would be an issue for my friend to go without me on my comp.

  11. My CAS rep told me that there is not a second bathroom in the Haven aft facing penthouse suites. I've seen some reviews with pics of a second bathroom but I want to make sure all the H6's have them.

He even checked with another rep and was told that there is only one bathroom.

I'm currently booked in a 2 bedroom but would love to have use of an aft balcony.....as long as there's a second bathroom!

  12. I recently had my first cruise on Norweigian and stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in the Haven on the Gem. We were 4 adults and by the end of the week we had requested 1 Dvd, had a pizza delivered and had one dinner from Cagneys in suite. We chose to tip after each request and by the end of week we had tipped $100

On the last night, our butler came and delivered our priority tags and kindly mentioned that his services were not included in DSC. I wasn't offended as I assume there are times they get stiffed. We were already prepared to tip another $250 but I was surprised that he was basically saying that the $100 we already tipped wasn't enough.
