  1. I'm looking into booking the NCL Breakway nest year. One week is Ocho Rios and the nest is Falmouth. I've always wanted to walk up Dunns River Falls, but I saw that as an option on both. I don't even know if that's what I would end up doing, might find something more fun. Any suggestion on which port is better?

  2. Not one hundred percent sure where the computers are in he gen but on the getaway they were in the atrium, next to the big screen and all the seats. And if you want to use it just to check emails computer is fine. But again can connect to WiFi on the phone if you want. Just make sure it says airplane mode and WiFi. Keep your phone on airplane mode the entire time as well as to not get charged.

  3. My bff was on a cruise with me and used my login on my internet minutes I had gotten as a perk when I booked. IDK if she used it at the same time, but we were in dif rooms, dif bookings. I just gave her the log in info and she could go on whenever she wanted. Neither of us got kicked off, so I don't think we were on at the same time. Is it a must you be on at the same time? You cna sign up for the texting thru the app and communicate who's gonna be on and when.

  4. The only thing I know of is where you can use the NCL app to text other people on the ship via their room number or name (its been over year don't remember that well). I don't think it was $30. Also if you have an iphone and buy internet minutes you can text other iphone users via wifi. Just make sure the phone is on wifi and airplane mode (cellular data turned off).

  5. I've done 2 sailings on NCL Getaway in the solo cabins. The first time I went alone, I used these message boards to get a feel for who was on the ship too. I am an introvert too, so meeting people was hard but I met 3 other solos and we kinda hung out the whole time when we planned, like trivia, dinner, parties. it was nice having people ot mingle with WHEN I wanted too. The cabin is actually spacious. Queen size bed, 2 closets, 2 under bed storage things, the sink area has large storage area. As for the solo activities, they are kinda lame and boring and I never went after the first night. I did use their reservations for main dining so I wouldn't be alone when I went to the free places. I did eat alone at Cagneys one night. My second sailing I went with y 2 bffs and we all had solo cabins, we didnt even ever meet any of the other solo cruisers. lol The studio lounge kinda sucks, the bar is only open for a few hours in the afternoon and NO ONE is ever in there except in the mornings cause there is free juice and treats.

Go for what price works for you, but the NCL studios are pretty good size.

  6. How much did everyone end up spending a blue Kay? Cheaper than an AI?

I waited too long and Maya Chan was booked. Im going in October. And after reading Mitsugirly's review on Blue Kay I'm very interested in it. I followed her posts for my last cruise and did Mullet Bay then walked to Maho and they live dup tp everything she described. So I assume this is a good bet. Just want to make sure it's not gonna be expensive when I go. Im looking for just relaxing drinking and eating day in port. lol

  7. I went on 2014 and going in October. I thought the service was amazing, the food was good, drinks were strong, and the staff was just super friendly. I had a waitress at 5pm in Cagney's greeted me by name the next afternoon at lunch at the buffet. I freaked out on the ropes course and the guy working it came to me walked the entire course (well the shortest route) backwards holding my rope and encouraging me the entire time so I could have the experience of it. I was trying to get off but he talked me into it. I'm sure glad he did. I'll never do it again but I did it. I got his name and wrote a huge thank you letter to him when I got home.

All the nickel and diming is annoying, but the reality is that's life. It happens every where. But service is what makes people come back. I had amazing service so I am going back and can not wait!

  8. Any suggestions on who to book a snorkel tour with? I'm going in October with NCL but the reviews of the ones offered thru them aren't the best. Any one know of a company to use? Is shore excursioneer reliable? Or any others?

  9. Isn't there a bar in the solo lounge on the Getaway? I thought that was kinda the whole point of that. Does it just go un-used then?

that part made me mad. lol There was only ever a bartender there for a few hours a day, usually between 4:30 and 6:30. I only ever used to grab a drink on the way out of my room to somewhere else before dinner. The whole lounge was pretty lame. they did have free juice, water and coffee in there and cookies.

  10. Just announced on another thread that GSC will be closed from 8/24-10/20, 2016. I'll bet that's when Margaritaville will be added and who knows what other fee based restaurants and bars. I think Harvest Caye will have 3 restaurants and bars, all a la carte. Expected to open sometime late November. Timing pretty good to promote both private islands and their fee based "amenities".

Haven't heard a date for the Margaritaville to change on the ships but I bet it will be soon. Why keep giving free food during the busy summer season when they can increase revenue.

Im not hip to all the lingo around here. What is GSC? Im going on the getaway 10/9-16. Something. I liked the flamingo grille for not being packed but didnt care for the food. I'd LOVE margarittaville to be on there when I go. I LOVE Jimmy!!!

  11. I've seen them mentioned here and there on some threads. Has anyone used them? There is a private snorkeling tour for only $200. Seems too good to be true. The reviews on tripadvisor look good. I am very worried about missing the ship since it is a tender port.

  12. I'm going on a cruise in October and want to go snorkeling in Belize. It is something I have to do. Has anyone ever booked with a different company not thru the ship? Has anyone booked via NCL? I want to go to the reef but I’m worried about travel time and missing the ship. How long would the boat ride be to and from? Is there usually something to sit under on the boats? My friend and I burn easily. Any suggestion on a company to book a snorkel excursion with? I’m not looking for a private tour, that’s way too much money. I just want to see fish and pretty coral. It’s always been a dream of mine to snorkel in Belize. Any and all suggestions are helpful!

I have read through many of the threads here and I feel like I can't find what I need to know.

  13. thanks Ive been worried about this too. I've been reading Jade reviews and sounds like its been a nightmare. So Ive been worried to book private tours. I'm still on the fence of what to do

Me too!!! I dont want to book it and miss it
