So to quote "do you feel lucky punk?"
:')
No, not particularly! Thank you for your input, I will prebook online...just in case.
At least we are lucky enough to be doing a back to back, so if weather is problematic going up, we should be able to reschedule for the trip home.
It's the one thing my 71 year old hubby wants to do, so I'm not planning on disappointing him!
Thanks all:D

Can I ask people's opinions as to whether it is easier to prebook a tour with the operator online, or to wait until the ship is docked and see the operators on the pier?
I want to book the helicopter tour but just not sure whether to do it in advance or to wait?

My husband and I are cruising Alaska mid May.
He would dearly love to do a dog sledding tour across the snow. The tour on the ship is quite expensive as compared to the prices offered by independent operators we have sourced on google.
Could readers please advise which way they went in booking a tour....ship or private....and what they thought of the tour in terms of value for money?
We are also aware that the weather plays a big part in the operation of these tours....if you have been cancelled with a non ship tour, did you get a full refund and in good time? And is Mid May a good time weatherwise?
We are open to dog tours in Juneau, Skagway, if anywhere that they might run, so long as there is snow involved!

Thanks Mike
We could easily take our own luggage.....so should it be a problem. I had planned to chat to the concierge desk once on board to see if we could be streamlined off..... This is the first leg back of our international flight, and is going to be quite expensive to change....

Ha! Our flight is at 11:55 and I'm not worried at all.
Mike
We've just been advised that our flight has been changed from 12.30 to 11.10.....does anyone think that this will be a problem? Don't want to worry but having never missed a flight yet, I don't want this to be the first!

As an Aussie getting ready to embark on a cruise that leaves Miami, and covers the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexico and Canada, can any other Aussies who have done a similar trip please confirm if any other visas other than the ESTA required by the US will be required to be obtained by us before leaving home?
It was my understanding that as the cruise starts and finishes in the States, then the ESTA will be all that we need...but I don't want to wait until the last minute to find out that is not true.
Thanks in advance :)

We, too, will be Miami Virgins when we touch down next April....have taken on board suggestions re the Intercontinental and will look at booking there.
Can someone advise the standard Easter trading for the US...we arrive on Easter Saturday and set sail Easter Monday...would like to know that we will find some stores open particularly at Bayside in our one full day in Miami.
Vancouver BC hotels near cruise terminal?
in Alaska

We were contemplating staying out near the airport once we arrive, and then making our way into the pier the next day. Can anyone comment if this is friendlier budget wise, not knowing Vancouver at all, we are very open to suggestions
