My oldest son lives in Kona,  fire in Kohala is under control for now and another in Hilo area. Kona is fine and could certainly be a port for Solstice.  Kona will be a tender port and has stopped there many times. Enjoy your cruise no matter where they choose.

We are considering an Infinite Veranda for next year on Ascent and of course we have heard good and bad.

I have heard that when the window is open and the shutter folding doors are open that the AC turns off. If the shutter folding doors are closed will the AC continue to work with the window open?

I didn’t realize you could only move it once but it would not have mattered, hopefully the new itinerary does go. I really won’t be surprised either way. If cruises cancel again then we’ll just go back to Cancun. Multiple trips there this year with cruises cancelled

The Eclipse was 7 nights also. Our price/promotions were much better than what is being offered not so they gave us our same rates/promos. I’m half expecting it to cancel but am hopeful.  We have a transpacific planned on Millie in Sept at least

Our 5/16 Eclipse cruise was also cancelled.  We were able to transfer our booking with the same pricing and promotions we had to the 7 day southbound on Millennium on 5/21.  Glad they honored our same price as this cruise is much more now

Are you allowed to choose the same restaurant each night, like Cagney's, if that's desired (using the Specialty Dinning Package)?

Try the Enterprise office that's in town, they will usually pick up. All the rest are at the airport and you would need to take a cab. No need for a rental if you are staying within the 6 miles of Alii Dr in Kona.

Has anyone that has been on LOS lately noticed if men are wearing dress shorts in the MDR for dinner? Husband is hoping nice shorts are acceptable but I told him to take some slacks just in case,

We were on LOS in May and I did see a couple men in nice shorts in the dining room every night, including formal nights. I have to say I was a little jealous but my wife likes to dress up on cruises so...happy wife, happy life!

The Best snorkeling on the Big Island is Kealakekua Bay! There are a few good operators that are licensed to take tours there. Fairwinds and Body Glove are both large boats with lots of people. Do the morning tour and enjoy the dolphins in the bay!

Loved the Molecular Bar!!

Spent 17 nights at the Molecular Bar on Solstice in 2014 from Hawaii to Sydney. Great drinks and great/friendly bartenders. Was definitely one of the many highlights of our trip. And it was packed every night!

We were on the Liberty for this itinerary 5/8 - 5/15, what a great trip, enjoy!

Go see Stefan in the R Bar, tell him what you like and let him make you a great martini! You will be there to start every night.

Yeah, after I got off the phone I was contemplating calling back. Also, why would C&A rep transfer me to a regular agent for a beverage booking. Are C&A agents not supposed to be able to everything and more than a regular agent. I felt put off when C&A agent said I'll need to transfer you for that.

I was put off by this also. I called the c&a number and he told me that our 5/8 Liberty sailing was included in the sale and he transferred me to a regular agent to book who then told me no, our cruise was not included. Very frustrating!

I call the regular number 3 times and got 3 different answers about the sale. Some said no cruises under 9 days another said the 5/15 and later Liberty sailings were included but not my 5/8 sailing. I felt like they were just making things up.

I guess I will keep trying this week to see if I get lucky.

Where did you pick up the trolley to Kahalu'u Beach? From what I've been reading, that beach is great for snorkeling and the water is very warm!

You can get on the Trolley at the pier where the tenders drop you off and you can ride 6 miles down Alii Drive to the Sheraton Hotel and back. Kahaluu is about 4.5 miles. $2/per person each time you get on the trolley

Thanks everyone for your input! We could just take powder for her but I was just trying to make it easy for her. I will call RCI and see if they can tell me. I need to call them anyway to try and get the 20% discount on my Ultimate package.

Does anyone know if the Royal Replenish package includes Protein Shakes from the Solarium? My wife does not drink so im looking for a non alcoholic package that includes the protein shakes if there is one.
