  1. The 2 beaches in Key West are public beaches and open to anyone. Smathers beach and Ft Zachary Taylor are in Key West. Ft. Zachary Taylor is definitely walking distance and the cost is $2 or less. Or for fun rent a scooter for the day.

  2. I did a cruise across the Pacific in September 2017 on the Noordam. If you get the chance to book the behind the scenes tour, do it. At the time I thought it was pricey ($150). It was an all day tour of the bridge, Engine control room, crew spaces, costume room, liquor locker, laundry, tailor shop, garbage room, watertight doors, galley, dining rooms, and so much more. Each person/ couple got a picture with the Captain. The time to sign up is ASAP. You won't regret it.

  3. We just did a HAL cruise. People that embarked in Honolulu with a midnight departure, had to be aboard do to the 4pm drill.

Folks that boarded in Vancouver or San Diego were not required to attend.

It's possible you could do the drill, and then go ashore and be back by the all aboard time.

  4. We went there a few years ago. I ordered a map online. All of the tourist places were near the pier and south. We went north to Playa Azul. It was not such a tourist place. Great beach.

A few blocks in from the pier it seemed pretty gritty and I'm not sure it would be a great place to go.

  5. We will be on the Infinity which stops at the Keys. We want to do a tour, but all that seems to be offered is a 1 1/2 walking tour. Is that worth booking, or would we see more on a trolley hop on/off type tour, which is not offered by Celebrity. I would have to book that online, I guess. We are not looking for any water-type activities, or even too much walking since we are elderly! Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

I've been to Key West 5 times and the trolley is very easy to book just as a walk up. They offer hop on off and a tour as well. Only a block from where the ship docks.
