  1. I'm sure Reid's themselves are fully aware of the time the ship leaves, after all they will have a booking from P&O and I would imagine they would get it all done in good time, so when I go I'll keep a watchful eye on the excursion, ask Reid's to organise a taxi and leave 15 minutes or so before they do!

There, that sounds like a plan eh? 🤔

    What could possibly go wrong..................?

  2. I've just booked tea at Reid's for 3pm on October 19th direct through Reid's website at 6 o'clock yesterday evening and got confirmation at 11 this morning for a table for two on the terrace.

I find it's easier to book it and then cancel rather than leave it just in case and then find they are fully booked.

  3. That's exactly what I've done, it's the first time I've pre-registered so I guess I'll have to wait until sometime on Monday to see if it was worth doing.

Well, that worked for me, I got a call from my TA at 8.30 this morning, so it's all booked and in my first choice cabin as well, only 1 year and 10 months to go now!

Talk about wishing your life away...........

  4. When I have pre registered with our Cruise Agent, I have always given her at least four or five cabins that I'm happy with. She has my card details and providing she can get one of those cabins she will book it and pay the deposit with my card. I'm happy with this and it does mean that it doesn't matter if I'm not there to answer the phone - I usually will be though - and often she has phoned me by 10 -10.30am to say that it's all booked. She's never not been able to get me one of the cabins that we want. I still think it's worth while having a good Cruise Agent rather than booking through P&O. That's just my experience.

  5. Oh dear! I am sailing on Ventura from Mayflower next week. We used Ocean Terminal onto the Azura four years ago and it was excellent and speedy boarding..

We had previously used Mayflower and had no problems but that was 1998 and onto a smaller ship, Oriana.

Perhaps being an older and smaller terminal Mayflower can not handle 3000 passengers in one go.

We'll see how it goes next week.

We boarded Azura from Mayflower last October with an embarkation time of 2.30, we arrived at 1.25 and were more than happy to wait for our allotted time, there were plenty of seats to be had, but to our surprise a lovely lady handed us our coloured card and told us we wouldn't have to wait too long, she wasn't lying, we were on board by 1.45! 6. Does anyone else feel their age when having to scroll down to e.g. the 1950's to login a birth date on your cruise personaliser? Or maybe it's just me. Having to scroll down past all those years every time I login doesn't do wonders for being freshly 60 sadly! Why P&O don't set the scroll for say 1970, so you can quickly scroll up or down, bugs me... Got that off my chest anyway. Thanks for listening!

Being newly 60 myself I feel your pain.

Just changing the subject slightly, can you remember when you started making noises when sitting down or getting up??

They sure snook up on me!! [emoji37]

  8. UPDATE

Just spoke to my cruise consultant about another matter so asked about this third option. It is not an "automatic" upgrade as such but there is an option to have your booking marked that you would accept an upgrade to another "type" of cabin if any are availabe.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

    Sue

I've also just asked for the third option with my TA and it was no sooner said than done and the phone call only took three minutes.

  9. If you go into cruisecal.com and click on itinerary tab....Put in ship and departure date......It will show all arrival and departure times and also other ships in port....We have found it to be very accurate the several times we've used it. :)

    Great minds etc.

  10. Drove down Thursday night, car staying at hotel, out of hotel by midday, buy new t-shirt for me and new boots for she who thinks should be obeyed, taxi to Mayflower terminal at 1.15 for 2.30 boarding time.

In the terminal for 1.30 where a very nice lady handed me a red card (didn't get sent off, which was nice) on board at.......................................................................................1.50!

We only arrived early because there was nothing else to do, we were quite happy to wait for our official boarding time but got a result on the day, who knows, next time might be different!

  11. And your user name has just made me smile too Saltybaltyholty :) :) Love it.

Many years ago I was working in an office with 5 others, all with the same sense of humour, the banter was immense [emoji1] one particular day we were talking about 'what we did last night' I said I went for a very nice Balti, to which the question came flying over from the corner 'Was it a Salty Balti Holty??'

It makes me smile as well, happy days! [emoji38]

By the way, my surname is Holt!
