My daughter was booked on the 3/29 Horizon as her honeymoon.   Now to scramble and try to salvage something for them to do.  I hope Carnival gives refunds quickly so they have money to enjoy whatever they do

They are most likely going to have to postpone their honeymoon and possibly even their wedding.

We are on Navigator next week out of Miami and I am not worried, but am a little anxious about our July cruise on Rhapsody out of Venice getting canceled. It's been a bit of an albatross, first with Venice deciding to close the port to future cruises and now this. Oy. Fingers crossed!

Would probably start looking into cancellations for the Venice cruise

  3. On the NCL site it says this

"ARE ANY MENU ITEMS EXCLUDED FROM SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGES?

All Specialty Restaurant menu items are included except Seafood Platter in Raw Bar. Premium menu item upcharges may apply. Additional entrée charges may apply.

For Food Republic, Pincho, Sushi and Wasabi, an SDP meal includes 4 menu items."

Does that mean the Free at Sea SDP only has 4 items at the restaurants?

Here is a video of the drive in on the South Klondike highway.

Question for anyone who has done this drive, is a suv needed or are the roads pretty good all the way up to the lake?

  5. And in the last few years Carnival has raised and donated over $8 Million for St Jude's Children Hospital .... NCL and RCL? Not a nickle.

Maybe these 2 companies can learn from Carnival's humanitarian efforts and generosity shown on a daily basis.

Royal has raised far more money for other programs and done many other relief efforts for smaller countries effected by natural disasters

  6. Disney is a five star cruise line. As a reference point, RCCL, Celebrity, Carnival are 4 star. Certainly the entertainment is different and you are with the Disney characters. Disney cruises have fireworks every night (just like when you stay on property). Disney does rotational dining where you (and your wait staff) rotate to different dining rooms every night. They have a wonderful kids program. Each cabin has a tub. All that said, I think it is overrated.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

    I would think Carnival would be a 3 or 3 1/2 star

  7. And you can go to the Royal Caribbean board and read the same complaints  Yes, entertainment is better. No, the food is NOT better to most that sail both lines without bias. Carnival does MUCH better with their included options than Royal does. You cant even compare to that frozen garbage they serve at Sorrentos to a fresh made Carnival pizza. Royals included Windjammer burgers are horrid, their desserts are also about 100% gelatin crap too. The MDR is a tie to me and the Windjammer is a little better than Carnivals Lido Marketplace. Carnivals steakhouses blow Chops out of the water. Period.

We can agree to disagree on that one then
