Our RDU to CDG connecting to Copenhagen was cancelled in August. Delta rebooked us coach from RDU to JFK and standby to Copenhagen. Called the emergency Regent custom Air and they rebooked us on business class from RDU to Copenhagen via Reykjavik on Icelandair.

Our travel agent arranged for us to remain in our concierge d suite with a repricing for an F suite at the current price for an F. If we would have moved up to Penthouse B it would have cost us a little more, because we had booked prior to the fare rise in January.

But how do they accommodate all of the pax in Biz? There are two flights a day I believe, but still only one Dreamliner I think. Do they spread the arrivals over several days? (I guess they can do that if Concierge and above gets the pre-cruise night.)
I am in backwoods Alaska, so connectivity is tough, therefore the delayed response. I should clarify, Regent booked my wife and I, with deviation to Papeete on the Air Tahiti flight from LAX. We were more concerned about1st class from MIA. My statement about the flight only applies to us. They may hook up others from SFO or a charter. We are in a concierge suite. Sorry for the confusion.

Think that you need to check the Regent website regarding Business Class air to or from Tahiti. I seem to remember that it was economy air and posters were not happy. Having been to Tahiti about 5 times (only once via cruise ship), the flights are very limited and therefore, so are Business Class seats. We have done Economy Air to Tahiti and will never do it again!
It is now business class from LAX on Air Tahiti Nui. The route is now flying Boeing 787-9. Decent business class for a 8.5 hr flight.

Got off the mail list when we sold our sticks and bricks to full time in our Newmar two years ago. It helped that we sold the house. In fact, we manage to get off of all hard mailing lists after much effort, and all of our junk mail is email. Much easier to dispose, but still keeps us in touch, if we wish. Our TA can provide hard copy if necessary,

No credit card will cover your medical care or emergency evacuation. You need to carry a minimum of $1 million dollars of said coverage on long distance cruises. Pre existing conditions must usually be purchased within 30 days of booking. Talk to a professional travel agent rep to determine what fits your needs. It is not inexpensive to get the coverage needed for long haul trips, but it is well worth cost, considering your liability if not covered.

Was on the Rome to Lisbon and then to Miami and took only included tours and not one of the busses had more than 30. So I assume the number of passengers depends on the chosen tours.

They are both only open on sea days. Otherwise it is one or the other.Having those two restaurants open at lunchtime really is a treat! And with no reservations. :DSent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app

Don't want to hijack thread, but when does Regent release the tickets, so meals can be ordered?

Good to know paratrooper69. Are you on this upcoming sailing? If so, what did you do?
Am on the Explorer from Rome to Miami. I booked a different tour. Since Malaga is a long drive to Alhambra, I decided if I ever wish to see it I will wait until the next time we go to Spain.
-
Thanks for your response, Dave.
There is no option of selecting any tour for Lisbon in my account. To clarify, the booking I purchased is under one booking number, itinerary whatever you want to call it - one 16 day offering, which is also offered as two separate segments. I would think that Regent can estimate the number of people on the 16 day cruise the same as any other cruise that is offered. From my standpoint this port day is no different than any other port. If I they can estimate how many people are onboard on Day 2 for example, they know how many are onboard Day 8 of those who purchased the 16 day cruise.
Re: Alhambra I've received further information. As you suggest it is not sold out but is not available for booking because of some difficulties contracting with operators and what sounds like ticket rations. This presents a conundrum of whether to book on my own or wait it our and see what Regent comes up with anything.
Alhambra tour not offered on the Rome to Lisbon sailing Nov 12, 2017. Same issues as stated above. Not sure if they will offer again.

Since there will obviously be a chef on the Rome to Lisbon leg, I suppose it is possible that there won't be culinary classes on the crossing due to the holiday? It would be surprising but certainly is possible. I think that it was on one of our Explorer crossings that there wasn't a Cruise Consultant onboard so we couldn't make onboard bookings -- it may have been last November.
Definitely a chef on this leg, there is an excursion with the chef to the markets in Barcelona, with a meal at a 2 star Michelin restaurant, tapas of course.

Sorry. The only culinary classes showing are indeed on the Rome to Lisbon leg, and they are still shown as closed.

I just went to my booked cruise page and the culinary page is still there and still sold out. That is why you can't book them now. Maybe this discussion would have been better served on the Roll Call forum.

Well, much to much time for me one this one. But Flossie009 I couldn't agree with you more-you said everything and I do hope Regent is reading as they need help on customer service.
Paratrooper69, if your on the TA this Nov 2017-this would be a mistake on Regents part if sold out and not stating that information. I booked in late May and deposit was paid on May 30th. I asked about cooking classes at that time, my TA called Regent and was told no classes could be booked at that time. I also called Regent once a month to check as I wanted to take a few classes for fun, each time I was told Regent wasn't ready. Now that I've paid for the full cruise I've called 2 times on Friday and on 2 time on Saturday just to be sure-Regent said not ready yet and they have gotten many calls on this.
TC2, The more that I think of your answer "THIS IS HARDLY AN EMERGENCY" how sad is that answer. You know when this cruise sails full that's over $6,000,000 in revenue fare before anyone spends any money-I really think Regent can and should do a better this! Rick
I am on from rome. The customize link was there, when I first booked. I looked at the classes and decided they weren't going to teach me anything, so i didn't sign up for any. All I know is that by November 2016, they were all showing as filled.

I had a chance to sign up when I first booked in spring of 16. There was a customize link to the culinary classes then. Before the end of the year, I went back to look at them again and all of the courses were already filled.

All of the classes have been filled for months, so you may have to wait until embakation to make arrangements.

My point was that gin drinks seem to go better in warmer climates - I know a LOT more gin fans here in SC than I did in CO. Me, I'm happy with pretty much any of the brown ones...

Please tell me you are going to be posting about your voyage. It seems forever since someone has posted about their Regent experience. Right now we can't travel because of my DH's health and so i am living vicariously through other people's posts and it has been too quiet on this board lately. I am enjoying the Regent vs Viking postings but would really appreciate one about a Regent sailing.
Depart Rome 12 Nov arrive Miami 8 Dec. Been a couple years since we were in Europe. Will keep updates coming if I can find my gim
As TC mentioned,we can only get (or at least here on the East Coast) two kinds of Fever Tree and few, if any stores, stock it. There is "regular" (no added flavors) and diet, so that leaves "regular". Even if this one is the most tame of the group, I still would only want it with vodka. That is very pleasant!Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
Late Flight Out of Reykjavik: What to Do?
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
Just got back from a four day trip to Reykjavik. Keflavik is about an hours drive from. Downtown. There are many museums, all charge about $20 per person although some have over 67 discounts. If you are there in warmer weather, there a number of public spaces to walk. The downtown is compact, so walkable. Many restaurants. Prices are comparable with big cities, i.e. somewhat expensive. Have fun
