You are correct about Jiji's. There were 4 or 5 specific bowls that you could get. They told us that you couldn't change them. All of the comedy shows fill up. If you want your pick of seats, you need to be there about an hour before. We liked seats along the back, so they were usually available longer.

We were on this cruise. We had a similar experience to yours. We very much enjoyed it and did a lot of relaxing. We had the best weather that we have ever had on a cruise. Calm, sunny and hot.

We had a cruise booked a year ago. Our final payment was set to autopay, but my sister's credit card had expired. She woke up during the night one night and couldn't remember seeing the final payment charge on her credit card. She called Carnival at 3 in the morning in tears. They managed to get her rebooked in a different room with very little extra cost. She was very lucky.

We got our pre-dinner drinks at the Oceans Plaza bar (beside the taste bar - behind the casino) every night. They also had the martini tasting deal there every night starting at 5pm.

We were on that cruise (Jan31 - Dream) as well. Got to observe more of the docking procedure than we usually do in Cozumel.

Arriving after your assigned (or chosen) check-in time will mean that you bypass the cruise terminal entry line for the current check-in time and go straight to the security line. We arrived at least 3/4hour after our 10:30 - 11:00 time and hardly stopped moving until we were on the ship (Dream Jan. 31 - NOLA)

....and I thought that the OP was talking about sending the rude neighbour home from the first port

We went a couple of years ago and my mom was in a wheelchair. They did put us upstairs, but we just took the elevator up one more floor to deck 4. They were very good with her. She is able to walk, just not far, so she went in the wheelchair to the table and then got into a chair to eat.

Caribbean Manhattan in the Alchemy Bar. Or any of the "similar but different" concoctions that Adri and Jovanna made for me on the Conquest last week.

[quote name='Havingfun2010']I was reading this thread in amusement.
First: it talks about low wages and long hard hours. Has anyone ever looked around the USA and really looked? How is this different than so many people in other jobs? jungling low pay, long hours, and never making ends meet. Why is it the poor cruise ship worker is discussed? They actually make a ton more money on the ship, than in their country.
Second: When they talk to you, why is it they always tell you how hard it is? Away from home, long hours, low pay and always never fails to throw in they need tips. The oldest trick in the book. Sad story, and ask for tip. They work for tips, and nothing wrong with it, and we give them tips, and that is the way it works. They pick the job, not us.................................

My thoughts exactly - I'm sure that I could come up with some pretty good stories if I was working for tips.
In terms of wage comparisons around the world, if you can afford to go on one cruise, you are part of the "one percent".

FYI
You can order the WCMC "rare", "medium", or "well-done". They normally have all three ready to go and distribute them randomly to the guests who didn't specify which they wanted.

The windows are tinted, but people can see in, especially at night when the lights are on in the room. The outside deck is a perfect place to be for sailaway. The end rooms are usually handicapped access and may not have movable beds, but I believe that the beds in the rest of the rooms can be pushed together.

Carnival Horizon - Jiji's and comedy clubs
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We had no complaints about the food on the Horizon. I didn't really enjoy Jiji's at noon, but there were many other good options. We ate in the dining room every night for dinner and the food was always good.
