I just rented a ultra light standard folding scooter from speicalneedsatsea.  I have done this in the past when we have a standard cabin.  It only weighs 37 pounds and when we fold it down, it fits into the closet standing up against the wall.  Takes only a couple of minutes to set up and off I go.Ultrltra-Light Folding Standard Scooter –

This thread is timely.  DH has walking (back) problem and also recently diagnosed with heart issues as well.  Cruise is booked and anticipated but getting around will be a concern and most likely not doable on a scale needed to enjoy it.  He's considering a scooter but from comments here they are a nuisance and not easily controlled if not experienced with one.  Would like to hear from someone who had one delivered to their non-accessible cabin;  could they enter the door and use the scooter easily?  He's of athletic build and ably strong, so he thinks it wouldn't be a problem for him if the access to the room is not an issue.

  3. We are cruising on the Equinox March 14th.  If anyone that cruises before that time and has port calls in Grand Caymon, Aruba and Curacas can tell me if there is any sort of transportation,( golf card, open small bus) that can/does provide a ride directly from the ship to the port gate?  I have checked on the port boards as well as the disability board, and have not found any information.  I just want to get from the ship to port without alot of walking.  Once in port, I will be fine.  I'm having a mobility scooter on board, but don't want to take it with me because it's not possible to take a taxi etc with it.  Any information you can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

  6. We are going on the Equinox in March... our port of calls are Grand Cayman, Aruba and Curaco.. Could anyone tell me whether or not there is transportation assistance available to shore from the ship.  Have walking mobility issues and find it difficult to make the long walk to shore.  I know sometimes we've found openair small buses or golf cart assistance.  Any information would be helpful... thank you!

There should be a set of directions in your cabin that explains how to set up an internet account. When you sign into that account you’ll see a list of options to purchase minutes. Select the choice for your captains club minutes. If you are careful about logging out when you are finished you can save your remaining minutes to use periodically throughout your cruise.

do we each have the 90 minutes?  Can I transfer mine to my husband?

  8. I used one of these on our Celebrity cruises in a regular cabin.  Was great!  Stored it in our closet against the closet wall.  Easy to fold and unfold. Was in our cabin when we arrived and just had to leave it in the cabin when we departed.  Could not have been easier.

Keep in mind you will probably need an accessible room. Your scooter needs to be kept inside your room when not in use. It can't be kept outside your room in the hallway.  For practice in using a scooter, just go to your local supermarket or Walmart and use theirs. Keep in mind that a rental will be smaller than and easier to handle.

I rented a fold up scooter for my cruise and did not have an accessible cabin.  worked great, was easy to fold up and we stored it in our closet when not in use resting against the wall of the closet.  took up very little space.

We didn’t get any of the extras that bigger gamblers typically do. We purchased the drink package and wifi outright, with a small BCC discount stacked on top of the Captain’s Club discount. I can’t remember offhand what the final cost was but with the US-Canadian exchange it wasn’t cheap! A couple thousand maybe?

I saw that someone quoted me in another thread about BCC, seemingly to make the point that infrequent/low $$$ gamblers like us getting offers was a slap in the face of higher status big spenders, but… don’t hate the player, hate the game. 🤣

We may not drop big bucks in the casino but we’ll spend a pretty penny on drinks and wifi and spa etc. while on board.

After my Solstice cruise in October, I didn’t expect to get any future offers, since the Fox and I only gambled a little and actually came out ahead by a few bucks. (But it turns out that she was waaaay better good luck charm than my husband so that won’t be the case on this cruise. He’s lucky he’s pretty.)

    Thank you!!
