  1. This matter has now been resolved.  After more phone calls to NCL and Airtransat, i found out that Airtransat actually cancelled the flight, so NCL re-booked thru BA.  When i first called air transat they denied a refund, I called back today and asked to speak to a supervisor they decided to refund me.  took 3 calls to Airtransat but its resolved.  No fault on NCL.

to the OP, I don't know if your flight has an US leg or not, but the US department of transportation rules comes across to me as you are entitled to a refund. Now, I'm not a lawyer, although I did stay at a holiday inn express last night:

I'm wondering if OP can clarify if the fees were purely to select any regular seats or if he paid for extra legroom or something like that.  Is the nonrefundable part because it is booked through NCL?

Because our last trip to Europe, BA changed our flights.  I had paid $50 per seat to select seats on the original flight.  I applied for a refund on their website and I got it.  But they said I had to wait until after I got home and after the date of the flight had passed.

It was regular seats, I wanted yo make sure I was sitting with my wife.

Good golly gravy! How much does seat selection cost and how many bags are y'all taking? Is this for more than two people? Cuz, that's a lot of loonies for two!

Sorry that happened to you. We always select our seats as soon as NCL sends us the tickets, so I get why you'd be upset.

The conversion to Pounds was a killer

  5. I got flights thru NCL for my upcoming transatlantic,  on the return leg of the trip we were booked out of Gatwick with Air Transat.  I went on to their site and booked our seat selection and paid for our luggage.  WELL NCL just changed everything,  I now fly out of Heathrow with Brittish Airway.  I was told by NCL AND Airtransat that that monies are not refundable.  So in the future I quess I would wait till last minute to choose seats I I will never pay for luggage until I get on the aircraft.

  6. Has anyone booked flights thru NCL from Halifax to new york?  I am tempted to gamble as the price for our TA on the Getaway is around 900 USD  for both of us return from London .  2 days before embarkation.  What airline did they use from HLFX. to NY?  TIA

  7. We will be in Ketchikan July 11, and we are wondering where is the favourite place to eat salmon. We are doing the misty fjord excursion in the morning (0730-1230 ish), and then we plan on doing a walk through Creek Street and havin lunch, any recommendations would be helpful, if there is a spot with good beer also it would be nice. The ship departs at 1600.

    Thank you....

  8. Just wondering is it better to book the ferry ahead of time? my cruise is July 9, we are landing in Victoria on the 5th and are going to rent a car and drive around the island for a couple days then go to Vancouver and check out some sites and drive up the sea to sky highway, before returning the car on the 8th before getting on the ship. we will likely cross in Nanaimo on the 7th, how far back should i book the ferry? is a day or two before OK? or should it be months in advance. any insight would be helpful thank you.

  9. I am thinking of getting the Captain choice red wine and fruit for the embarkation day for a surprise for my wife, it doesn't say what type of wine it is, we are not wine snobs, but i am wondering if anyone has gotten this in the past and was it worth it.....This is a special cruise for us, first time in a aft mini suite and I would love to surprise her with a little xtra when we get in the room.

    Thanks

  10. Hi!

Is the thermal spa pass worth it for a July Alaska cruise? We’re traveling on the Jewel, pass cost ~180. I have kids and don’t know how often I can get away to use the spa, so will mostly use for thermal pool and sauna.

Have you checked YouTube? there are videos on it of the spa.....DW and I got it for our Alaska cruise in July.
